Ngl, the moment I saw Jewels returning as a currency, I got Union X flashbacks. I logged in for 1,200 days on the dot. And I was F2P until the FF7 Remake banners came out. Despite all that I managed to 100% the Story on both difficulty modes thanks to you and your Discord. I also made a Discord group with my old guild, so I hope we can at least reunite in ML.
@magicbologna6 ай бұрын
that game was terrible. it actuaslly got WORSE as it went along, as teh core battle mechnics started off somewhat intersting and well defined and only got more and more pointless
@taqresu58656 ай бұрын
@@magicbologna I never said it wasn't. There's a long list of problems with the game, but trying to complete it as a F2P was an interesting challenge, albeit, quite an uphill battle as time went on. I tried a self imposed challenge to deny to gacha element of the game. At most, I spent maybe $60 over the course of 4 years, but I managed to do a lot by playing it smart. The only content that was truly impossible was PVP, and even then I was pretty decent compared to the rest of my guild. Pointless or not, it's kinda fun to include self imposed challenges.

I was part of the beta too and it was honestly nice to have a KH game that, while having gacha elements, actually /played/ like a Kingdom Hearts game. I think a lot of people will be surprised by Missing-Link when it releases properly.

First thing I’m gonna do is teleport to Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia and see if I find any Easter eggs there. These salt flats are likely the inspiration for the final world in KH3 so I’m betting there may be something there to check out. And happy to have you back, Damo 🎉
@strangejett13946 ай бұрын
Yeah, right. Unless you live close to Bolivia, you're either going to have to grind to oblivion and back to get that much AP or you're going to have to buy in-game currency. Plus I highly doubt they will put any easter eggs there, but maybe.

You know what still bugs me? The Master of Masters. I can’t shake the feeling he’s more connected to the darkness than you think. If we look at the keyblades connected to him, they are all “dark“ keyblades. Terra‘s chaos ripper. The Souls Eater and Way to Dawn - both Rikus keyblades. Vanitas‘ Keyblades as well as the „No Name“ also known as the most stylish keyblade. All of them feature the eye of the master. You know he acts as a being of light but he’s always watching from the shadows. Kinda shady behavior. And I love it.
@joeplows79622 ай бұрын
Only one keyblade has the eye of the master. The others just have eyes that are not connected. Also none of those keyblades are "dark" keyblades.

Something that Damo didn't fully go into was the Glow or Rainbow pieces. They actually have a specific feature where you can turn the glow on or off, and if it's turned on the glow actually makes the piece stronger. He did say that when you get one of these pieces it permanently decreases the MP use of that one and that is true. I also think each Glow piece has a specific Glow ability. For example I had a Glow Captain Hook and it's ability was 20% more damage or something like that. Just thought I'd try and explain it a little bit more. 😁 Thanks for posting this video Damo, I also played the Beta, but barely explored all of these features haha will definitely play a lot more when this comes out.

11:20 This bit was especially funny considering that even since KH1 there were chests that couldn't be immediately opened with a keyblade. Most memorably being the Blizzard chest from Traverse Town. Great video. My only concern is that they won't add that many pieces to the game outside of the gacha. Don't want to either have to crack open chests or crack open my wallet just to get new commands you know?

tbh I still genuinely wish that Missing link was more like Genshin and Wuthering Waves. Something about how Missing Link looks right now just doesn't capture the kind of amazement and wonder that I associate with Kingdom hearts. And I feel a more open world gameplay would have fit the IP so well Not to mention the interest for gacha games have been steering towards that direction. It definitely feels like Missing Link was conceptualized around the time when Pokemon Go was popular and SE was just so slow in developing and planning that they fell behind in the trend

As someone who played Pokemon Go for over a year, this seems to have actively observed the places that Go fell down and worked to improve them, which is appreciated! The touch mode in particular is such a good feature for disabled players who can't play in GPS mode, which has been a massive issue for Pokemon Go.
@benedict69626 ай бұрын
This sounds amazing with tons of features that make the whole GPS concept work. But I also don't see myself enjoying this kind of gameplay for days on end. I wonder what fun is there to be had if you only sit down to spend AP once a month or something.
@philgaimz98476 ай бұрын
Having a way to actively earn AP is going to be really nice compared to other games that have an AP system, that's really smart. I just hope that I'm able to beat and record footage of all the story stuff without feeling like I have to dedicate every second of my free time to grinding lol
@coltdeedede6 ай бұрын
Initial thoughts in order of importance: 1) Damo being back with KH mobile content is such a W for the community. 2) Really interested to see the story content and really interested to see if this game will survive more than a few months - SE has had such a bad track record with mobile in the past few years and I feel like their game design chops as a whole have been behind the curve. Presenting game design concepts that are years old and still miss the mark of the current standards (For example and in my opinion, Rebirth's "Open World" and Towers / Missing Link's Pokemon Go mechanics)

This is an odd and (slightly) unrelated comment, but, I kind of appreciate how you're pretty much silent whenever _Square_ is silent about Kingdom Hearts stuff It basically helps keep me from being disappointed about lack of news or barely-news, because I know if there was actually a _big_ announcement that you'd say something about it, as opposed to constantly following non-news getting me invested just to realize there was still nothing over and over (TL;DR I appreciate the relevance-based activity of your uploads!)

So with chests since you can choose which banner to use them on, can you save the rarer ones after said banner has ended? Like could I save a rainbow chest to the next banner and pull from said chest, or do they go away once the banner has ended?

@Illinaut5526 ай бұрын
Having touch mode alone makes this significantly better than both pokemon go and monster hunter now. It's hard to play those two consistently because of the real life limitations. Being able to go anywhere on the map, while still using a real life map is really interesting. Especially compared to monster hunter now which was probably my biggest disappointment for a mobile game since how limited encounters are despite how expensive upgrades are.

As someone who lives in an extremely rural area I feel like this game will be literally impossible to play for me (or at least that was the case with Pokemon GO)
@damo6 ай бұрын
It's way more friendly than Pokemon Go is for a rural player, the script for the follow up video to this has some pretty direct comparisons. Heartless spawn at your location every few minutes, Restore Points exist on basically every non-major road, & from what I can tell so do Raids, Treasure Chests and Piece Posts. And you can take all the resources you grind locally and spend them to teleport around the world wherever you want. In Pogo it's very possible that you won't have any pokemon, pokestops, gyms, routes, anything anywhere near you if you live in a rural area.

Not gonna lie, for a "PokemonGoLike", I'm actually impressed, the touch mode, teleport, locked screen auto, everything sounds great, actually at the moment it seems to be waaaaay user friendly than pokemon go (seriously, people need to spent money on auto catchers and go through the hoops to "move freely", and let's not talk about remote raids, meanwhile this game ENCOURAGES IT). Might give it a fair shot, though as a gacha, let's see how long it takes to inevitable degenerate horribly. PD. They really need to fix that raid piece issue

I was wondering how smoothly you think transitioning between phone and tablet will be? I'm hoping a Square Enix account will make transition easy, I'm planning to do GPS stuff in hands free mode on my phone when I'm out and about and then do major story content on a tablet, so in theory I should be able to move easily between the two.
