Hitting it out of the park, again Walt! Cool to see you deploy an antenna from N9SAB. I just got his end fed half wave for 40m-10m and it is great. Nice build and really light. I've got it at the house running an inverted V from a tree in the garden. Appreciate your PSA, ignore the haters. I'm learning cw myself, but like you said the cool thing about radio is you can do your own thing. For me it is experimenting with and understanding propagation so I dig your efforts in terms of trying new things. Soldier on, brother.

Awesome video.. Amazing contacts and fun can happen on HF low power SSB (using 20,000mW, LOL).. Thanks for sharing in all your adventures in Poland... Also, thanks for including the distance for your QSO's.. For a guy sitting in Iowa, I have no idea what the distance is from your QTH to the different areas of Europe and your subtitles help give a good reference.. thx for the great content as always ! !... 73, k0klb

I don't know why so many people insist on telling others what they should be doing. It's quite obvious you love what you're doing. I'm getting ready to order this same antenna in the 10m flavor with the 1:1 choke balun. I've just ordered the Xiegu G90 to go with this antenna. But wouldn't you know it, 10m is dead now. 73s Walt.

Hey Walt! Yet another video that I really enjoyed watching. 👍📻⚡Thanks for the nice production. I got into amateur radio more recently because of the lure of voice contacts from near and far as well. While I also enjoy trying the digital modes and seeing how far my weak signal goes, phone/voice is the catalyst for my radio passion. Thanks for addressing comments from those that want to tell you what to do with your hobby. And, as they say, "You do you". 👍 Cheers Walt! Tom - WA7FLY

I always enjoy the experimentation. Thanks for doing that. It almost seems you were NVIS with the sloper configuration. Kind of interesting. Watching to check out your use of the N9SAB antenna (just ordered two with the choke - Tim customized both for CW frequencies and I had them five days after ordering them) and saw your PSA, which I think is spot on. To each their own. Hilariously, I got into CW because I never wanted to hear anyone say, "Roger roger" again. Enjoyed the video. Thanks Walt.

I agree with the PSA. I’m the same way. If you like FT8 or CW, good for you. The best part of amateur radio is that you can do what you want with it. For me it isn’t the number of contacts, it’s being able to talk one on one with a distant contact on my G90.

Nice video! I noticed that your SWR was peaking at 2.5 - 3 in the first part of the video, but when you changed the antenna to a sloper then the SWR improved somewhat. I was wondering if you were getting any RF back into your radio. I was able to tune a 20 meter dipole inside the house upstairs, but when I transmitted, the SWR was all over the place. 73 KD5YOU

Shame the French station did not give you a signal report, but at the same time in the Russian RDA contest, the only stations non Russian hams log are Russian stations only !! You would be easy to work from here in the South West of France however finding the mic for the rig is more complicated at i almost never operate on phone. Nice video as always and a neat little single band antenna, might just get one myself...

@@COASTALWAVESWIRES the trick is the pole. They're either a)way overpriced for a collapsible b) really heavy or thin-walled to save weight. Both present problems for the mobile activation, either heavy to pack or flimsy on wind c) sketchy locking for the sections/they collapse easily or don't hold up their own weight well, especially taller poles d) aren't tall enough (or, again, if they are tall enough, they're super thick walled and nearly 8+ to 10 lbs a pole!), which is a huge issue for QRP wattages
