I haven’t really questioned whether or not these cakes are switched before but looking at the comments a lot of people think they are. I would suggest showing the bakery you got the cakes from, where you saw the one or five star rating, and film a small shot of going to the bakery to pick the cakes up. I thought that the friend who is normally behind the scenes may be picking the cakes up and labeling it for you cause the boxes always look half open, if this is the case they can just use their smartphone to film the pick up. I think doing this will give you more credibility

Guys, if you would look on the inside of cakes you’ll understand that it’s not mixed up. You can see that inside 5 star cakes are soft and tasty-looking, while 1 star isn’t that good on the inside. Most of the people order ordinary cakes - not creative ones. They order simple cake to eat it and are giving stars based more on the taste, not on the look. So it could be true, that 1 star is good looking one

For anyone wondering the boxes were obviously switched you could tell because the one star box was taller to accommodate the large apple while the five star box was smaller it accommodate the regular sized hand an apple. The five star box didn’t even fit over the one star cake

The one star bakery definitely has an artist working there. Hands are very difficult to recreate, and they did an amazing job! Anyone who likes to draw knows that drawing a hand is one of the harder things to get right. I imagine it is at least just as hard to make a cake look like a hand. When he started doing these videos I was so on board and loved them...however...I'm actually really disappointed in these videos lately-- It is incredibly evident that the 1 & 5 star cakes are switched. I am a professional baker/cake decorator and worked in an establishment that specializes in fully custom, 3D and realistic-looking cakes. From the board the cakes are placed on to the airbrush and carving techniques, those materials and the time it takes to produce those pieces cost money and take true artists to recreate objects into edible form. The reason those ones are so much more expensive and look so much more realistic is because it took time and LOTS of training (most of those cake artists have likely gone to pastry school in addition to training under other artists). To falsely label them is an insult to the artists and to the bakery. Give credit where credit is due.

the fact of the matter is that some bakeries specialize in some areas (like the 5 star could be really good at wedding cakes for example) and have difficulty in other areas. You can't expect an artist to be 100% perfect with all these aspects. Realistic cakes are hard to pull off, and the one-star bakery shows that they are better at that area while they might have trouble with other areas. That's why I like this series so much. It shows that bakeries can't be perfect and that you can't always go by ratings.

Hey! I work as a cake designer at a bakery in Kingwood Texas :) from what I can see here, specifically cases like the hand cake, were for sure switched. 5 star bakerys have a reputation for a reason, and it's typically from being able to execute flawless ideas with great detail and structure. Why on earth would a one star bakery have such detailed and fine point looking work? One star implies the VAST Majority of clients have HEAVILY disliked their cake. It is also interesting to note how this man does not promote which bakery he buys from. Even tho he has stated before "I am going to have to put their names in the description, this is so amazing!" by not listing who he buys from (which is strange, because why wouldnt he want to promote an amazing bakery he's making a whole video around?) he makes sure we cannot confirm the quality of who he is buying from, therefore making it nearly impossible to confirm whether or not the cakes were switches. It all seems very fishy, from my point of view

I have seen literal 5 stars restaurants be bad, and some places where I go eat near me having 5 stars on google is not good, he said it was a tie the taste was not that good. That is what it is, the 1 star tries to be better by putting more effort on how it looks rather than the taste, but the 5 star taste good because they put more flavors and have better cakes but not realistic food designers or something.
