Quick note: these spike variants have more of a flat trajectory to maximize velocity whereas the other spike variants operate much more like the javelin/hellfire

Correct. The spike variant will launch upward, but that's just to clear any obstructions in front of it before the missile drops back down to go into its kill phase. Then it moves to strike the vehicle about four or five feet off the ground. Since most tanks lack ERA in those areas, it can easily defeat them head on. Side on though, it doesn't always work.

God, I really hope they add the full functionality of the Spike missiles at some point. Also, it's a wrong Spike variant here - the Freccia has Spikes-LR missiles, so 4-4.5 kilometers range depending on the guidance mode and manual guidance via an optical fiber in addition to the fire and forget mode (you see through the seeker and can lock on a target after the launch), while the Spike-MR is more of a direct Javelin counterpart (fire and forget only) and is meant to be shoulder-launched rather than vehicle mounted.

Those spike launchers are good for anything medium or light, but you can have trouble with heavy tanks with enough armor/ERA to soak up the hit. Also, they tend to hit the same spot, so if you hit a tank and knock off crew, don't spam more- just give it another one once the tank shifts crew around and you'll end up putting a hole into the same position. Otherwise, you're wasting ammo. (And they really do f-up choppers.)

Not only that but some tanks are really dang loud and others are dead silent. You can hear a BT, T-28 or T-34 300m away but a Crusader will be right next to you without even making track noises. Incredibly frustrating sound design, at this point I'm just playing some songs so I can blame them for not hearing any enemies instead of raging out.

Lmao SPIKEs have a smaller payload than some other missiles, but they should create more internal post-pen damage, that doesn't seem to make sense. Wouldn't the missile create a sufficient internal pressure wave to at least turn all the crew yellow, plus secondary spalling from the tandem warhead buffeting against the armor plates before the HEAT jet even enters (unless ERA is present)? These missiles are performing well tracking-wise by the looks of it, a first for Gaijin, but the missile should do more damage.
