This and Carrion are the two "platformers" I love. I say this because normally I'm not a platformer guy, nothing against the genre, in fact I sometimes really love seeing it get played, it's just not really for me, I guess I just have trouble with the lack of control comparative to most modern games, as normally platformers leave the camera set in stone and the player to be the only thing you are controlling. I think what makes Carrion and My Friend Pedro work for me is that both allow you to control the camera, sure it is subtle sometimes, but personally I like that control, the lack of it is the reason I find games like shovel knight so hard. It's like, if you've built something up so much in your mind, like moving your character and your camera together, then it's weird to not have one, you know? It would be like taking way the ability for me to see through my eyes and have to base my life around set in place cameras around my house and the outside world, I would likely have shit coordination if it just suddenly changed to that lol. Either way, that's just me, and there are exception to this, it's just in general I have a lot more trouble with platformers if I don't have at least a little control of what the camera does.
