Arnold would be nothing on these Mass monster era. Criteria nowadays is diff from before. Many mass monsters would smoke his LEGS, back,tricept and lats. I remember looking at a Pumping Iron book at my high school library and saying to myself .." My god this man looks like one of those Greek God Statues" and the rest they say is history. I started working out at 16 because of that book & plus his book "The Education of a Bodybuilder" about his journey from a kid in Austria to 7 time Mr.Olympia which was amazing in my view. So I feel because Arnold played such a positive role in my young life at that time as lifting weights and staying healthy kept me on track to having goals in both the gym & life. So yes...Arnold was & still is the King in my view and as for his body he had a certain look to him and what I mean by that is along with his strong genetic structure he also looked athletic too meaning not like a lot of guys you see that are so massive & have that stiff look to them..

@Anal Creampie But does your mom and your missus know about Frank Zand and Bob Paris? And thinking one thing is better than another is completely subjective. Personal Preference. Most people won't know Arnold from bodybuilding... but they'll know about him and eventually find out he was a bodybuilder. Frank and Bob... well... even if they are better in bodybuilding(subjectively), they are far less known/popular as Arnold. Another thing... Bodybuilding has changed over the years. When Arnold was bodybuilding, the outlook on it was different and what the judges were judging were different as well. There was Arnold era, then the bubble gut era, then the mass monster era. Can't compare one to another because they all bodybuild for a different specificity. But if you look at everything each individual bodybuilder has accomplished, Arnold is unmatched overall. And your first reply pretty much immediately insulted or put that person down, which tells me you're extremely immature and will either not read this, or will just overlook it so that you don't have to engage in an intellectual debate. You just want to say what you want, put others down, and leave and feel good about yourself.

Arnold was the best purely because he had a lot of mass which still retained a high degree of aesthetic quality. Sergio Olivia, Serge Nubret also had these qualities. Modern bodybuilders look like slabs of meat stuck together in comparison. The clue is in the name, bodybuilding as opposed to muscle building. Shaping muscle groups to fit and match others on the body is harder than just going flat out for mass everywhere. Maybe it was his genetics but Arnold's body was beautiful as well as massive and no-one before or since has combined these two qualities better.

Physiques and PED’s evolve, eras have their champions. But if I found a magic lamp, and the genie said I could have any physique I wanted, it would still be Arnie’s 1975 Olympia physique. And as to his impact through using his physique to open other doors, and bring muscles to the mainstream- I think it’s fair to call him the father of modern physical culture.

Crazy thing is all the roles he had like on the predator then does jingle all the way . That’s just awesome

I have a much deeper and greater respect for you now, than ever before. I've always admired you and respected you as a bodybuilder and Mr. Olympian. As far as who's the greatest, I think everyone who carries the Sandow trophy is equally great in their own right. They have achieved what no other bodybuilders could. What bothers me is when some highly achieved and recognized bodybuilders discredit the Olympians and other great bodybuilder's. It is disgraceful. In my opinion, professional bodybuilders are some of the most dedicated and committed people on planet earth. They can achieve what most people want to do, but can't. Mr. Olympians are the best of those bodybuilders.

Top 3 Bodybuilders for me are Arnold, Ronnie, and Jay Cutler. Each has his own unique contribution to the world of bodybuilding and outside of it.

Frank Zane also.

Arnold is the definition of bodybuilding, he used the mind set in and out side of the sport. He approached everything from that angel, one more set on what ever you were doing ment you were that much closer to achieving your overall goal.

When you just look at bodybuilding Arnold showed us back in the days that our bodies are way more able to react to this lifestyle and that we can achieve way more than we believe... and Coleman is the proof

Arnold is no doubt the greatest bodybuilder ever. Who would want a physique like arnolds? His body was amazing.. His chest was huge as well as his arms.
@thechad6855 жыл бұрын
I've said it before I'll say it again. Arnold brought about the muscle revolution, probably involuntarily, but did. He took muscle successfully mainstream, Hollywood tough guys had to now actually look physically strong coming through the 80s. That influenced a lot of gyms to pop up in the 90s as people wanted to look that way or close to. Fast forward to now, gyms are everywhere just about. I lived and witnessed that firsthand back in the islands. Arnold is the greatest because his influence went beyond borders. The Arnold Classic is his give back to the sport. His achievements in life making it profoundly more obvious why he is g.o.a.t. I've got many favorites, Jay included... but Arnie's mark will be the type that can't be denied or played down... timeless is the Austrian Oak

Fun fact: In Austria he is'nt the Austrian but the Styrian Oak.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably by far the most recognized face and bodybuilding. Also in my opinion he broad bodybuilding to different level. B like what Michael Jordan did for basketball. So in my opinion he is the most dominant figure in bodybuilding.

Is it just me that didn't like Ronnie Coleman's physique? He just looked weird and out of proportion. I don't deny that the guy was massive but he just looked wrong!

@thewhinjaninja36105 жыл бұрын
@@alphaakagreatestmofokeng1410 That's debatable depending on opinion. Yes, he won 8 Mr O's but in my opinion at least 2 he shouldn't have got. The guy's last win he looked like shit. A Mr O should have size, proportion, symmetry and definition. Ronnie was all about size!
@gm61015 жыл бұрын
The wins TO ME, dont mean shit. The judges all choose the winner for different reasons, some good some bad. But why Arnold is the goat for me is because of the proportions he chose to sculpt out, the symmatry he chose. His chest is iconic and his posing is underrated af, quick with the transitions as well. Him and Frank Zane are the goats imo.

I agree Jay,with the vision and accomplishments Arnold conquered and the all eyes on him public in and out look he deserves the number one spot. He's representation outside the box can't be matched. So much more than being on stage as a competitor.
