I do appreciate all comments but this one was very nice thank you, this video took a lot of work and it was designed to be exactly that .. a story so it's nice to see that recognised honestly it means a lot ☺️ it seems the desire to see it is there so I shall give it a flight as soon as the weather allows ! Brilliant Gavin I have just returned my Mavic Air 2 because of a camera fault under the refresh scheme so I am hoping everything runs smoothly I think think the refresh scheme is a excellent choice. I would be very interested to see you fly the old bird I used to own one.

@@GAVINHR The problem was when recording video the video playback had a quivering on screen so I contacted DJI support sent them a copy of the problem first response was recalibrate the gimbal which I had already done and the next response was have I got the latest firmware updates and again yes I have so then it escalated to send it back so it’s on its way we will see what happens next.

I actually consider this Drone way better than the DJI Mini, because you get the full obstacle avoidance, way points, all the quick shots, shoots at 4k 30, i have one as well as the Mavic Air 2, you ended up getting a brand new drone, so for what you paid i consider you came way over top, KUDOS!!

The Mavic Air is a great drone with so many important features. Very performing. It was my first drone with which I learned to fly, but above all, to practice to master film shooting. I still use it! The only big problem, like almost all DJI drones, is that after 3-4 years it is difficult to find the batteries. They are not in production, and in a few years there is the risk of not being able to fly anymore. Of the three batteries in the Combo kit, only one is still active, but I think it will leave me in a while...🙈😭

Must be different over there then the US, there's batteries for any and all of them available here, almost everywhere. I couldn't even believe that your comment was a actual concern, because like I said. Batteries are plentiful for anything except older Autel original 4k drone and evos somewhat sparsely available.

It's absolutely baffling why they never did that! Some people have more money than sense, I did check the logs on the drone as it seems people have been trying since 2019 to get this drone going and never worked ! I actually thought I could refresh the firmware and just get DJI to activate it but they ended up swapping it for a working one I was very lucky and all credit to DJI

Honestly I can't fault DJI at all, they took it back for repair no questions asked - I gather this was because it was an activation issue so it had never flown as unless it's activated it won't spin the props. Glad you liked the video it was a fun one to try!

Sorry I actually thought I'd replied to everything, technically yes you could do that if you found a drone you could just pair it to a new controller or even the same one, for example. RC N1 controller works with the mini 2 / air 2 you could just take the one controller out with you and both drones and just pair them on site. No me neither however maybe they did return it, for example if they bought it from Amazon and returned it people can buy these "returns crates" online which will be full of a mix of faulty / working bits .. that's my suspicion, looking at the logs somebody has tried to turn it on a few times but after researching it was a common fault it seems with this drone. Sorry for the delay

Put in my name credentials etc and took the DJI Care Refresh they would have that on record as my drone and controller. Maybe contacting DJI and tell them where i lost it, if it would make any difference. Just a concern of mine, no i have not lost my drone. 🙂👍

I think it would be a great video especially for beginners. You don't always have to have to the latest and greatest (which is pretty expensive) to enjoy the hobby. I still think the Spark is a good choice for beginners and I recently got the Air 2S for 750 from Amazon and an extra battery for 65 on Ebay.

Congrats you made a very good deal! 180 pounds for a new Mavic Air! It is a very decent drone, with FCC hack and some antenna amplifiers you have a nice transmission signal. In urban environment I reach 2km. Good advise, verify you wifi environment to have the least signal interference. Disable the wifi from your phone as well as bluetooth (bluetooth use same frequency as Wifi) to push the signal to its limits. It has sensors, d-cine profile etc... Sports mode is a lot of fun and you reach 68.4 km/h max speed. The wind will not push this drone like the mini 2 but stays very stable and you have similar compact size. It was my first drone, it's like the first love you always have the best memories. So sad I had broken it, it was below a tree and started to ascend to return home, it was a disaster. It broke in many pieces 😭

I'd like to buy a broken drone off eBay and make a similar video, while at the same time upgrade from the DJI Mini 2. I have my eyes set on an Air 2 S. Problem is that most vendors on eBay as way too much money for their crap (that's all you can call some of the stuff). A broken drone, especially if it's been crashed, should cost next to nothing. But so far all I'm finding is very expensive garbage.
