You should consider replacing the master cylinder with a Type R one since its 1inch bore if it isnt replaced already. With these 4 pistons it will help with pedal response/distance since it can move the fluid better in order to make the brake pads engage sooner. Also that issue could be the IACV, also try to adjust the idle air screw.

Wanna try a larger rear brake setup. Use rsx, or ep3 capilers, pads, and 02-03 si rotors, swap e-brake brackets left to right, really nice to go with the fronts.
