Just wondering how you’d go from there, do they provide the skeleton code for the UI elements and you just reference them in your code?

@@neelpatel3844 i’d assume the designers gave him the color codes aswell. He won’t get any ui code from them since that’s not their job, he just get’s the PSD files (or adobe xd files). As kalle is the creator + dev of the app, it‘s now his job to build the app by referencing the given design and add in the functions he planned for the app. Normally, as a dev you‘d get a brief on what the app should do and then how the app should look like and work from there.

@@neelpatel3844 Writing the UI code is the job of a frontend developer. The UI/UX designer's job is to provide the sketches for the design, choose the colors, fonts, and layouts of an app or website. What you get from the UI/UX designer is usually illustrator or photoshop files, and most of the time, fonts and color codes for every page. Then the frontend dev references those and actually writes the UI code.

Yeah, designers and developers work together to build out the solution. There are some services that utilise drag and drop gui's that have pre-built code behind them, however the best recommendation would be to work with dev's and also to learn coding languages yourself.

Most of the time you get access to assets like stylesheets, html files which display the screens he showed us, color pallets, logos, .... Now you "only" have to include the assets, translate the html to your specific language (like jsx/react) and render them with your dynamic data.

I know this is old, so I'm just putting this here for future people. Don't use no-code for the frontend of mobile apps! It's so bad. The marketing and hype makes it seem like it's finally good, but it's just buggy trash that increases the problems of technical debt worse than anything I've ever even heard of. Possible to make a design into an easy frontend? Yes. Is it useable - let alone maintainable? Na. WordPress is great, and no-code is the future, but it's not here yet for mobile. Not even close.

I really like that the higher prices gets you better designs, but with even the starting designs being decent. Not like the Fivrr from a few years ago where suddenly something in the middle price bracket was really low quality (you can see lots of funny video about that on YT).

First designer did the best job imho - was very easy to understand even from slides. Other two - very convoluted, lots of numbers, hard to read graphs, maybe they have better gfx but in terms of UX I would work with the cheapest option.

Wow, I'm super interested in this. I'd love to see a video on updating your existing app. Do they give you alternative drawable resources for different screen densities? Its cool to see these designs but then you have to either go out and create some of those wild custom "widgets" like that graph or you have to find a third party lib to assist which may not always map 1-to-1 with what you want or support your API version. This has always been an issue for me. In any case, cool as hell man. Keep up the good work!

the bad thing about designers(UI) is that they only make screens, with just one state. So, as we know(devs), there are many state(business logic) in the life cicle of an app. If they dont make you a good design system with atomic design, well, it's just a fancy screen/static ui page ! Don't get me wrong, it's a good starting point, but paying $ 700 or more, I would expect something like the above.

I think this points out that you can outsource parts of your project to others and save a TON. Imagine if you hired 1 employee for this and tried to make a company out of it. You'd pay that person more in 1 week, than it cost you for what you got here. IMO, the real issue is trying to find one that is good, with all the fake reviews, it's hard to know who's actually good and who's not. More so with programming and other things where you have to be more knowledgable to determine what is good and what is not.

I get that the purpose of designers was getting the point across of how it might look and there are problem with actually getting stuff to put there without copyright issues, but I am still supremely pissed off by how next to each exercise there was a picture of... the frigging wrong exercise!

Idea for video: try to make python app with kivymd. They made google's material design framework for kivy, and now they even created hot reload, real time reload so you can see how app is changing while you code. Their youtube channel name is KivyMD. It's easier and faster to make kivy apps now.
