I think too many people emphasize skill expression in league. Any champ can be skill expressive, whether it's a qiuyana doing a crazy wall jump flash ult 3 dash combo, or from a nasus who has 350 stacks at 20 mins. There is so much macro play in league that simpler champions still have plenty of ways too show how good they are at the game. I often find it even more impressive when a simple champ stomps a newer 300 years champ who has 10 different ways to fight the enemy and still looses.

@@raresradoi39 he's not. Is not even just his kit in a duel. A good tryndamere HAS to know experience or he can't win, end of the argument. @@raresradoi39 sorry then fellow, I didn't understand then. Yeah. Though I think, even the way of referring to him isn't correct. He is not in any way a "dumb" champion. If people are dumb or noob and then lost to his simply mechanics, then is their problem. Ah but when all of them know, especially your opponent laner, how to play against a tryndamere. Is when the real thing begins, and he proves to be a a champion with a simple strategy (that a lot of other champions has too) with very difficulty to achieve perfectly. You play tryn right? Have more respect then. Having to play always and I say always with the melee technique and know what to do in every moment or you are worst than death, is more hard than just using some fucking aoe cc and damage at distance aiming the mouse just in one direction. Tryndamere requires almost or even more the skill of an adc, but long story short the knowledge of a experienced player and THE BALLS only these experienced player with him has. People don't realize that he is a champ where mistakes are literally at just 1 second frame, and you pay them dearly.

The fact remains that 'simple' is not an antonym for 'difficult'; it is an antonym for 'complex'. Champs like Trynd are so fun because you have a few mechanics that you can slowly master

@sadscientisthououinkyouma1867

Thank you, I would even argue in LoL that simple champs are harder than complex champs. If a champ has a lot of outplay potential unless they are faced with an opponent playing perfectly they can mess up part of their outplay and still be fine, a simple champ only really has 1-2 ways to outplay you and 1 of them is playing around vision which all champs can do. Complex champs can often outplay you in numerous ways or escape punishment for their mistakes, Akali is the perfect example. Akali has 3 dashes, a slow, with flash she has 4 dashes, and an invisibility that restores energy allowing for more dash opportunities. If Akali makes a mistake she can recover with relative ease even if her lane is harder for said mistake. Now compare that to say a Yi, what mobility does Yi have? A targeted strike that prevents him from being targeted for a second and his R which allows him to run away. If Yi makes a mistake odds are he dies, there is no shroud to save him and any champ with sticking power will be able to catch his R. Maybe if he has Q he could Q a jg camp over a wall, but that is extremely situational and requires vision of said camp. I would go as far to say that Complex Champs have a privilege over simple champs. Complex Chapms by nature to be appealing to the average player MUST include some form of forgiveness if they fuck up. And almost all complex champs have that exact thing.

@@Vuosta It's basically to League what Elemental shaman is (well was, at least) to WoW raiding. You had like 3 abilities. But if you didn't use them god damn perfectly mechanically. In tandem with flawless cooldown/proc management. You did literal 0 damage. So everyone called it the braindead noob spec, because 3 buttons. Yet everyone sucked at it. Because the perfection in execution that was required simply wasn't possible for a solid 99.9% (actually even more, but meh) of the player base. It's usually when you see a really high level player of a spec/champion like that. Where you have that "WTF is this even the same champion?!" moment you get when watching Foggedftw playing trynd. I swear it feels like his ult is somehow twice as long as normal, his triumph heals for twice as much and his q always saves his tower dive without needing ult. The fact that something, so simple, can be mastered to such a degree is one of the truest forms of art to me.
@majorscrub2856
@majorscrub2856 3 жыл бұрын
@@sadscientisthououinkyouma1867 Literally this. Some characters have answers to pretty much every problem, so you don't need to use the kit perfectly to win. As an example Fiora, if she gets ahead alot of champions just arent allowed to play the game against her, but even if she falls behind she has so much outplay potential that she can still secure a kill and come back into the game. Compared to someone like garen, where if you fall behind and drop two kills there is very little in your kit that allows you to outfight your opponent.

While I agree that Tryndamere can be fun and is all right as a champion there are some issues that make him really frustrating to play against. Primarily his ultimate, the effect is fine but the thing that makes it really annoying is the fact that it can always be cast. Meaning there is no counterplay against it and all a Garen or a Cho Gath can do is either wait it out or hope he is an idiot and doesn't use it in time. This immunity against silence and suppress is what annoys me most since it essentially removes all counterplay. The second annoying part is the crits but those are just based on luck and at least he doesn't get 100% crits for basically free. (unlike a certain other champion).

As a Trynd onetrick, I love this video. Tryndamere is basically the opposite of Kassadin in that Kassadin is very hard to survive on but one you do it's a steam roll that is extremely easy. Meanwhile, Tryndamere is very easy to have impact on the game because all you need to do to have impact is to press r, but to carry on tryndamere requires near perfect macro and patience. As for the "unskilled" parts, champions like Qiyana, Akali, Gwen have much longer invincibilities and there are loads of champs that have much more unfair mechanics than "press r ghost right click". I would much rather be on the receiving end of a Tryndamere. I hope Riot makes more unskilled champs like tryndamere.

@@Artyohm_ The thing with Lillia is that yeah, she has an easier time dodging, but the second you don't dodge you just fucking die. On Darius for example now I know how to dodge, I know how to bait abilities, I know how to predict skillshots and while I won't be dodging every mystic shot I will dodge enough slows and CC to get my 5 stack and win the fight. On Tahm Kench I can kite in melee with the slows on his kit and the extra range of Frostfire. I land my Q- Auto and walk just slightly away so the Darius or Camille have to E me if they want a counterattack or burn their Q/W thinking I'm going away while in reality I'm just waiting for my auto to be back up. It's especially noticeable in ARAMs, mid or in botlane where I play really aggro against heavy skillshot lanes and still don't get hit. . . Usually. . . Not enough to lose anyway. Shen has s very easy to grasp kit, but his trading patterns and utilising passive shield mechanics are soo specific and intricate that makes a difference between ordinary shen player and a player like you who kills his opponents level 2-3 every game. Tryndamere is not just about mechanics, he has his own playstyle and is far from a simplistic champion.

As a Janna player, you usually want to use your q at the same direction you plan to kite or escape so it’s harder to dodge. There are so many similar mechanics in League which seems to be a skilled play for an other player but it’s pretty common for the OTPs. It’s always fun to get to know these plays and understand the game even better this way in my opinion. Her movement is amazing tho. I hope i could say something new since i have learnt so many from you. Amazing video btw:)

Having played both league and dota, can confidently say that the reason i picked league in the end was how smooth the game felt. Also i would love to hear more of your thoughts on skill expression, feel like there’s a lot of potential in that topic :)

Hi Petu! Really great video, probably one of your best so far (if not the best)! I never write comments, but I figured because of the effort you put into this video, and the pure enjoyment I got out of it, it definitely warrants one! I loved how you created clear and fluid segments in the video, paired together with gameplay that matched the voiceover which lead to a really pleasurable watching experience. Perhaps the biggest (in my opinion) positive aspect of this video was your personal touch. Perhaps it seems a bit vague to you (having created the video), but browsing through countless videos of LoL content that all follow the same, exhausted mold of "entertainment", yours comes as a breath of fresh air. Keep on doing what you are doing. Your own ideas are unique to you (obviously, one might say), but few content creators actually trust their own judgement, but instead lean on a tried and tested model for content creation that worked once, but since has become mundane. Trust your own judgement and you'll continue to gain viewers that actually last, in comparison to one hit wonders with a lifespan as microscopic as the creativity of their content. If I may offer a piece of criticism, it was the absence of music during your videos. If I were to guess, you might simply prefer it to playing something that has been heard a million times over. If you feel like adding music may detract from your creative process or from the video as a whole, you should definitely not include it! However, adding music can be a very powerful tool in creating videos that become increasingly captivating and interesting. Thank for sharing you hobby with us, really looking forward to seeing what next you have up your sleeve :)

Finally a non-trynd-otp shows some respect to trynd, I completely agree with what you said, and as a trynd player myself I would add that one of his weaknesses is the lack of outplay potential. The outplays you can perform are usually from flash or galeforce (available for all), and you usually rely on outdamaging the opponent while trying to stick to him. People think that trynd players right-click to win and abuse his damage, the reality is that you can basically only do that, no flashy mechanics, no infinite stacks, no executes, no 500-words passive, but I don't think he needs a rework, and I don't think any trynd player wants that. He should remain the simple champion, easy to f*ck up others if played accordingly, easy to be f*cked up by others in early if not.

xPetu what have you done to me? I played a custom just to feel out the abilities. Played a normal, went 22/6/7. Straight into ranked, 32/6/5. I think I am a Tryndamere main now. I've played since season 1 and always avoided tryndamere, master yi, etc. but you're right, I forgot how good right clicking feels. I have been converted.

I'm not afraid anymore to say it. I like playing Nasus. I like bonking my lane oppressors for 400-500 damage a hit after 15 mins and watching them slowly start loosing their easy matchup. I like 2 shotting midlanders, supports, and ADC'S while they crawl away crippled by wither. I like knowing the exact moment where I can 1 vs 1 my lane opponent and they realize that they have to sit under turret now. It's a good day to play nasus.

Mate I am kinda glad for this video. Because I went from Thresh support, to Nasus top, to Nautilus support and suddenly I became a Trynadamere in the jungle. I mean I go top trynda sometimes and swap between Nunu, Zac, Ornn, Trundle and Trynda in the jungle. But I will probably keep playing Trynda more than anyone else. Also Trynda jungle is hilarious.

I like how people act like right clicking is no brain, but with all the different buttons that interact with right clicking. attack move, attack move click, etc. not to mention stuff like nasus q that is an ability based on auto attacking. You can easily use 4+ buttons just for different ways with auto attacking between right click, target champ only, attack move click, and other move/click buttons. In my opinion the most mechanical champs are the ones super heavy on auto attacking because auto attacks tend to be short range than abilities and you can’t just spam abilities so positioning is so incredibly important. If a brand gets caught and clicks his 4 buttons he’ll have done his job. It doesn’t matter that he died becuase that’s all the damage he probably would’ve done anyway. A tryndamere gets caught out, and if played decently he won’t really do any damage at all.

The thing is petu the movement in dota is not non-fluid you're just not using specific items to improve the fluidity of movement, and also league doesn't have any turn rates the character simply turns around like it's moonwalking. I played dota while bored of league and specific heroes plays different and also have different turn rates, for example hoodwink is an agility hero and has an active skill called "scurry" that lets her have increased movement and the ability to run through trees for a short time. Meanwhile someone like Witch doctor who is an intelligence hero relies on specific items like silver edge or force staff to increase mobility. The gameplay is just different, the more limiting factor I always notice when I transition is map mobility and the ability to teleport everywhere without needing a summoner spell, ganks are also easier to setup and counter ganks are much more common because of said mobility. In dota a match is never decided until the enemy ancient is destroyed because there is no surrender and the tactics are always evolving mid game.

i gotta totally agree with this vid i've been playing league since the early days, and after a good amount of time i got to main shaco to this day he's my fav champ in league, not because of his strenght (since well, he's actually the weakest), but because of his outplay potential, he can do many things to outplay others, and it's just extremely fun to me to be able to kill someone 10x stronger than me just because i beat them in the mind game then riot decided to nerf him to hell, to a point he was just straight up unplayable. he already had barely no damage in his kit, and not only it got heavily lowered he also lost a ton of his utility. i straight up 100% stopped playing league, there was just nothing left in it for me. then recently i decided to give another look at how league is doing, and they finally reverted the nerfs on him, and i full on started to play league again i never ever cared abt playing ranked, being the strongest player or whatever i just wanna have fun with my boy shaco, and i'm glad i'm able to do this again
