Couple of thoughts watching this: 1. The salt was not cheating. That was literally necessary and salt should not have considered a part of the elimination diet. 2. 100% true. Vitamin c heavy break down doesn't occur until 158 degrees fahrenheit. Rare beef is 135. Though some organs have much more vitamin c. Muscle meat only has about .04% of what's needed to prevent scurvy per gram, so in a kilogram of rare beef you'd only get about 40% of vitamin c needed to prevent scurvy. though drying would also remove much of the vitamin c. You'd really need to eat rare spleen, liver, or brain

Hey everyone a little update, I accidentally cut out the part about my EOE. Symptoms reduced and had no impactions after the second week. This is not a surprise as I know that my body is reacting to a food trigger as I have done an elimination diet before. I had cystic adult acne until I went all-beef. Within 1 week my skin was perfectly clear, for the first time since I was 13 (I was 26 at the time, 27 now). I’ve tried reintroducing different foods since then, including milk, yogurt, kefir, cheese, liver, and blueberries, and every single one breaks me out except for cheese. I suspect it’s carbs that do it to me, so I’m going to try butter next. I also used to eat a lot of salt, but started getting cramps and hypnic spasms, so I had to cut that too.

In N.America for unknown thousand of years the Natives hunted and ate almost nothing but bison or other large animals. When European scientist came to the plains to study these tribes in the mid 19th century they were amazed at how healthy,strong and large they were.Men of the Sioux and Blackfeet men were all over 6' tall and there were many over the age of 100.They ate a lot of dried bison that they would store for the winters because all the bison had migrated to southern areas. They would set up traps and fences to funnel the bison into a path in order to force large herds of them off of cliffs to kill them. They did all this for thousands of years before they had horses.Horses were introduced which made it easier to kill small amounts of bison and not waste so much to spoilage at the bottom of those cliffs. Meat is what all humans evolved to thrive on. Plants are not so good for us. From personal experience I would rather eat 2#s of beef over 10#s of plants. My tummy agrees that fiber is not a good thing for my digestion. The dried bison of the plains was low salt as that wasn't readily available so they would burn green willow and other brush as a smudge smoke to keep the flies at bay. It worked for thousands of years to keep them fed and healthy.The Nez Pierce would travel 1200 miles each way from their land in what is now the state of Oregon to what is now the states of Montana/Wyoming to kill bison and make meat and take all the meat back to their villages. They did this for an untold number of years without the aid of horses.

A person's "view" on whether high LDL causes heart disease or not is irrelevant. A review on the National Institute of Health’s website titled “LDL-C does not cause cardiovascular disease: a comprehensive review of the current literature” concluded: The idea that high cholesterol levels in the blood are the main cause of CVD is impossible because people with low levels become just as atherosclerotic as people with high levels and their risk of suffering from CVD is the same or higher. The cholesterol hypothesis has been kept alive for decades by reviewers who have used misleading statistics, excluded the results from unsuccessful trials and ignored numerous contradictory observations. Additionally, as reported on UCLA Health, A new national study has shown that nearly 75 percent of patients hospitalized for a heart attack had cholesterol levels that would indicate they were not at high risk for a cardiovascular event, based on current national cholesterol guidelines. Specifically, these patients had low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels that met current guidelines, and close to half had LDL levels classified in guidelines as optimal (less than 100 mg/dL). "Almost 75 percent of heart attack patients fell within recommended targets for LDL cholesterol, demonstrating that the current guidelines may not be low enough to cut heart attack risk in most who could benefit," said Dr. Gregg C. Fonarow, Eliot Corday Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Science at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the study's principal investigator.

I wonder if you added fruits (and fruiting vegetables) to the jerky?

Biltong is far superior to beef jerky; throw in droëwors and it's pure bliss. Make sure that none of these are made with added sugars. In South Africa we have access to wetter biltong and droëwors (dried for 3 to 4 days) which makes it easier to eat i.e. solves the painful jaw problem with eating drier biltong.

Why would you need to supplement with salt when beef jerky has 600+ milligrams of sodium for each ounce?! I looked it up and no one online recommended eating beef jerky as a meal because of the high sodium content.

I tried biltong once and discovered it was a MAJOR migraine trigger for me. Went to feeling fine to curled up and pukeing levels of pain in a half hour flat. Not a good day for me. I really liked the tast of the biltong though.

Did you deduce what food is causing your autoimmunity?
@giantslug696910 ай бұрын
I ate pork (bacon) but mostly beef for like 6 months in a row and it was the best I felt in my life. It was just very pricey to maintain such a diet. Eat heavy animal fats. It is a must.
@markillingworth192910 ай бұрын
Mate, am I noticing that! Everything meat is up around $20 per kg and I am knocking off 600gm easy in the main meal. I've lost 25kg and loving the exercise I haven't been able to do for 20years but hell it's pricey.

This is the first video that’s carnivore related that somebody has mentioned flossing their teeth. Nobody has mentioned that, and it’s so important because all that meat is getting stuck between teeth, decaying, and people can’t understand why their breath smells like shit. Flossing is so important, especially if you’re mostly consuming meat.

@TheDkdazo10 ай бұрын
One thing I should say is. If you did this experiment on twins, you will get totally different results on both lol so that said everyone will get different symptoms and results. So it's good to know your own body to be healthy. And kbow what' you are eating do more research everyone. 💞

hey dude you might not see this comment but when you did that 6 month squat transformation how much did you weight before and after the transformation? I'm a cyclist and I'm looking to increase my max power outage, squatting gives leg explosiveness which will help a lot, but gaining muscle mass will be a problem because I still want to be light to be faster. Thanks.
@ConnorCurtis11 ай бұрын
Hey mate, it was at the same time as my 6 month body transformation and i actually put on 6-8kg but this method of dense training for the squat I do not think is optimal way to put on muscle mass, which is why I would think that type of training might be good for cycling but im not 100% sure. I was in a heavy calorie surplus just trying to put on weight

Hey Man, I've had EOE since middle school (24 now); Whey is my allergic trigger for it (but sometimes from some alcohol it triggers too). Not too bad once you get into the theme of purposeful dieting! I currently do not take medicines for it, although there is some anti-inflammatories you can take i believe. I feel it's gotten worse as I've gotten older.
@gregbernard446611 ай бұрын
EoE is eosinophilic esophagitis for anyone wondering. Milk was the issue for my so I cut that. EoE is basically the esophagus closing and you can't swallow food. It doesn't happen right away so many people think it is the food they choke on. If someone chokes on rice they think rice is the problem but it was really the milk to the allergen from weeks ago causing the esophagus to slowly close. There are 6 major allergens (dairy, tree nuts/peanuts, soy, wheat, eggs, fish/shellfish). Everything was easy to cut and then I got down to milk and realize I am not a cow or a baby cow or a baby human. I went vegan a year after cutting milk stopped my EOE. I did the vegan thing for ethics because I got to experience living without milk after thinking I needed it which was a lie from the big food companies.

Thanks for the video, hopefully you got a minute to answer this. I watched some of your other videos regarding hormone levels and im not sure on the time frame between the different experiments but your total T increase is pretty significant . I believe you started off at around 7.9 nmol/L , then raised it to around 13.6 nmol/L by supplementing zinc, vitamin d and magnezium. Then i think it was 2 week later you started with the tongkat ali and went from around 16.6 nmol/L to 28.1 nmol/L. Now with the jerky you went from 22 nmol/L to 23.1 nmol/L. Are you still taking the tongkat ali and/or all of the vitamin supplements. If not how have you maintained your fairly high total T level. If youre no longer taking the tongkat ali did you notice your total T level dip slightly but then level off at a higher level than prior to taking the Tongkat Ali. Thanks

Did you notice any difference in your auto immune symptoms? I get allergic rhinitis, I’ve identified a few triggers like coffee and tea, in fact I believe all hot drinks seem to affect it. I was in my 50’s before I realised milk was causing the asthma I’ve had all my life, I’m fine with cheese though.

Interesting experiment. If you haven't already, i'd like to see you do a mostly meat diet, with some vegies and fruit when you feel like it. Eggs. And no bread etc. Like an ancestral eating. To see your test results and how you feel on that diet etc.

@better_than_nothing11 ай бұрын
If you're going to do a diet like this, using jerky/biltong is probably the worst way to do this. Just eat fatty steaks or fatty ground beef. The fat is the key to staying regular and having good energy levels. Also, eat salt. It's important on an all meat diet. It will also keep you from cramping.

You need to salt when you first get on a carnivore diet. I wouldnt call it cheating at all - its almost essential for the first few weeks. Then just salt to taste or according to your activity levels.
