I’ve been using an all round wood blade for the 2 years I’ve played so far but I’m going to switch to an Off blade soon. However I’m going to switch to stiga clipper cybershape as you said in your clipper wood review that it is a good blade to switch to from an all round wood blade due to it not being too fast or too slow

Being a world class player is one thing, but being animated and entertaining in playing with non-pros is quite another. Simon definitely knows how to be fun and entertaining.

I really liked the advice Gauzy gave you for the second forehand attack. I have this problem with the second attack when I do my frist attack I usually step back and wait for the ball to come to me and I often miss it. But now that I know why I miss it I will try to fix that mistake in me. Thanks for the great video Dan!

Hello! Just a little tip, I think this topic could be interesting for many table tennis players and get a lot of clicks ;-) Steffen Mengel surprisingly won two WTT feeders in a row. His Butterfly contract has expired and he is now playing a custom-made version from Soulspin. A Soulspin blade review with him would be awesome.

Hey, awesome video. I´d love to see how you rank the HAL Hugo Calderano blade from XIOM among the others. :) I know he uses the racket himself, Hugo, so would be interesting to see how it compares.
@rjmaynar11 ай бұрын
I'm using the Hugo HAL with C53 on both sides at the moment and really like the combination. The Synteliac VCI is the other blade I've been experimenting with but am still intending on trying it with C53. At the moment it has skyline TG2 and Hybrid K3. The skyline is a good rubber, but lost its tack pretty quickly, even with frequent cleaning. The K3 I find is relatively similar to the C53, and find these rubbers to be really effective, especially for loopers. I'm still undecided on which blade I like better (I think they're also quite similar), but both are great to hit with. The VCI might actually have slightly better feel, but I'm no Gauzy (or even Dan, tbh) and would also be interested to hear their take. However, at the end of the day they're similar enough to say that the difference is negligible between them and that good player technique combined with either will have great results.

Simon is one of those players who has 100% natural talent. Could probably go a year without playing and still be able to pull highlight reels from his pocket
@simonleroy9576Ай бұрын
You can tell Gauzy is right about Dan : Dan's so afraid of missing sometimes that he ends up paralyzed and playing extremely slow and passive shots, even though he has the ability to crank up and go for it. You don't need to make 100% of your balls when you attack in a match. 80% can be enough and make you win, but at least you have the initiative. That's the beauty of attacking playstyles.

Nice video. Syntelliac sounds like medical condition🤣 Great tips and tricks from Simon. Btw Dan, his name is pronounced Go-zy as in "go"🙃 Blade-wise, still going between the Acoustic inner carbon and the classic all wood. Both are incredible with Tibhar MK, total spin machines.

Use C48 for my BH on a DHS Long5 blade with AndroR50 on FH.. can say that the C class rubbers andro have made are extremely nice to play with especially if you find the perfect balance between blade speed and rubber. Gauzy says it seemed slow to him with wood blade, so the 53 being harder with a lower speed blade like what is used in this video makes sense, but my recommendation is max thickness C48 with a higher speed blade like the DHSL5

I just started using C48 on my forehand, previously used G1 Fastarc, C48 has felt very secure and easy to use though it feels softer than 48 and I'm still getting my head around the touch for pushes.

You changed the control rating of Harimoto from 8.5 to 8.0. I wonder why? And where does this make the Ovtcharov ALC sit? Because according to you guys it sits between Harimoto and Viscaria. So 7,75? I am genuinely curious. :)

I agree with the Chinese (or tacky) rubber in BH. It is much more comfortable to block, especially slow and spinny balls. You get slightly less power far from the table but with a carbon blade it is still good

Hello, what is the weigt of the blade were Simon was playing with???
@energyforever11 ай бұрын
I am using this blade. Actually very very good.. powerful while having the control you need in defensive game. I am good enough using C53 in bh though, R53 will do!
@energyforever11 ай бұрын
One downside I would say is the blade itself is heavy, so when you do multiballs, it is tiring!
@LanceChhuanaRalte11 ай бұрын
I once owned VCI Synteliac, the performance perfectly matched my playing style. Good feeling, not too fast which are difficult to handle. But the downside for me is that the handle is thin, thinner than Andro Treiber CI, that's the reason for me to change to another blade
@APEXPASSION67411 ай бұрын
Just bought the vci with c53 both side honestly just a tat bit faster than my Hugo calderano sal b4 but a little more speed without sacrificing the great touch anyone interested should give it a try you will be amazed by the blade

Sadly TableTennis equipment is getting more and more expensive making it so much harder to just try some different stuff .... I am still using my All Wood blade that I used like 15 years ago already and got a Rasanter R42 and and my BH still using a 4 years old XSoft which isn't made anymore for I think 7+ years so I basically play some kind of "anti" on my backhand sometimes depending on where I hit the ball XD I'd probably need to try some harder stuff but I couldn't even manage the R42 on my BH as I am used to the XSoft (32.5°) for so many years now.

Interesting that he changed to carbon using the C53. I found the older Andro Gauzy carbon blades (HLCO) with c53 easier to control than the older premium Andro Gauzy SL-OFF all-wood blade (very hard wood). Interestingly enough, I have now gone to using the Stiga Clipper Master all-wood blade with C53 rubber (great speed, spin, and loads of control),
