Sadly, because Mario Party is extremely popular and too similar, I doubt this will ever be its own game. Hopefully, though, a mini version of it could be implemented into a game as a mini game or multiplayer feature!!

It should be said that her idea at 14:54 is actually in the game... For the villagers that you have living on the board. As long as they aren't the host, scanning a Villager's card would turn you into them for the roll, and the number on the card would have a higher chance to be rolled. If you do so, you do forfeit your Happy Point that you get for rolling the die each turn. Also, I actually enjoy amiibo Festival, and will boot it up on occasion. I actually enjoy it more than New Horizons.

This game is definitely underrated. I feel like some cool things people don't know are how your town is unique (the board layout will be different between save files) and also if you've saved Happy Home Designer data on an amiibo card then move that character into your town, it'll use the saved house exterior, which is pretty cool!

fun fact about this game: the digby amiibo in the bundle was supposed to be rarer and get phased out of the bundle eventually, but the game sold so poorly that there are still new copies with the digby amiibo that havent sold

I've played the game before with a friend and honestly it was the perfect cute relaxing game to play when a bit more low energy. Those times when Mario Party is too much with all the mini games etc.

Kind of an aside, I’m fairly sure Amiibo Festival sold as well (💀) as it did because the Wii U was Nintendo’s first console that had extremely strict restrictions for devs and third party games. The shop had some more titles, but as far as physical releases, there were hardly any. And the Wii U was super expensive to buy a dev kit for iirc. So it wasn’t worth trying to figure out how to make or adapt games to it, especially for little chance of a digital release.

I have a soft spot for this game. I got it for 2 dollars shortly after launch, I already had all the AC amiibos and a butt ton of cards so playing with friends was easy. We had fun with it even if it was kind of bare bones.

City Folk was my first animal crossing game. I played it for he first time at my cousins and later I would beg my parents to buy is a Wii so I would be able to just play animal crossing. I was obsessed. I was playing it day to night and even staying home “sick” from school to play more lol. Yes, the music is unbeatable.

6:20: The idea for the Switch did have to come from somewhere. It came from 30 years of making handhelds like the GameBoy and 3DS. All that changed was that the dock had an HDMI port. The Switch is not a console, it is a handheld. Nintendo doesn't make consoles.

I played this a lot with a friend of mine when it came out. I really loved it, but shortly thereafter, she moved to another country with her Wii U. I've always wanted to get a Wii U of my own to play it, but I've never been able to justify getting a Wii U just to play Amiibo Festival by myself. It really is just so much better with friends. And sadly -- I have the game, and all of the figures already. Hopefully one day we can get Animal Crossing enthusiasts in our immediate friend circle to play with.

As a not-fan of Animal Crossing, I remember when the game was announced back at E3 2015. The Wii U had gone from struggling to slowly dying by this point, so Nintendo fans were desperate for anything to justify them sticking with their system. When that Isabelle amiibo was shown tapping the GamePad, everyone went "ooh!" but then they showed the game board, and everyone slumped back into their seats. The issue is that Animal Crossing is made by the same team that put out Splatoon literally four months earlier, so a new game wasn't going to happen on the Wii U, and Nintendo commissioned NdCube (the Mario Party guys) to rush out Amiibo Festival for the holidays six months after they put out Mario Party 10 (which was also quite bad). Even worse, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash came out two weeks after Amiibo Festival, and was also infamously rushed with basically no content, so Nintendo fans decided to lump them in together as the perfect showcase of how far Nintendo had fallen during the Wii U era.

Thank you for the video!!! I really appreciate your genuine take on Amiibo Festival. But, now that you have a Wii U I have a favor to ask. If you don't have them already, get yourself a copy of Nintendo Land, Mario Party 10, Wii Party U, Yoshi's Woolly World and if you can find a copy of Game and Wario and Wii Sports Club get those games too! All these games are amazing! Totally underated, underappreciated and ridiculous fun with other people. The Wii U was an incredible console that I still boot up these days. Not only did it have some great games but it is backwards compatible with Wii games so you can enjoy Mario Galaxy 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and many other timeless classics you cannot play on a Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Land will have you and your family having loads of fun!! And if times are hard right now, I promise these games will bring a smile to your faces!...plus, there are really fun Animal Crossing and Pikmin mini games on Nintendo Land that you may enjoy!!

I personally love amiibo festival but not for the gameplay. I mean it was garbage for real. But I got it from Amazon with this Collectors Box for like 10€ I think. In this box were the game (garbage) but also two amiibos (both Isabelle and Digby) AND Amiibo cards and they were guaranteed Rosie, Stiches and Goldie. The amiibos and the cards are actually a win at this pricepoint. Thats the memory I connected to the game, so I can’t hate it.😂

I think they were trying to make sure that amiibo festival doesn't end up as just another mario party but with different characters which is understandable but the game is just void and dull like you land on a space something happens (good or bad and you gain or loose bells/happy points) like they could've added minigames or challenges or different game modes ect. To make the game a lot more cooler and more fun and enjoy to play and i know it needs amiibos to work thus the name but come on! The game shouldnt be THAT Dependent on them it makes the game more boring and worthless to Those who don't even HAVE amiibos It feels like nintendo didn't even try and just made this game as an excuse to make animal crossing amiibos(or make sure they were used idk) But honestly it could be worse....right?😕

I always view city folk and wild world as basically the same, with the main difference just being the console. I am just not a fan of playing animal crossing on DS but I LOVED city folk, it's my most played ac game. I haven't played it in a hot minute now that I'm older, but it was my fave as a tween. I love the music and I woulf always play it when I stayed home sick from school lol. The Wii U seems so weird to play 💀 but I'm sorry to hear ab the breakup my love, you've got this ❤
