This game was so stressful for me, since I have ADHD and dyslexia. The more documents that got added, the more I got overwhelmed. It was still pretty fun, and it gave me a good challenge. Glad to see bijuu is enjoying it, though! (I think? I hope?)

You can let whoever you want in, you have 2 chances for mistakes until you get 5 credits deducted. But in one of my playthroughs of the game, I always let in who I want to. For instance, the woman who wants to see her son, the wife, and later on you’ll get more people who you want to let in or feel sorry for…it’s also how you’ll get tokens

You actually did super well on learning the mechanics. Less citations on your first go than anyone else I've watched. The only thing is your salary is based on how many people you let in, so you'll have to learn to go faster if you want to beat it. Some tips: - You don’t always have to interrogate someone as long as you find a discrepancy. Usually its better to deny them and save time. -You get 2 mistakes per day before you're penalized and youll always get a citation when you make a mistake. Then each penalty goes up by increments of 5 (5,10,15,etc.) -The clock doesn’t start until you call the first person, so you can take your time figuring things out before starting. -For encounters like the husband and his wife who had bad documents, you can choose to go against the rules and let her in even if it breaks the rules. Or not. This game is all about the morality of your choices. -Make as much money in the first few days as you can. It gets harder to make money later in the game :) So excited to see you play this game. Its a good time and a lot to explore. 💜💜💜

Having some tips: -Having "Easy mode" doesn't really make it that much easier, +20 credits a day. So it's just glory greatest food stamp program. Is good for family and you. If you do not have this, you'll probly have to alternate food and heat each day. -TIMER DOESN'T START TILL YOU CALL THE FIRST PERSON IN. Take that time to look over the rules. -Having the Date setting as Year, Month, Day can be a great hack. Cause if the year is wrong, then it's easier to tell. -As soon as a person exits the booth, you can call the next person. -No shame in having a "quick notes" opened in a different tab. -When there are upgrades to booth, you should get them. Make life easier. -Try to aim for about 8-10 people processed per game day. -Only glory greatest ending can unlock endless mode. Be glory greatest checkpoint operator! -If you side with Ezic EVEN ONCE, you no get glory greatest ending! -You have TWO free citations per day. Two people you can let through or errors you can make. GLORY GREATEST!!! Do country proud!!! We will see what ending you get. (There's about 20 of them!)

Advanced Checkpoint Advice: (In no real order) -You will eventually get a rhythm as to what to check. Dates, ID Number cross check, Names, Issuing City, other points. This gets complicated fast! So make sure you develop some sort of pattern to your inspections. -Try to keep the rules book in your inspection area, usually on the left side. Rules page out. Inspection purposes. And the News report on the right side. You can inspect mode the news BTW! If you get something else, like metallic, good to keep that in the upper right. -Many pronounce it as "ARS-STOTS-KA" -This game does take time to "get gud". -Learning from previous checkpoint operators such as the Markiplier or Jack of the Septic Eye is advised. -The number next to "Salary" is number of people processed. Be they Detained, Denied, or Accepted into Arstotzka. Again, aim for up to 8-10 a day. This will not cover everything (Rent, Heat, Food, etc.) if you don't have "Easy Mode" on! -Diplomatic Seals are for a Different Document. -Jorji is just friendly potato man! Everyone loves him! OH, and I noticed in your Options you have "nudity" on. Not like it's highly graphic, human body is beautiful thing.

Finally playing the the best passport checking game, if you're struggling to get through the game remember that the first day you only ever need to let Arstotskan citizens, they always have the correct info so you only need to rush the first day for money There is also an "easy mode" in the options menu, it just makes it easier for you to get money if you feel like that's the problem you're feeling the most worried about

Also a few things you could do that I've seen other youtubers do: Go back and forth between paying or not paying either food or heat, the son will get sick anyways but be sure to have the most money possible to always get to the next day Be sure to always have the manual with you in case you need to check for info regarding the rules or countries Eventually you'll be told to check for discrepancies inside dialogues or even criminals in the news, so look for that using the audio transcript paper and the newspaper/manual you get each day

@@charliesmith31 You can only get both if you have $30 left even after the rent, if you ignore food on the first day then you get to keep $20 for the next in savings; the son will get sick but you only spend $5 for him, because of that you only spend next on food and medicine without heat like $25 and get $10 on saving It's just a strategy to save some money by alternating on getting only heat or only food, it's quite effective actually

Tips for you!!: Keep anything you don’t need to look at in detail (documents you already looked at, pink vice cards etc) place them on the other desk. Only keep the rules book and documents on your desk! Bijuu you don’t get any money for any people accepted after 6 pm so look at the clock. You only get money on who’s accepted - it says on the budget summary page “salary (3)”. That means you let in 3 people. You’re timed so try to go as fast as you can to make money. You don’t need to look at passports itself like the seals, it’s fine. Just check expiration dates and Issuing cities those are the ones mostly different. Put away the introduction white paper you get but moving it to the other desk. There’s no need to interrogate things that will never change! If a document is 100% expired just deny immediately. If it’s something like: they said they are here for three months but it says 6 months on the document - you must ask them they will change their answer which is fine. In terms of food and heat, you can go one day if they are at “okay” level without it. Give medicine to important people if you’re tight on money, like your son and wife. Try to save your money at least a little each day in case you get penalised for citations. If peoples faces are different it’ll be really REALLY obvious, like someone clearly stole that passport from someone else. Citations only penalise you after 2 mistakes. You can get 2 wrong a day and that’s fine. If you approve someone with wrong documents or deny someone clear for approval you will get a citation. It will tell you where you failed. One last thing: unless the white introduction newsletter tells you there’s been a counterfeiting issue or the seals looks insane you don’t really have to check it. For wanted people, highlight their name and the news headline on the white paper. You’re doing alright! Just keep it up and enjoy the crazy things that happen in this game

Sharing a tip with the class :P! Yes, Papers Please is timed! BUT you can take some time at the start of each day to gather your thoughts and process the new information/rules on the official bulletin and rulebook. The timer doesn't start until you click the speaker. There are also tabs on the side of the rulebook so you don't have to click through every single page! Hope this helps!

A lot of great tips here! Lol I love how you anticipate the comments. Here are some tips I have: - Use the first day to build up money. You can process so many people because you are only checking if they are Arstotskan or not. Nobody has false passports on the first day since the cross-reference feature isn't there so that would be really mean if the game did that. - Citations will tell you if you did something wrong and they happen right after you admit or deny someone. It's a more efficient version of Lil Guardsman's ranking system and CERTAINLY more efficient than That's Not My Neighbor's mode of telling you at the end of the day (as of March 29, 2024 when this was uploaded). - Play the game more by your morals. As many have said, you have 2 free citations... but if you want, you can be super totalitarian/strict. Like the wife, you can choose to let her in or not. There's a lot more like that and I love how they storytell with just one location! This will determine the ending you get. - Detaining takes longer so that's why you probably shouldn't be detain-happy, but there will be more incentives to detain later in the game.

here's a couple of tips. instead of going through every single page of the notebook individually, use the title page as a guide. 'Basic Rules' will help with any rulebook standards(only let arstozkan citizens in, entry requires a entry permit, etc.). 'Regional Map' will show you every region without having to flip through 10 pages per time ur checking for the right one. If you're on a different screen that would require you to flip back to the map or rules just use the book mark on the top left of the book to get back to the title page.

A helpful tip: The bookmark in the rulebook will bring you back to the first page and the Table Of Contents on the first page can bring you to any section on the Table Of Contents. For the world map section, clicking on any of the country's names will bring you to that country's page. Also you have to be quicker, try using the Inspect tool more instead of your eyes. The Salary shows how many people you let in and you only get paid for the green stamp. At the moment you don't have to detain people and you, yourself, don't get paid for those people you've detained(that comes later). I really hope this helps anyone trying to get into Papers Please. It's fun, just really difficult. Oh, yeah, I forgot. There is only one Good Ending. The other 19 are considered as Bad Endings.

hey mike! i've figured out some more things for "that's not my neighbor"! : - they can have the wrong last names (e.g Arnold Cappuccin, it's supposed to be Arnold Schmicht) - their IDs can be wrong, i saw in another playthrough Mclooy came in but his /entire/ ID was his son's (Steven) extra thing! i found out that Selenne has square earrings, whilst Elenois has triangle earrings! hope this helped you :D by the way i'm not screaming at you here mike, just telling you :] edit: the earrings are just for to tell the twins apart, i don't think they can get the wrong earrings because they're not listed in their appearance thing, so you don't have to worry about that mike, i just wanted to point that out :]

Lol it is wild we stress you out, you really just gotta take everything we say with a grain of salt. If you learn how to organize the papers on the board you will for sure get the hang of it. Keep up the great work mark, it just takes time and patience.

Here's some tips: On the first day you don't have to check for false information, All you have to check for is if their from Arstotzka or not. The reason you failed in the beginning was because you weren't processing enough people fast enough and didn't have enough money. The more people you process (deny or approve) in a day, the more money you make. Once the clock in the bottom left hand corner starts blinking means you're running out of time and when it beeps and goes blank that means it's 6 PM and applicants entering after 6 PM are unpaid. You don't have to worry about things like the diplomatic seals or districts just yet. How citations work is that if you don't spot a discrepency and make the wrong decision you get a citation, you're allowed two citations before they start deducting your pay. It goes up in increments by 5 (Meaning after two mistakes if you make another one that's $5 deducted, and then another mistake is another $5 deducted and so on) Also this game involves some morals. You can break the rules and get a citation if you want to help somebody out.

I don't know if you noticed it, but there is some kind of time limit, and the people you proceed after that won't count in your salary, which means someone slow can't get enough money in this game. Tips that i got from when i played. The women who give you a pink vice cards are always eligible for entry. People who have special dialogs will always be eligible for entry, except for a few people. You can easily get rich at the game within the first 1 - 2 games after you understand the rules, when i played again, i made over 150 dollars on the first day and was set for the entire playthrough.
