I platinumed the Mafia Remake and loved it with one big problem

I somehow did the race on my first try on my first playthrough, but when i was replaying the game it took me over 20 tries to finish the race first

It's the one part of the story I wish they fleshed out more. Why did the Don turn into Morello? Why would he ruin a good thing if he already ran the city?

6:25 He's told to blow it up to give Sam a distraction to take advantage of at the funeral, which is happening on the next block. Made less sense in the original 8:10 You can sneak this part

You could just cheat in the original release, so its relatively hard to maintain concentration on something so dull by the last lap.

I personally find it really easy, well I failed horribly in the first play through but after understanding the driving, I did it first try on the second play through, but I also like racing games so.

For the race, I recommend using the magical tool of breaking. You know, lowering your speed before turns. Coz it seems you didn't try that at all, lmao

Correction: In fourth mission he is still just a errand boy, hes not made man till alter, that's the mistake original have. Edit: Also race is really not that difficult, just don't crash into others, mind your speed (slow down on turns) and don't drive like in need for speed.

I’m surprised no one seems to know that you can use the ram button to take turns way better for the race. It makes super easy and I completed it on my first try on my classic difficulty play through

You guys should really try more realistic racing games to get some experience with cars because I completed this game twice on keyboard and a controller and finished first every time without dirty racing on classic. Its like the perfect difficulty to play this race on because it actually feels like a real life race with this hard handling the old race cars had and the ai is has just the right balancing.

I got to the last cigarette card in the last mission and it was visible but couldn’t be picked up. I deleted and reinstalled, changed settings, all kinds of things to try and make it work. It wouldn’t. So I’m 1 card from a completion and it sucks. Thanks 2K

The mafia race wasn’t so hard, but I play racing games my whole life and it only took me 4 tries to get it. But I’ve been looking at videos of all the times people can’t finish it… why is it that hard for everyone?

i think you just answered yourself 😂 because the race is designed as a proper race, like you'd see in GT or something like that, whereas the actual game isn't a racing game. So heaps of players (like myself) dont have a heap of experience playing racing games, meaning it's disproportionately hard

Race was easy for me, I have also platinumed this game. The part that almost made me gave up was the armored police truck chase in night. If you are careless and get little health in one of the early checkpoints, later ones are near impossible on highest difficulty, I almost though I will not be able to do it. The race this super simplified compared to original Mafia, where it did take me 45 tries to win it when I was a kid 😂 Now though it is one of my favorite missions, and I even installed racing mod for original game to run championship through various areas of map

if anyone is having trouble with the race, it is a bit cheesy but it works, when the race begins turn around and drive to the swift cola sign quick. once your there wait block off the cars and make almost a barrier. once you do that 9 times out of ten they stay there for some reason and just go through the race as normal.

Played Mafia2 ages ago on PC and thought it was good, but you're right nowhere near the highs of Mafia DE. Still haven't played 3 yet.
