I had gingivitis and lots of tarter. Eventually the dentist said I had abscesses under my teeth and wanted to take 4 of my teeth out. I went as far as to schedule it. Then a couple of days before I called and told them I wanted to try something first. So I had a thought that it might be candida since I had leaky gut in the past. I began hitting the candida hard with oil of oregano and garlic and anything I could find that killed it. I removed all sugar from my diet too. Within days my teeth and gums felt better. My dentist said later that he had never seen a mouth turn around so fast. He told me “ whatever you’re doing keep doing it and you’ll have your teeth the rest of your life”. Now I only go for cleanings once a year and it takes 5 minutes. I don’t make tarter anymore. Thanks dr. Berg for your videos.

My teeth were all rotting from the inside out and falling apart. At 30 a dentist said I would need full dentures by the time I was 50. I stopped using/consuming anything with fluoride and they stopped rotting. I replaced tooth paste with baking soda and flavored it with spearmint oil. This was B4 YT and Dr Berg so I had no idea if it would help, but figured it wouldn't hurt. My teeth stopped rotting and I still have most of my teeth at 61. Everyone can clap now!.. . Thank you! *Added*: Something I should have said in the original post, don't brush your teeth with dry baking soda, it's too abrasive and will wear off enamel. Swish a little around in your mouth until its dissolved, then brush your teeth, and only a few times/week. In between, you can use un-fluoridated mouth wash, swish it around for a minute, then brush your teeth. If you don't eat junk food, and stop consuming fluoride, your teeth will last forever.

I shall always be grateful to the dentist that taught me about the efficacy and importance of daily low pressure sub gingival irrigation with multiple alternate effective anti microbial agents. I weekly alternate between hydrogen peroxide ( and I want to emphasize not industrial strength but the kind one buys at the grocery store. In fact, the larger bottle I buy says "oral debriding agent") in water, salt in water, baking soda in water. I use a curved tip syringe to deliver it all along the gum line. My gums are too tight to use an endodontic needle or cannula. But if your gingiva is detached you might want to use them. But if you do be very very gentle. You don't want to damage any tissue. Also irrigation flushes out larger food particles missed by flossing and brushing. It would probably work well with a water pik but I like the mobility of the syringe. Easy to transport and use on road trips. Also to brush my teeth I use a teaspoon of baking soda mixed with a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide.

I've been making this toothpaste on my own for about a year....minus the honey. (Expensive and messy, but I understand the properties why he included it). I'm glad Dr Berg is sharing this information. The baking soda, clove oil and peppermint oil, mixed with a little hydrogen peroxide. My mouth feels so clean after and the last few routine dental cleanings were quick, because there was VERY little tartar to scrape. Clove bud essential oil also helps with enamel remineralization. Thanks again Dr. Berg. As always, your posts are awesome. I have been doing " root planing" for several years ( dentist gave me a special round toothpic holder. U break off the 1/3rd end of a round pic, then scrape along the gumline. Nasty process, but works). After that, I take about a tsp of baking soda, add a spash of hydrogen peroxide and make it into a slurry ala toothpaste consistency. I then brush my teeth thoroughly , being bent over the sink. Do not swallow this mix. Rinse the mouth well 3x, and you'll immediatey feel much better. I do this once per week. Stay strong and well Dr Berg. We need lots more lije you!

Is baking soda still abrasive after its dissolved in water? Or is it only abrasive when it's put directly on the toothbrush?
@denisegaylord38211 ай бұрын
It's much less abrasive to begin with than other commercial products. Given the fact that it is dissolved in the solution, my thought is that it is used as a buffer, more than as an abrasive. Buffers help change pH. Used in the mouth, it would increase it from an acidic environment to one of a more pH neutral or slightly basic, reducing the bacteria's ability to form the biofilm associated with plague.

Thr fatty acids leached hydrogen out the metal at crystalline boundaries. The main concern with baking soda is the carbon it contains. Carbon has a very high negative charge and it quickly bonds ionically with free calcium and phosphorus in our saliva that is supposed to bond with and remineralize enamel. Excessive use of baking soda on the teeth over time will inhibit proper remineralization of enamel and slowly pull calcium and phosphorus right out of enamel making it more porous raising ones chances of cavities.

I found a dentist called Dr Ellie Phillips here on YT and she recommends using Xylitol after all meals. She says it's maintaining the saliva which is necessary to remineralize the teeth, it contains calcium and whatever u need. There are a few things she suggests and I won't put them all here (go look her up) but among them are keeping your mouth closed most of the time so it doesn't dry out, not breathing through your mouth for the same reason, not drinking or eating all throughout the day so that the mouth doesn't become acidic and you don't wash all the saliva away, and taking a xylitol mint or gum after every meal. The Xyltiol kills bad bacteria, feeds the good bacteria, stimulates saliva flow, helps to dislodge plaque and prevent it from sticking and keeps the PH of the mouth at a good level. I've been using Xylitol gum for several months and I'm very happy with my progress.

Wait a min... Turmeric stains teeth, right?... My dentist asked if I ate a lot of turmeric because my teeth in the back were stained in a way that suggested that. I was consuming liquified turmeric occasionally back then. So I answered yes and was surprised that she knew. She then informed me that turmeric does stain teeth so take caution. She said otherwise my teeth looked pretty good using coconut oil, baking soda and oil extracts as tooth paste, but that I do have quite a bit of small cavities between teeth to monitor so consider utilizing small amounts of flouride to combat the issues. I'm flossing twice a day and mostly using regular toothpaste, but that won't be a permanent habit. I haven't gotten x rays in over a year so we'll see if incorporating a fluoride wash once a month helped. You spoke about carbs being the issue too. Is honey low carb? I'm all for keto, but I had perfect teeth with no fillings until 38 on a high carb diet. Never flossed either. In saying that I never really drank soda or energy drinks etc. My teeth went down hill after starting a certain medication and drinking sugar free energy drinks which I can honestly feel are acidic on the teeth. I also had a temporary decline for 6 months when I used unfloridated toothpaste, still no fillings and went back on fluoride asap and went back to normal. Ancient cultures all had bad teeth because they were ancient cultures, cultures who lived in sand also injested sand which eroded their teeth. Since people keep commenting with advice and gaslighting me as to why I had dental issues - I'm not looking for advice and I said what I said as there are more reasons people have dental issues than just carbs. I like Dr Berg, but I'm not a purist when it comes to any one person's perspective ever, someone can have wisdom and knowledge but that doesn't mean everything they say is always right.
