Jake didn't mention it in the video but according to the right sided image in 18:31, which was a deck made by the AI, it seems like the max you can have is 2 copies of each card, EX Pokemon might be one per deck though. (Max is 20 cards)

If you want the ranked matches, you can play the Pokemon TCG. It’s a lot more in-depth and is the thing that this entry point is trying to funnel players into. Ranked matches in pocket might happen, but this app was made with casuals in mind

Hearing about having CPU battles is a relief. The GB Pokemon card game is beloved for a very good reason. AFAIK, Pokemon TCG Live doesn't have CPU battles either. Some day people might want something more challenging, and that's where escalation comes in: Start with easy CPU, mid level, high level, and finally true challenge (maybe copying the decks of championship winners). I might be too optimistic about the AI capabilities though (Pokemon TCGO's AI was... sometimes I feel, "barely functioning").

So it’s literally Marvel Snapified Pokemon TCG. Smaller decks, Energy generates automatically each turn, Quick paced battles, Heavy Emphasis on card collecting and upgrading. Sounds awesome to me

It'll probably be the same rules as classic TCG. You can only have 4 copies of any card. You can only have up to 60 cards in every deck.

Kinda scary how much monetization seems to be the focus. I have little faith f2p players will even be able to get half the cards available. Especially with the devs saying you'll have to pay to catch them all

@@theobeseones What they said is that you would probably need to pay in order to complete the card dex in between pack releases. This doesn't mean that you won't be able to get them anymore, or that you won't be able to spend your time working towards filling a card pack dex at a time. There's also going to be trading and wonder picking which is an outside factor. Jake also said that they were very generous with the rewards and missions/events at the beginning of the game.

There will be 20 cards per deck, and it seems like it'll be 2 of each card maximum. EX Cards are also allowed, but they give two points on knockout, which makes it likely that you will only be allowed to have one card of each EX Pokemon per deck, or maybe even just one as a whole.

This is gonna be huge for digital card game fans. I love that energy is given each turn like Mana in Hearthstone, and 20-card decks without energy is actually super exciting!! My take away is while they give you a lot, the first like, two weeks it will be mostly p2w, because you cant get most of the card pool right away, but then it will eventually turn into cosmetics, while the f2p end up catching to those who payed. They just wont have very pimped out decks ahahaha I look forward to play it. As someone who played the original TCG competitively as a teen, this will hit a soft spot

I just think it will be a little more efficient to have 60 (40 in the least) deck card and 6 prices without the addition of complicated move skills and items to keep the game simpler so that the transition between pocket players to tcg might be more smoother

i am excited to give this a try. I am hoping this game gives me the same feeling that Marvel Snap as a card collecting game gives me. I would LOVE to be able to just focus on collecting cards and pokemon i love and have quick games with them. While i know people are going to go Meta crazy and competitive crazy. I feel like supporting and leaning towards casual play and collecting will be better for the community. They already have a TCG app that is competitive and the games themselves. Being able to hop on the app have a quick couple minute games and look at gorgeous art work should be the focus.

I figured we'd see this eventually - Pokemon Company has lost SO much money over the last decade over the fact that their premier online TCG product is tied to decisions that were made long before we knew how to exploit the human psyche for maximum quarterly profits, and this is finally their chance to correct those irreversable "mistakes". im still kinda worried for the game bc every single mobile pokemon game has had its own share of problems. like pokemon go had the update that removed raid tickets iirc as well as glitch the player avatars that werent even that good looking to begin with and the battles became really boring and grindy. pokemon masters just wasnt that satisfying to play. i didnt like the idea of pulling for characters bc im not a deep pokemon fan so i had no attachment to them but the main issue was the gameplay for me. it didnt feel satisfying at all. pokemon sleep becomes a nightmare when dealing with attributes, berries and cookie management. god people were making EXCEL SPREADSHEETS to figure out what was the most effective way to "play". even with pokemon cafe remix i felt like the iap werent balanced at all and couldnt get into it. knowing DeNA is in charge of the game doesnt help bc their games can be really bad really easily. lets hope its not the case 🙏

Maybe less at launch, however, once competitive/ranked is added (which is confirmed) it probably will increase heavily. There will also be events, missions, etc when it launches to keep you busy daily.

Meh. Im not paying 10 a month. 5 cards in a pack is so small. Sounds worse than konami yugioh mobile games. I was excited but seems they will have a cap on free players basically pushing you to spend money. Still hopeful. Just warry now. Battle pass has been a nuisance on gaming. Game sounds a bit scammy. Konami has better concept for having multiple cards of the samd type. And konami is famous for getting money out of people consistently. Cool that is smaller deck and handles energy for you. So no useless energy pulls. You kept mentiong hour glass. I hope we dont have to wait a set amount of time to open things. That sounds like another way to encourage people to pay (to open instantly). Still excited.
