Whenever I see a new person playing a dmc game, it’s always nice to watch them learn to play and freak out over on how to play. I recommend this game if you either have a PS4 or switch. Mainly switch because you get to play with a mode known as freestyle, letting you experience the styles a lot easier, learn more combos in a slow but steady pace, and most importantly, letting you use all the weapons in an easy way. Have fun getting through the rest of the game though.

Having access to the weapons at all times is handy, especially when you can combos from weapon and style switching. Beowulf sword master then switching to Coyote-A gunslinger to quick silver Devil trigger, that shit makes it fun to play DMC3 on switch.

Especially for someone that enjoys combos and as my friend calls it when I play "Toying with your food" because I keep taunting the demons or just cancelling attacks over and over again doing barely any damage, but keeping them stunned lmao

To be honest to you guys the minor issue of freestyle gameplay is where it can get overwhelming and confusing at times if you don't know how to use the different devil arms and guns.

Read the prequel manga. And the first novel. The manga may not be finished but it shows the beginning of Dante and Vergil's rivalry in a truly heartwrenching manner. And the novel is about Dante or Tony Redgrave's life as a mercenary before opening Devil May Cry. Oh and the Switch port has the ability to change styles on the fly like later DMCs.

Fun fact; The version of Devil May Cry 3 (Which is the Special Edition) released in the US is actually an updated one from the original Japanese release because first time players found the AI difficulty VERY hard, even in the easiest settings, which was true. Imagine releasing a game with notoriously hard AI difficulty that the Capcom had to release the overseas versions with less difficult AI.

This is actually not quite right - the original Japanese release was easier than the first American release. What happened was, the American version removed easy mode and cranked the normal difficulty up to the Japanese hard difficulty. The reason was apparently the publisher decided American gamers wanted it to be harder. The Special Edition reverts the normal difficulty level and re-adds the easy setting, making it fall back in line with the Japanese version. It's confusing.
