Two funny stories for ya. 1) I was solo CL & I spent the whole game claiming PB which for some reason everyone believed. I don't know how but I managed to win as a solo CL claiming PB for the whole game. 2)The lure of a PB win screen won the game for mafia. I was a disg with a forger, bmer and GF. BM/Gf got hung and forger got killed leaving only me. I had not really said anything till late game and I claimed PB. The exe whispers me saying they will side with me the "PB" and asked who was infected. I told them that they along with the Surv claim[who turned out to be mayor] were the only 2 not infected. When it came down to the last 4 people [exe,Poisoner,tracker,Maf/Me] I told them that I did not wanna turn Pest for the rare PB win screen. The exe believed me, I killed the poisoner and the poisoner poisoned the tracker. I'm not sure but I think the exe might have believed that the tracker who was poisoned was actually maf but I could be wrong on that but the lure alone of the rare PB win screen won the game for me & the forger since the GF/BM had left the game. 2 games where by pure dumb luck fake claiming PB worked for me and won me the game

After playing so much CAA, that kind of list seems so boring. You know there is no coven, you know there are 2 neutrals(that can't be GA or amne), and you know there are 4 maf. You're given so much info, plus town is guaranteed a jailor. If rt can be mayor, that gives town like a 75% win rate. CAA is so good because you have exactly two pieces of information at the game's start: your role, and your faction members if maf/coven/vamp.

In order to balance a few things out for NK, what if they had the ability to see non-unique roles upon starting the game. They wouldn't be able to see jailor, mayor, vet, vig(isn't unique but hides TK), GF, and probably be a few other roles to ensure balance. This would probably increase the 1% winrate. This would probably only work in ranked and not All Any as that would be incredibly broken in some scenarios. The only problem with this would be a game throwing NK giving out information that should be hidden.

I feel like the only problem with that list was there was not enough rt claim space and maybe the fact that witch was literally in every game. Mafia really wants a witch but the fact that it's confirmed kind of hurts. How were you supposed to claim when TS was basically confirmed and if you got RT TSs it got even harder.

I have played about 6 games with the new list and NK won twice, once was as sk and I had a ww win. The sk win was because town kinda threw and my ww win was because town sided me rather than maf, but still, I feel like NK can win in a regular game, even thought it may be harder because this is off-season and people are not used to the list. Overall I think this list is much more fun than the previous one and the extra claim space makes playing as evil not just about doing a mislynch, but actually deceiving town that you aren't evil.

I won WW by making a status quo between Mafia and Town. whenever Mafia is winning, I will try to expose one of them or killing one of them. I remember my game as WW when it's already a status quo. Town pushes me and I claim Jester. Honestly, I know I am dead meat at that point with gutsy claim because I don't have any Idea what is NE and waiting for him to make contact. who knows someone just whisp me and tell me he is jest and that's all I need to know who will I kill or not.

I know something like this would never happen but the best way to fix ranked in my opinion would to make weighted role lists (instead of just having a mafia support slot something along the lines of a slot that is 75% chance mafia support 25% mafia deception) you could go CRAZY with something like this. You can almost have the randomness of CAA but still in a "balanced" ranked list. You could even do something like make a weighted slot that might be an NK or it might be an NE or it might be something else like a any or confirmed witch. This could give you the best of both world of the past role lists and town would have to figure out more of what kind of game they are playing.

my highest winrate in NK is WW, I think it's 8 in rank game and I enjoy playing it. I think the reason why NK has a low win rate is because NK is not taking initiative to prove their fake role.

Other than RT 5 -> TK I think NK -> NE 2 could be good. NK is an awful roll (so is Witch but at least you could get Exe or Jest) to get, and yet your actions can single handedly decide which of the two main factions win, removing stability, as you said. I think that 2 NE wouldn't be too far and chaotic compared to the last list's Exe Witch while still adding variance by allowing for doubles and more Jest starts. You already talked about how RT 5 -> TK would be beneficial to keep town in the game late when they get behind.

You know, actually, if they reworked investigator so that instead of getting one set of already existing results (bg/gf/arso, etc), they'd work more like a psychic - getting three-four random roles as results, one of them the real role (just like 8 was trying to do). It'd be interesting on both parts - giving evils a bit more of variety in fake claims while making it easier for invests to catch someone on lying :3 Also, I'd like it if they replaced neutral killing/neutral evil with neutrals in general (random neutral), and also either turned one random town or some other role into any. Would make the games more versatile imo. Like, turn one RT into TK and one into ANY. Or RM into ANY.

I don't like the idea of random results invest. A person could outright not be given claim space if everything in their invest results is unique/evil, or they could be insta confirmed if there's only townie roles in their generated results. When it comes to RN/Any in ranked, they would have to explicitly not allow vampires to spawn for that. I know the chances are kinda small, but I seriously wouldn't want to play a ranked game with vampires in it. If they remove vampires from the pool for ranked, I'm in.

NK being back is going to make the game less balanced, I agree, but it'll make the games more interesting! It'll shake up the meta! Games can get a little formulaic in ranked in my experience but arso, for example, would get rid of the Jailor D1 claim. Although, I'll be honest, I haven't played ranked in a while because I was bored of it, so I don't know if the Jailor D1 claim is still common.

I think a tk slot would lead to a lot of vigis counter claiming and shooting each other I find fun the priority over balance in a game like TOS, expecially considered that you gain elo based also on your win rate so you can have very imbalanced games be fair thanks to that spawning in as jester may seem hard but you have something nobody else in the game has, the knowledge there is a jester in the game same thing for all the nk, ne and even ms slots I don't think there is a reason to wanting a guaranteed tk slot, town has been nerfed and mafia been buffed according to the fact that there is a nk in the house I understand that makes the game more balanced at higher levels, but not having it makes the game more fun at all levels, you just may have to give a bigger elo reward to town

Town really shouldn't lose the lead in these lists they have a jailor every game and with 4 rolls one role that can effect the majority is likely. Also Neutral killers want to kill Mafia if Mafia is running town too hard possibly giving town a chance to catch up. The only way they tend to lose the lead is with SK or WW but even when jailor is a role. Idk if you don't execute an evil by N2 you kind of deserve to lose. Outside of the super rare occasions where the town already lost the majority by Day 2.

I believe it will just say your target was attacked. It would only tell you the ambush happened if you visited the ambushers target and if you were the only one who visited you'd be dead.

TS heavily reduces evil claim space. One TS role (mayor) is not a viable fake claim, one is risky because it's unique (retri), transporter is only really doable for mafia if they coordinate it (which is a hit to the already slim NK winning chances) and for med you'd have to write really good dead chat to look legit.
