Can you make a video, telling us all the gig apps that exist. It's okay to me if it's even condensed and you don't give a lot of explanation. I would just like to start checking out and seeing what's available in my market. I have 15 on my phone so far and I'm on a wait list on like 5 or 6 of them.

If I buy another phone is that a business expense or is it simply the phone service per month that I put on my taxes. I'm doing Uber Delivery right now. I do cherry pick to make sure that I make more than the minimum wage per hour. If you could do a tax breakdown, "how to," that would be greatly appreciated. :) I have multiple phones but only one that I pay for phone service. I am on the waitlist for GrubHub but the Portland market is full of drivers. I'm interested if DoorDash is better than UberEats?

I tend to shy away from triple drops on UBER. If just one of those pick ups is slow the other customers may remove their tip because they felt you made them wait for no reason. No one likes seeing us standing in one place waiting for another order while their food is just sitting in our cars.

around the three minute mark you say you wont make 20+ an hour being picky. Mike, if you ever happen to be up in the chicago area. I would love for you to tag along with me on a tuesday, wednesday or fri-sunday. My market is gonna blow ya mind, I got a 12% acceptance rate on DD and 8 on uber, and I average 22 to 30 an hour on weekends and 15 to 22 on weekdays AFTER gas and taxes. I have a sheet of paper on the back of the sunvisor with places I have blacklisted for taking to long regularly, or neighborhoods that have super slow speed limits and are hard to navigate that turn 10 minute deliveries into 30 minute nightmares. I got every inch of my market memorized and down pat. I ONLY take 2 dollar per mile or better deliveries and they have to keep me near the power strip, or be higher dollar per mile to pay for the return milage. for example I turned down a 56 dollar for 24 mile single delivery from petsmart yesterday. [why? only way to the subdivision the order was in, is thru a construction zone that has the highway turned into a 2 hour one way adventure, which makes it a 4 hour delivery to return to the zone]

Every Wingstop in my area sucks! Always waiting. I loath getting orders from there. I also dislike having to pour the drinks myself. It's up there on my list of UGH to accept.
@YourDriverMikeАй бұрын
I was surprised Raising Canes makes us do that too, not a huge deal but kind of dislike it as well.
@stevewoodytАй бұрын
There’s a few places that make me get the drinks. Sometimes I understand it if they mostly do drive thru and the soda machine is in the window area then another that fine in uses. It’s the times when it’s purely out of laziness that irritate me. Golden Chick is never busy and they will just hand me a cup. They don’t say anything or even make eye contact. They just hand me cup. Like come on I’ve been standing here for like three minutes watching yall talk about game of thrones or whatever. This is the only order you have right now.

Cherrypicking can work during busy hours with lots of order volume…but for those of us that need to work 8-12 hour shifts you will struggle to get good orders most of the day and end up sitting way too much. If your doing this job full time i feel like the only way to do good on doordash is as a platinum dasher.

Wingstop and Popeyes are consistently the longest waits I've ever experienced. That said, I'm starting to like them because I usually benefit from Prop 22 waiting at those places. And lately the waits are extra long with football season revving up.

I do Uber eats delivery. The mileage projected on orders is usually pretty off; ie what’s quoted vrs actual. So it’s one more issue to deal with
@YourDriverMikeАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing, I've heard that before. I should use my trip odometer to audit those
@cherylsingleton3357Ай бұрын
I've been noticing that a lot lately. In many cases I noticed they are not adding in the miles to the restaurant/store. Miles are also off from store/restaurant to customer. And the add on Miles are a complete lie.
@ccasey1904Ай бұрын
@@cherylsingleton3357 It’s just awful doing this food delivery. So much bs! And boy am I tired of getting to restaurants to find them closed or somehow the food was just picked up a few minutes ago! same, I moonlight as an editor, so I just sit in my van with my laptop and work on documents for people while waiting for decent orders. so either way my margins are good since I can use my deadtime getting my other gig work done at the same time.

I turned down six offers…ugh I shoot for at least a dollar a mile but if it’s 1 or 2 miles then has to be $3 or bigger. There is no consistency in this business. Platinum is a joke.

And it’s been running only $12 or $13 an hour during PEAK times. And this is a lucrative area. Uber eats has soooo many $2, $3, and $4 orders lately. Or those $40! Orders when you just know the restaurant is prob closed or there is some other problem so you will get 0 .

There is no policy that prohibits Dashers from discussing tips with customers. Increased tips happen regularly for me after delivery is complete when I give ice cold water bottles. I give ice cold water bottles to deliveries orders that have no drink.

Is there any way to identify the specific pickup location before accepting? I recently got a decent DD offer that said pickup at Starbucks. I was within a mile of a Starbucks so I thought great. When I hit accept the pickup was for a location 12 miles away, which meant I'd be in the hole for the trip. On top of that, I couldn't find a way to cancel the trip so I kind of got hosed.
@pepsilove6306Ай бұрын
it should show on the map where you are in relation to the pickup and drop off location, if it bugs out and doesnt show ya, never take it. you will be a blue dot usually, the store will be a red bag icon, and the drop off will be a red house icon.
@YourDriverMikeАй бұрын
Exactly what Pepsi said, if you can't see it you can judge if you can still see the mileage estimate but even still I would always look at your current location and the starting/ending on the offer card. That plus the estimated mileage, should never be surprised about your pick up spot

My acceptance rate is 34%. I will only take orders that are more than a dollar a mile, it all depends on the order payout and distance. If I only took orders that paid 1.50$ or 2$ a mile, I'd be sitting waiting too long. This is a rural area, can't be too picky. I was gifted Platinum for a week as an apology for the pizza CR glitch, I did seem to get more high paying orders. I got the benefits without all the work. It's definitely not worth it to get 70% in this zone.

I'll do $1/km no where near as good as $2/mile but I pretty much can't be too picky or my AR will be down to nothing. Currently at 81%, no dasher rewards in my area but it does have 'priority' access to an AR over 70% but like dasher rewards it really doesn't mean you'll get high paying offers all the time.
