Crazy that I beat his ASS in my first playthrough with Zhang Fei 4 on the other hand... I couldn't do it at all even coming back with better weapons and more items I still couldn't beat him. I think it's the peons in 4 felt actually good like they wanted to actually kill you 😂​@@RedTank100-f9m

Zuo Ci was so strong in 5 it was so good. I don’t think it was particularly strong but Xiahou Yuan’s rod made a very satisfying sound when you hit people with it

Dynasty Warriors 4 was my Intro. Rented it from Blockbuster, never returned it. They capped it at 20 bucks per Rental in late fees. It was practically brand new when I grabbed it. Loved this game. Played with my cousin on 4, much later on played it 5 and 6 with my sister. Don't get along with either really, but we played the games and worked well together.

A lot of time and effort to get this kind of video out, and with such numbers and calculations there can be no doubt as to weapon placement within the list baring the 2nd and 3rd place but you gave your reasons there. And at number 1 Lu Bu from DW4. I am happy to see him there, it just reminds me just how powerful he is as I have been playing that game these last 2 months in my off time. Every character from level 1 (barring Huang Gai) had to fight Lu Bu, before I would let them play any other stages or campaigns runs. As for baring Huang gai, I tossed dice to decide which faction and which character to play first. I think I'll be doing this for every DW game I have until I have confirmation on whether or not DW10 is happening or not.

i remember zou ci was stupid strong when he first came out. remember my eldest brother playing 1 match with him on normal and went that was too easy, so he turned it onto hard mode and started playing. he got zou cis 4th weapon on accident cause, i believe all you had to do for it in that game was beat lubu on hard. that was during his first play through of the campaign with him.

ZuoCi’s tarot cards would be my weapon of choice as a tarot reader myself 😂 Great Video!! My Dad’s main character were Dian Wei and Guan Yu in Dynasty Warriors 3 so this list makes extra sense to me! I remember them being very heavy hitters!

In Dynasty Warriors Advance, every character got access to a 60 base power weapon eventually. If we ignore stat modifiers but add Valor bonuses, we get character-exclusive max attack weapons as follows: Tied for 4th at 66: Dragon Rage (Zhao Yun), Dawn Flute (Zhenji), and Scion Moon (Zhou Yu) Tied for 3rd at 67: Venom (Zhang Fei) and Holy Dragon (Guan Yu). Tied for 2nd at 68: Maelstrom (Lu Bu), Earthly Mace (Xu Zhu), Demon Slayer (Sun Ce), and Peace Staff (Liu Bei). And tied for 1st, the berserker weapons that can get all the way to 69: Ogre Rod (Sun Jian), Annihilator (Cao Cao), Pandemonium (Xiahou Dun), and Goddess Eye (Sun Shangxiang).

In early games, I always liked Xu Zhu simply because he could down officers so fast. Once he lands the first hit, it’s all over. They’re stuck in a massively damaging combo! Get some items to help his weaknesses and he’s a total annihilator. Just gotta get good at making your hits count!

Most underrated option, Bao Sanniang's Spinners in DW8 Empires. It have infinite range and infinite hits. Perfect for murdering every mook in range and to quickly drain down the Storm Rush Bars on Generals. Also, Xianying #6? Didn't expect that :D

Me and my brother went back and played DW3 again and we made it our goal to defeat Lu Bu with fresh characters nothing but what we already unlocked which was like lvl2 weapons granted we have been playing all these games for our whole lives basically. We died twice before realizing the strategy for taking him down. It took awhile but we did it but good lord was it a mistake.. also Guan Yu at Fan Castle in that same game. They have it out to hunt you down across the map. I was chased down and shot with multitudes of arrows. 😂 From outside yhe render distance so i couldnt see the arrows until they hit me also rain. Miss the old games and the difficulty of them

Sleeper: Lu Meng. His move sets were always very generic but incredibly useful. Musou, Combos, ect. Very Vanilla but very effective and were a good mix of single damage and group damage.

This video kinda failed to mention the Damage Calculator system. DW3 DW4 DW5 has the same Damage Calculator based on 400 points system. Base attack × Power = Total damage. For example 38 × 10 = 380 (not including additional items or Orbs or Elements). On hardest difficulty, enemy officers have fixed Defense value between 360 to 400. So most of the time, you will need to surpass 450 damage to actually deal huge damage against Elite Officers. That's why I think putting Lu Bu's Legendary weapon from DW4XL on 1st rank kinda feel out of place. DW7 & DW8 is based on 1200 Points system. The damage multiplier behaves slightly different in DW7 and DW8. Because the way Hitbox register in DW7 and DW8 also multiplied by individual weapon skill that you craft. I'm not sure about DW6 and DW9 damage Calculator system tho

so for DW6 weapon pickups were RNG for their number so the weapons didnt have a unique number for them, it was just about finding the best one since its all RNG for DW6, no base attack level for that game

Honorable Mention: Da Qiao's 4th weapon from DW5 (heavy 32 base with Attack, Defense, Life, Musou, Luck buff to it)😂incredibly powerful, when she turns on Musou Rage Token, it's literal GOD MODE 💥also Ma Chao's (medium 38 base Attack Defense Life Speed Horse) and Zhao Yun's (medium 36 base with 4 main stats+Charge) and Huang Gai's (medium 36 base with Attack Defense Life Luck Charge), if you're a true fan of DW5, you know them💚

I am glad someone else spoke up on Daqiao in DW5. She is the only character with a heavy 4th weapon with an attack bonus. Given how the heavy weapon attribute raises attack by x1.25 she has the highest base attack in the game. On the flip side Xu Zhu has a light weapon which multiplies attack by 0.75 so he's one of the weakest attackers in that game. A small girl with paper fans out damaging an absolute tank of a man with a metal club just makes me lol.
