For a slightly different brutal experience, Jacksonville Florida on a 100F + day with 95-100 % humidity ! Just going from your home out to your car , you’re totally soaked .

I live in the Phoenix, AZ area. Rates at the really expensive courses here are half price or less between June and September. I might play 2-3 times a month during our summers here. The keys are to book a tee time BEFORE 630am, take a large thermos of extra water and refill a water bottle ever 3-4 holes, a big hat, park in the shade (if any; some desert courses don’t have many trees!) and be done before 10:30-11am. Hydration is most important, and the second you feel like it’s too hot or you start to feel a little wonky you LEAVE! No ifs, ands, or buts!

I had a buddy that lived in Phoenix, and I would come visit in the hot "off season" to take advantage of those low rates and beautiful courses. I was younger and fitter then, but I really loved playing in the desert. It was crazy having those courses to yourself, because hardly anyone plays when it gets that hot.

Here in Chandler/Phoenix it's a deadly catch-22. Summer rates allow you to play some courses that are just untouchable for us common folk during the winter. But you have to hydrate! Water up the day before, no soda, caffeine, and especially no beer the day of. Bring a gallon of water with electrolytes to the course. Mineral salt is your best friend. Cool towels and a hand mister are a must. Stretch between holes to avoid lactic acid build up. If you've ever had inner thigh cramps at 2 in the morning after 110°+ golf, you know the importance of all of the previously mentioned items. Just plan ahead and don't skip anything and hot AF summer golf is manageable.

I live in Dallas, TX and I can tell you that when you play in heat over 100 degrees, and add in high humidity, it is much worse. I've played in Arizona in the summer and it was actually nice with the low humidity. Don't get me wrong, it was hot like 110, but it really is a different heat. In low humidity when you sweat it immediately evaporates cooling your body. In high heat and high 70% plus humidity your sweat doesn't evaporate quickly and doesn't cool, causing you to sweat even more soaking your clothing and gloves and causing you to quickly dehydrate. Playing in the desert is like being in a dry sauna, playing in Dallas or Houston is like playing in a steam room.

We held our club championship this past weekend in Valdosta, GA, and I think the heat index was 110° +++. Guys were dropping out like flies. Best score on Sunday in our flight was 76, and the guy that won, who is scratch, shot 74-77. Overall winner was +4 for two rounds, and he is Sepp Straka's younger brother, who is normally in the mid-60's score wise. The extreme heat just sucks the life out of you, especially when combined with our southern humidity. We're in discussions with the head pro to move our club championship to late September or October when the weather is not so hot. No matter how you look at it, golf is definitely not fun in these conditions.

Desert Dunes in Desert Hot Springs, CA (just north of Palm Springs) - IMO, it’s a desert links course with a fantastic design by Robert Trent Jones Jr. They used to host the Canadian Open there years back. Management has been questionable to say the least, so it’s not always in the best shape, but the greens are usually lightning fast year round. You’ll see tons of wildlife, from bunny’s, hawks, and roadrunners, to bobcats, mountain lions, and most definitely, snakes. July’s highs average 100 degrees & there’s not much shade. Additionally, DHS ranks in the top most crime ridden cities in California. Gotta be the most dangerous course I know, but also one of my favorites. Cheers to 1 million!! Let’s Go!! 🚀

Omaha, Nebraska - We have some really high humidity, especially early in the mornings with lots of dew. Typically, the humidity will be in the 90's with a dew point of 75 or so. While the temps might be in the 70's, you'll feel very uncomfortable. I've played in Laughlin, NV with the temps around 105 and in Palm Springs with temps over 100 and it's more comfortable than what you will experience here in Omaha, Headed to Palm Springs next month (September) and the temps will still be over 100 but I'm actually looking forward to it.

Not sure what the humidity was like for you, but playing in Houston during the summer can be brutal due to how humid it gets. I rock sleeves, the cart fan and start chugging Gatorade before even teeing off. I avoid drinking alcohol too because when that heat hits it’s no joke. Doesn’t get to 120s but 98 will feel like 110 just because of how humid it is.

We play each of the 5 tee boxes and pay out accumulative net and gross scores at the end of the 5 rounds. We also pay out for each tee round. First year we had 35 sign up, the next 75 and next year we estimate close to 100 people. I'd love to have you play a round at our club or do something similar as a challenge on your channel.

I played in Merced, CA in their annual July Tournament and at the perimeter next to an open field, the temp reached 110. Felt every bit of 110. Dry heat is still hot. Breathing 110 degree air is not appealing, keeping hydrated is critical to maintaining a safe body heat. Having felt 110 degrees, I cannot imagine 120, let alone 130. That temp would sear your lungs to breath in, incredible, good job to finish 18 holes! Love your videos

Live in Vegas and golf year round it can brutal... a bunch of guys in my group are Air Force, and bring salt tabs which help a ton. Drinking too much water can actually make you feel worse (found out the hard way once). Props to you for doing it!

That is crazy heat man! Thanks for sacrificing for your fans lol. What was the humidity like? I’d imagine there wasn’t much bc it being the desert and all but was it difficult breathing like in super hot and humid weather?

Played there in November a few years ago. Course is very nice and weather was great. I was on the course early in the morning and only had to share it with a family of coyotes. 😅

I live and play in Phoenix AZ. Every once in a while we will play in the summer afternoons and it is not fun. Its hard to pass up up the $12.00 green fees. I did buy a mister to put on the cart and that helps a ton.

Was playing in Thailand last April with 45 Degrees Celsius and that was HOT. Can imagine how 55 degrees would feel. Ahahaha. Awesome!

Some courses in the Phoenix area used to have misters on the carts and they would bring you cold mango towels during the round.

Out of your mind! They built a golf course here! Might there be a mid winter contrast round? Do the maintenance staff work at night? Thanks so much to you and your crew. Except for the heat, the layout looks wonderful.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thats DRY heat in Death Valley. In Minnesota we have moist heat. That dry heat is about equivalent to 75 degrees here. I play that all the time, don't even break a sweat!!

My buddy and I do a PS trip every June. We usually still get there when it’s mild-ish and play early morning. Two years ago we were feeling good and decided to go out for a 2nd round starting about 11am. By the time we hit the 7th hole (think it was at desert Willow) it was 117. I was feeling a little delirious and it wasn’t even fun. Needless to say we got out of there quickly and got indoors

For anyone who is wondering, ball travels farther in higher elevations and shorter in low elevations. Reason for that would be air pressure and gravity
@danielwarner7734

It’s safe to say that gravity is would be considered a constant, using a 3 mile difference in lowest to highest golf course elevation, when using the gravitational force of attraction formula.

Great idea for video. Living in Texas I take the end of July and all of August away from golf. Possum Kingdom is a dangerously course here due to copperheads everywhere with signs to warn.

As a heat loving Canadian this has been on my bucket list for years. The hottest I've ever experienced is 39c (102f) and I was wearing a fairly thick jacket as I was cold ... in fact I won't even think about wearing shorts unless it's above 30c (86f) as I know I will get cold and take forever to warm up. Watching this video only made me want to do Death Valley in July even more but unfortunately all my friends hate the heat so I'll never have anyone to do the trip with. And yes if you're wondering Canadian winters are fucking hell for me and I avoid being outside longer than a minute at all costs ... unfortunately for me I still have to clear my driveway which can take over an hour when it snows 6+ inches overnight but because Canada is shit I'm basically forced to live in that crap life unless I don't know, maybe our country buys one of the Virgin Islands so that I could move and be happy year round

Really hard for me to read all the comments from people who live in Phenix, Texas and other hot areas of the US. I honestly believe yall are blowing it out of proportion on how hot it feels ... 102f and I was wearing a fairly thick jacket .. how much hotter can 10-20 degrees feel, maybe jacket off? Any of you Americans (excluding Alaskans) want to swap identities and citizenships with just one stipulation, no switching back after you've experienced Canadian winter
