Aligning himself with Wei would have been interesting. Cao Cao’s entire anti establishment campaign was started after his fiancee was raped and murdered by someone higher in social class than him. From there he began a campaign of dismantling all power structures and social classes he could.

Honestly I very much enjoyed the gameplay of 6 growing up, in color scheme ability to destroy the gates and Siege equipment, the weapon cha ge and renbu held it back but as a young kid I saw it as a refreshing change, so my personal golden age was 4,5,6 with 7 having an enjoyable story but not holding my attention like previous games and 8 performing better then 7.

I still remember back in DW3 4 and 5 when you'd have to go to some forums online to find out how to obtain each character's 4th weapon. It was cool and unique to see each character having their own signature weapon. But It really was the golden age for DW. I still miss Destiny mode and hope they eventually go back to expand on that some time.

I buying it as ive bought every single warriors game, but my issue is the worry of replayability, DW3 is my favourite because seeing each individual characters story was great, Playing as a pirate with gan ning in the 1st mission, or as LuBu's General with Zhang Liao story etc, character stories are my favourite compared to kingdom stories. But the fact we could use so many characters meant sooooo much replayability. But with just one character im worried

This is my first video of yours I have seen, and it guaranteed a sub from me. As a fellow fan of the franchise I appreciated the feel of genuine assessment of the game. I played the demo and had fun with it however, for me the no CC was the no buy point for me personally. The reason being I have purchased all but maybe 3-4 warriors titles one of those being the original, I have also consumed the 3K storyline in virtually every storyline from books to shows/movies. For me there is nothing they can show me or tell me in the story that I probably don’t already know. The only thing missing is a storyline that you can go through with a CAC that feels like a natural part of the story which this would have been perfect for, I mean they have 4 CACs including the MC. With that said I believe people should definitely give it a chance because gameplay wise it’s a step in the right direction, just not the step I was looking for and that’s ok I’ll still be looking forward to the next one.

@ I like that you brought up Wo Long. I feel this is what Wo Long should’ve been as opposed to another Nioh clone which I also enjoy. I believe had they gone this route with Wo Long it would’ve set a new base/precedence for DW going forward sooner, giving them more to build on for now. Overall I’m just happy they are making strides in the right directions. Looking forward to the eventual play through, I’ll be locked in for every episode I’m living the game vicariously through you 🤣.

Sun Ce being called Soon Sir is one of my earliest memory of this franchise. Hearing it being called different is weird ngl. In the future i do hope thay there will be more update for contents. The before battle brief also need narration. It would be best of it is narrated by either faction/battle commanders for small factions and by the stratergist for big factions. atm from what i've seen it's just a bunch of man going yes yes.

Oh no, Origin painted Shu in even worser light didn’t it? I don’t mean they portrayed Shu as the “villain”, precisely somewhat the opposite. Liu Bei’s no saint, he’s cunning as he is ambitious, but true he is more benevolent to the commoners compared to his contemporaries. No, they made a crazy unlikeable fanatic fanatic about Shu, which puts Liu Bei’s more cunning manipulations and actions in a very hypocritical light, thus painting the Shu faction in an even worser light…. I don’t like this though. But that’s just me personally , overall, I still think the audience will receive the story of Origin pretty well.

My problem is even in great works like The Ravages of Time, Liu bei is clever and not some goody two shoes he still has a compelling character you can follow and enjoy but not playing 9 and seeing others review origins I feel like this might be a pitfall that the devs don't even care for.

Agreed, some of my top characters are in that faction but I hate playing their story since it's so laced with them being "Benevolent", "For Justice", "Honourable" etc compared to everyone else. Meanwhile one of their best generals abducts a 13 year old girl and makes her his wife.

I will be getting this game, as I have gotten every iteration of Dynasty Warriors. However, I have to admit I am not going to like the cloning of weapons, some of the VA choices, and I am not a fan of the Wei bad mentality…I will still play, but I always find myself returning to DW5 Complete (5 & 5XL) or 7/8; I loved the VAs during the aforementioned period of Dynasty Warriors games and the unique weapons for specific characters (Sun Ce’s Tonfas were a huge fav for me, used on a lot of custom characters in both 7 and 8 Empires games. I may get used to the new VAs but I don’t think I will ever forget the best VAs…it just makes me throw the question “How do we need different VAs for characters every several games yet Japan has managed to keep the same VAs in each iteration, at the very least keep the voices mostly the same when VAs change for any reason?” Maybe I am in the minority but if Japan can keep the same VAs, there is no reason we can’t.

Almost all Romance Of the Three Kingdoms games, movies or TV dramas always makes Cao Cao and Wei to be the bad guys but in reality Cao Cao is the most capable leader of actually uniting the country. If not for Zhuge Ling joining Shu and pushing back against Wei. The country would have been united under Wei way earlier in History before Sima Yi gain too much power and took control of the Wei court with his Sons finally dethroning the Wei emperor and putting the end to the Three Kingdoms era. I’m looking forward to playing this and hopefully they emphasize more on Sima Yi and his sons along with the Jin Factions.

For a musuo, the combat/fighting is really 'the game'. If the combat etc is clean and well done then that is enough of a sale for me.

I mean, i used to play the games up until 7 before finally moving on and ALWAYS preferred SHU over the other factions and would play with them first. So no issue for me there. Never cared for Wei personally & Wu was pretty good with some cool characters to play with back in the day.

Almost everyone has said this is a great "reboot", the endgame is a real bummer. Endless modes were dam near more fun than the story in previous games. Plus Zhou Tai is my favorite character and it sounds like I won't get to use him
