I played War Thunder with only my VOICE So You Don't Have To...

War Thunder with Voice Controls ONLY. Can it be done? Real Tank Commanders mainly control the tank and crew using only commands issued by speaking, so how hard is it to do it in War Thunder? And is it realistic? Let's find out!

You know, playing a game with squad or hell let loose that has a tank crew with a tank commander with you as a commander would be VERY interesting!

@@PanzerPaw I main tanks on Hell let loose, my experience is just playing and finding people in game who do good by you, if you get what I mean. Don’t have the ability to play squad but I have found plenty of randoms on he’ll let loose who are hella good tank players

I've played tanks on HLL a couple of times now. I definitely enjoyed it but it was in a public game and nobody had a mic. It made it a little tricky.

the reason it was so hard for you to play is probably because the voice commands are hard-coded to do exactly as you say ingame, Im no tank expert but im assuming irl the crew has the ability to adjust what they are commanded to do, suck as when driving through a street the driver will avoid obstacles without having to be told to do so. (obviously) I think this would be a cool challenge as an event or something with everyone doing it

Yep, this is mostly correct. Except for fine movements such as parking, the driver can do a lot of self correction. So, I used to just give my driver directions based on what he can see already and let him do the rest. Tbh, outside of training drills, orders can a lot more relaxed than this, especially once the crew knows their roles and stations well enough.

if you use the laser rangefinder or rangefinder you can identify if their enemy or not just telling you so you can know in future

If you ever want to do something like this again id recommend putting in a command for turning less. Provides a lot more control when you can do either 15 or 45 degrees for example

Funnily enough, during testing, it would just turn forever until it was pivoting. Problem with it is that it's based on timing so the faster your tracks are moving, the more it turns. It's super annoying lol

Yeah, to be fair, the LOSAT was obscured by trees. But lesson learned, I should have taken more time to verify the target. I just assumed there was a higher likelihood of enemies in that direction due to their spawn being close to there.

One thing I will say with voice attack, it does better if you very deliberately separate out the commands. i.e. leave a big, obvious pause before and after them. A few times it ignored you I think it was because you just dropped the command while in full swing commentary mode, it struggles to pick the command out from the rest of what you were saying to youtube that wasn't relevant to voice attack, whereas if you leave obvious pauses at either side of the command, it's a lot easier for it to differentiate. Remember, it doesn't understand any meaning behind the words, only that when it hears this series of sounds, it should do that, if you add sounds before the sounds it's meant to respond to, well that could just be a different string of sounds that means something else. As far as other challenges and such, I think it'd be interesting to see you try to play with completely inverted controls, see how much muscle memory gets ya! And I'm not talking just mouse, you gotta flap your W and S keys too, and A and D, and really anything else that has an obvious oppostie.

Yeah it was having difficulties with that. Mainly because I was doing live commentary and even with it muted, I'd still end up having to pause because it was still listening for words.

The gunner almost always waits for commander's orders to fire. Mainly just to ensure targets are verified properly.

The exception is basically whenever the commander is unable to give the order (out of tank, knocked out, etc.)

Hello Panzer Pew! actually you can use Tranmission Mode, by setting the speed as following : 1st Gear - 2nd Gear- 3rd Gear - 4th Gear 5th Gear.

You mean adjusting its position? Not really. The reticle stays where it is. Assuming it's in stabilised mode, it's the gun that adjusts position instead.

Probably you can shine in lets say, "project reality" , "hell let loose" or "squad" with some of your friends. Voice control in warthunder is junky at best and ı saw a lot of good reflex from you than bad implementation of command from computer. This is gentlemen, driver school shenanigans
