If the video isn't edited to make it seem more dangerous, it appears that he wore absolutely no PPE when he turned it on the first time, so they're pretty close. Also, people are freaking out about the angle grinder but the PLA isn't going to do much when you have safety goggles on. The unbalanced kitchen knives actually made me wince though. EDIT: Never mind, I went to check out his video again and that was definitely WAY worse. He practically sat under it with no PPE, the madman.

Yeah blender is great for doing animations and game assets, or stuff like figurines. If you want more engineeering-esque builds, Fusion 360 is great because its free for hobbyists and there's tons of documentation on how to use it. And way easier to generate files for printing.
