DW9 left me so disappointed man. I think they could have had way more of Cao Cao’s ships there in the north to actually show off this giant armada and to give yourself more fun with it, join Huang Gai on his ship and join in starting the fire attack which lets you battle on all the burnt up ships and his docks and fight Cao Cao’s panicked main force there for a more climatic end of the battle. Great video too! Loved the rankings for all of these you killed it man!!

Nothing will ever touch DW5's Chibi 👍From the cinematic movie of Zhou Yu, Zhuge Liang, Huang Gai standing together from the start, to such huge battlefield on both land and ships, to the urgency of rescuing your allies before they got obliterated by Wei, to the music, to even...hidden cutscenes within the stage for notable officers to enhance our experiences throughout⭐what an absolute gem

I think that the new Origins Battle of Chibi is the best so far. The build up to it, the skirmish battles before, the fact that certain choices made in previous missions can affect it. Playing on the Wu side, seeing Hung Gai slowly start to doubt Sun Quan, have hidden jealousy for Sun Jian, and then being caught out as a spy. For anyone who didn't already know the story, it was well done and would have made me absolutely think he was an actual traitor if I didn't know.

Even if it's not entirely related to this video, I loved what you said at 32:30 about how you would open the map and check on your officers and objectives. That is honestly one of the designs that this game can offer. It's one of the things that makes me enjoy this series so much.

Dynasty Warriors 9 had potential- and the Chibi showed how much of that potential was squandered. Barely any naval combat (Ruxukou gave us more naval combat than the biggest naval battle in chinese history) and the Fire Attack only happens AFTER the battle is done.

Dw 5 has the best stages .. only being rivaled by dw 3 and dw8 ... dw9 is pretty self explanatory , there are no stages... dw4 stages are small ,linear and they reuse maps for a lot battles.. even flipping some of them upside down hoping the player would not notice it ...,, and dw7 stages are meh nothing special.. i disagree about the dw 6 stage placement,, i think 6 has some of the best stages ,way better than dw 4 stages ..

the new one in Origin is pretty cool, the map start with the ships being separated and the battle actually start before the fire is setted up so you fight off several waves tillCao Cao approach with the main fleet and then you strike with the trap, pretty cool.

Pros to you for not being biased, As much as i love 4, it has very few stages that are good 😕 tbh , the only one i can think that could rank above 5 is the yellow turban rebellion, and even then 5 YTR is pretry good..all the other ones 5 does best, i play 5 last year for the first time after hearing so many people say is the best, the rumors are true, That game is the closest thing we have to a perfect DW game.

Koei should release a classic collection for all the old DW and SW games. Dynasty Warriors 2-6 on modern consoles and for Samurai Warriors 1-3. I would like to revisit the old games.

Regarding Xu Shu, iirc he goes to Wei because Cao Cao deceives him by writing a letter posing as his mother and claiming to be sick. When Xu Shu leaves Liu Bei and rushes home to see her, he discovers that she is fine and Cao Cao lied to him. But Cao Cao now uses Xu Shu's mother as leverage to keep him in his service. The mother was distraught that she was used to blackmail her son, so she hangs herself which sends Xu Shu into a depressive spiral and probably why he decides to just stay on the ships and burn.

Yep i agree with the top ones personally. On the note of DW3 it is randomized cause at times I even got Ma Chao as Shu reinforcements. Also remember the fire effect causes so much slow down in dw3 ps2 xD With 7 it really has an amazing cutszene and music so it cant be slept on but DW5 is my favourite due to being a great blend of map design, music and also cutszenes. Also the contrast of ships is shown really well. Cao Caos are huge while Wus are small

DW 5 really nailed Chi Bi the best. Cao Cao and Wei have an OVERWHELMING amount of army compared to the allied forces and you have to play defensive until the fire attack succeeds. You can really feel that without that working, Cao Cao was going to win and end the Three Kingdoms. Love that stage.

Love this style of content but if I may be so bold, one criticism: Question first, do you write a script for your videos? You have a tendency to repeat yourself several times within the same point and it tends to drag out the run length unnecessarily. I don't think many mind it but it is an area of improvement; I asked about the script because I believe having one would likely remedy this issue mostly if not entirely. :) Cheers! Love seeing DW-focused content that isn't solely the very newest titles for marketing. *edit* Oh right I forgot, funnily enough our preferences for Chibi seem to be the same because our ordering is the exact same, lol. Chibi in 9 is Cool Once. But it gets REALLY OLD and Tedious when you have to do it for *EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE IN THAT FIGHT* I still haven't done it with every character but its on my Bucket List. I'm probably going to be able to do it with Everyone in Shu First since they have less people to juggle in their Kingdom's Early Game. Don't look at me like that we all have to wait for Origins somehow.

I enjoy and regularly defend Dynasty Warriors 9, but they did a terrible job on some of the stages. Chibi is the absolute worst/best example. They massacred a wonderful stage. Super disappointing. Playing it as Shu forces was particulalrly disappointing 😅

It was a mod that has all captains and officers be on horseback! Sure enough it does it characters not meant to start on a horse hence why the bodyguard and archers all were standing on it 😭
