Here's my perspective as a driver and customer who worked for tips for a while. I pay for a dash pass and still get charged delivery FEES!😂 Then they have a $2.99 direct to me. So I'm giving DD $120 a year for dash pass to still pay fees. I always order near by so its ridiculous that they have a fee. So i normally tip around 8-10 bucks. I noticed the more i tip the longer my order takes. So then I started tipping less and my food arrived fast.😂 So I'm done tipping good. There's a guy who orders by me who used to tip $5 every time for this 1.2 mile trip. He quit tipping also. I understand why. So if there's no incentive to tip good there's no point. You're better off typing 0.00

It's not the customer's responsibility to get you up to accurate pay that is DoorDash responsibility. They shouldn't be offering nobody two or three dollars for a trip. DoorDash is your payer not the customer for a tip. A tip is not mandatory but to pay somebody for driving all over town is.
@AwakenToReality11 күн бұрын
My thing is: I usually do not mind tipping but there are days when you don’t really got it but want a nice meal? Paying for the delivery is probably the only option without tipping. And don’t forget the tip baiting which is technically literally illegal they just are banking on the fact that nobody who drives for these delivery apps would either have the knowledge or education to know that that is an actual literal breach of contract and could be taken through the civil court and won or even if the people driving have enough knowledge and education and information to be able to know that that type of issue should go through the courts and would be favorable winning for them. The apps are banking on the fact that nobody who does this job has the resources available meeting the time and the money available to actually go through the process of a court hearing to file suit against the person who breached the contract, a.k.a. the tip BAITER. I’ve been hung up on my support before because when I drop that bomb on them, they really didn’t have any response because they knew it was true that I could take the customer to court and win so they hung up on me.😂

The problem with NOT cherry picking to try and up your hourly rate is that you can easily get $20/hr or more at many fast food joints you are going to deliver for. Not to mention you don't put all those miles on your car and thus you dont have to deal with the maintenance costs. Trust me, the tax deduction doesn't even begin to cover the gas and maint on most vehicles. A wheel alignment will cost you up to $200 bucks but those shocks/struts will cost you north of 1200 bucks. @@jasonhardin8383 on returning items, one time Uber gave me a gopuff alcohol order for some White Claws I took as my last gig because it was going a few blocks from my apartment. Its like 12am and I’ve gone over my 12 hour driving limit but there was no address on the order after pick up 😮 I hit the navigate button anyway and it took me to an apartment building basically where I thought it would so I called the customer, no answer. Called support and they said if customer doesnt answer I had to return the item to gopuff almost 30 mins away! I told them I had an emergency and couldnt do the return. after a 15 min phone battle being threatened w potential deactivation and then threatened to lose my alcohol delivery privileges they just said eff it throw the alcohol away. Never taking a gopuff order again uber cant even contact the customer which is not my fault or my problem. Just drank the last white claw yesterday lol

I hate the take a picture of the receipt so much that as I'm walking out of the store I take a picture straight down of the parking lot. DD has never said anything to me about it and i don't waste time doing taking a useless picture.

How do you know when you are out of your zone. When you are active you can't see the map.
@SimoneFrancesReedАй бұрын
It tells you once you've dropped off the order. If the new zone you're in is busy, it'll ask if you want to switch zones. If it's not busy, it'll just tell you you're out of your scheduled zone and that they'll look for offers while you return to your scheduled zone. The area you're in will sometimes be marked in a reddish like net graphic until you reach your scheduled zone. Then, once you're back in your scheduled zone, it'll tell you you've arrived. Lol. Can you tell my metro takes me out of my scheduled zone a lot? 🤣

Do you think you were punished for not taking the Dashlink offer and that is the reason it took 30 mins to get another offer?

LOL I would lose money doing that here in Oklahoma City. So many of the orders pay so bad that it's almost laughable.

One thing i hate about Doordash is getting an order that's far for a good price lile 3-5 miles for +10 or more dollars and then getting a second order for the same distance or further for a much lower amount like 2-3$

Yeah getting change for your bills from the pizza place oh yeah my first pizza delivery was pizza hut got a second order right after the first one then asked them for bag and got a free pizza bag saved me from buying one for door dash for what like 30 bucks

Number of drop offa dont affect your $/mi ratio? If its 12.56 for 5 mi but its 2 drop offs I probably wont take it assuming at least one didnt tip and the non tippers are always an issue for me

Hot spots are a joke. In my areat they will send you an order offer 20 miles away. My zone has 3 cities in it and surrounded around other zones.

The fact is if you accept every offer you will inherently in the future do a lot better. The application works on algorithms and projections both on the business side and the delivery side. If your numbers look good especially over a long period of time, you will get better offers consistently. My acceptance rate is always 98% or higher and the only time I say no is if I have to drive more than 10 mi to pick up an order. I do just fine.
@jennodine20 күн бұрын
I HATE when they make you photo the receipt. It’s so random, I find myself waiting to see if I’m gonna need it before I leave the restaurant because it’s such a PIA to do it once it’s in the bag.

Your problem is you’re so focused on getting good offers normally, that you’re stuck in the lower tier rewards. You gotta get platinum. It has made an insane difference here in Spokane
@donnak.8422Ай бұрын
I've been platinum for 5 months now. They still send me low offers quite often; when I decline it takes my acceptance rate down 1 percentage; is it still the case that you can be deactivated if it falls below 80? Or is it 70, i don't remember.
@nocturnus6Ай бұрын
@@donnak.8422 You can't get deactivated for a low acceptance rate, completion rate is the one that will get you deactivated if it falls below 80%.

Hear me out. The best way to use these gig apps is to expect not to make any money. I look for 2 dollars a mile, including my trip back to a hotspot. When I have the most success is when I just out running errands with it on in my back pocket. Otherwise, you end up waiting in your car for an hour for something actually good.
@meggison467417 сағат бұрын
I don't ever wait in an area. If a Hotspot isn't hitting, then I drive to a different Hotspot and can usually hit along the way. For a usual 4-6 hour run, i have about an hour of downtime between orders, and that is ually from when I have to drive out of my zone for a delivery
