28:59 Soooo, about the whole "copypasta" you mentioned... Specialize in "Gun" type for gym defense, since that's what Alpharad programmed. A Gym Trainer with 6 Pokemon enters my Gym. "What the devil?" As I grab my cowboy hat and Bouffalant. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the Trainer's first Pokemon, he's dead on the spot. Draw my Duraludon on the second Pokemon, miss him entirely because it's shooting with the top of his head, knock out the third instead. I have to resort to the Hitmonchan mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with "Bare Arms", "Tally ho Trainer". The move shreds three Pokemon, the sound and extra shrapnel set off Mossdeep's rocket. Send out Braviary and Shoot the last terrified rapscallion. Trainer faints out waiting on the police to arrive since no one expects "Gun" type. Just as Alpharad programmed.

In Gen 3 unless a trainer's Pokemon has a non-standard gender ratio IIRC the Pokemon's gender matches the trainer's. If a Pokemon has a non-standard gender ratio, it will be the more common gender.

Each Pokemon in a trainer battle is stored on 16 Bytes in the ROM. which seem to store 8 pieces of information(I actually cracked open an Emerald Rom to check). These code for: Species Level EVs Held Item Move 1 Move 2 Move 3 Move 4 So Personality Values(which determine Gender. Nature, Shininess and which ability they have if they're a multi-ability species in Gen 3) seem to come at a pre-determined value based on the trainer's coded gender. However to demonstrate this fully I'll have to discuss the 2 discrepancies within the ROM Hack, and the sweeping exceptions within the base game. 1) Elite Four Larry is a male trainer with an all female team. This is because Larry is put over Glacia, who is female in the base game and the gender values in this hack weren't changed. 2) Elite Four Sussy Baka is a seemingly genderless trainer with an all male team. This is because they are over Drake. Now for the sweeping exceptions within the base game. There are once again 2 of them. 1) Double battle opponents are always treated as male. (This is why Clay's Pokemon are Male, since Tate and Liza are male in the game's code) 2) Pokemon Frontier Trainers are heavily randomized and adhere to a completely different set of logic than normal trainers. (Normal Trainers Pokemon cannot be Shiny, always have the same ability if they're in a multi-ability species and do not change genders between playthroughs/encounters, but Frontier Pokemon can change any of those factors).

Oh man, your mention of going through Rock Tunnel blind just awoke an old memory for me. When I was a kid playing the original Red Version for the first time, I didn't know about Flash and didn't know where to get it, or if I did, I either didn't have a pokemon that could use it or didn't know it could light up dark places. Whatever the case, my first time completing Rock Tunnel was entirely blind. I quite literally used sound cues and what little I could see of various surfaces in the darkness to navigate Rock Tunnel without any light at all, at the tender age of like 8 years old. I have always hated and feared that tunnel ever since, even after knowing how to get through it now. Also, way way way too many zubats and digletts.

I also consider Norman to be the halfway point one because you get surf letting you explore the rest of the region two there is basically nothing in-between Norman and Flannery so its kinda just runs together

I think if they do ever make an Infinite Candy, it should only be available in the post-post-game, after absolutely everything story-wise is done. That way no one will be tempted to cheese anything by just leveling everything to Lv 100 right away. Also, it should only be given to players after their first or second go through of the Battle Tower or equivalent.

Norman in the base game cannot be fought until you have 4 gym badges, so while Brawly's gym is skipable, it only is until you need to fight Norman. He gives you Surf, which unlocks the other half of the region to you. Afterwards, Winona is also skipable, and you must deal with the villain team before the 8th gym, so he kinda is the mid-point.

On the Overflow issue it depends on the max values the system can support. if the overflow is because the value is grater than the system can handle you couldn't just check if the value is grater than that because you can't compare it to that value as it is too large

OHKO moves actually don't have 30 Accuracy, despite what it says. The accuracy actually depends on what level you are, versus what level your target is. If you are a lower level, it will never hit. If you are a higher level, then the higher your level than your target, the higher the move's accuracy. Using a OHKO move on a level 1 pokemon with always hit if the user is level 100 for example

Firefox has always had massive memory-leak-like issues. It was the reason I switched to chrome ages ago, and it is annoying the hell out of me now that I have swapped back because of google being even more shady than usual. Did my comment about Firefox maybe being an issue just disappear? I commented but it never appeared. Refreshed my KZbin and it's still not there. Anyways the pausing issue could be a Firefox thing. Another KZbinr I watched had a problem with Firefox during a reaction. Like he pressed pause, raised his hands in front of the camera, and it paused 3 seconds later. He swapped to chrome to see if it was his computer or Firefox and it worked fine on chrome.

@sharklazerboy9529 Firefox has memory leak issues, and it always had. It was what made me originally swap to chrome way back (swapped back now that google has been even worse than usual) and keep having that problem. Closing and reopening Firefox fixes it for an hour or 3.
