Interesting to hear! I think both TikTok and IG are in a bad place in terms of community. I’ve had a few huge reels with lots of follower growth and then it stagnates and I never hear from those people again

Yea KZbin is best. Ig is alright, the story game is there plus you actually show up in the feed (or you know at least some, even if it’s way less now), then TikTok yea it’s all about the for you

It’s also super interesting to see some TikTokers in the UK and US blow up and lead lavish lifestyle from their TikTok creator funds (apparently $2 RPM). Meanwhile, UAE, nothing. I mean I’ve seen their HQ and have some cool merch but I can’t feed myself from it.

I will say, with the right type of content you can definitely get sponsors for tiktok and shorts, that said... Most of the creators I know, including myself are tired of tiktok, and would much rather focus on long form!

🇨🇦 Canadian here who followed you to KZbin from tiktok. Your explanations in this video makes a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing. Personally, I love the ease of creating fun videos on tiktok, but it's not a business for me. Their tools make it so simple for a grandmother like me to create fun stuff for my grandson. However, I'm not too keen on all the strange fake followers, bots, I guess? So while it's easier for me to create on tiktok, I prefer KZbin as my steady diet for consumption of interesting, educational, and manageable content.

I've never been sure on how much people jump around apps. :) Yea TikTok is not all bad, and it's an fun app. For me now then I just don't see why I should put my time into at this stage. Words really cannot express the happiness I still experience when thinking of my time there. I just felt so at home and as a powered wheelchair user I need to tell you I felt more accepted than I actually do here at times. The effort your government and general population put into accessibility and dignity for those of us with disabilities is sonethimg you can all be so proud of. I told my family and friends when I got home that if I didn't have such strong ties here in Nova Scotia I would definitely want to make Reykjavik my home. tiktok has some serious security issue... thats why its banned in India and should be banned in the whole world... yes it was because of some political reason, but it is also banned in the country it got originated from... if anyone have doubt, then test a theory... you utter one word for couple of days and tiktok will magically shows you clips regarding that word

KZbin is actually footing the bill for all the content we see. They are the only ones that pay a respectable amount for the work put in. If it wasn't for KZbin allowing creators like myself to earn a living, there wouldn't be very much content on the other platforms. I create for KZbin, get paid by KZbin, and get a trickle of $$ from the other platforms for the same content, sometimes with more views.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was guessing Tiktok wouldn't make as much money like e.g. YT, but I also guess it highly depends on your niche / content and if it is brand friendly. I remember from my old job in fashion they would budget a lot of money to play the ads on all socials and pay influencers, specificly on platforms where young people are on. And unfortunately today that's Tiktok. Great video as always my friend!

I agree 100% with that, If you can't make money on TikTok like people are doing in the states for example, it's almost pointless. You just use it to point people to Instagram or KZbin. I think KZbin is the greatest platform out there for creators!

KZbin still is (and likely will be) the final boss of the Social Media game. As much as people can make money and get opportunities from other platforms, it all leads back to KZbin. It has all of the best factors of WHY a creator does content creation built in. You always hear IGers, TikTokers, LinkedIn’ers (LOL) want to become KZbinrs…you never hear a KZbinr want to become any of the aforementioned - unless it’s simply need to expand their reach

Man I've been posting on KZbin (not consistently granted) since 2007 and I'm still not monetized lol. I got ONE paycheck back in the day before they changed up the game for monetization. I got monetized on Tik Tok in like 5-6 months I think but I agree, the community isn't there. I'm almost tempted to ditch my current KZbin channel and start over. My videos perform good on every other platform except here.

The bill to ban TikTok in the US was already passed by US Congress. Biden had already agreed to sign the bill as well. Now, it's got to go through the US Senate. If the ban comes through, it's going to change a lot of creators' livelihoods, as well as businesses who use the platform for Ads and Shops (like me). TikTok has brought much success to all my stores (Etsy, Shopify and TikTok Shop). Hopefully, ByteDance realizes they should sell it off to be American-owned.

Good decision and nice video 😀. Maybe a lot of people want to watch some videos at work and don't want it to be so obvious. Even if they have time. So it has to be on a pc or laptop. Instagram and Tiktok are somehow strange experiences outside of mobile devices while youtube works great. Could be another minor advantage for KZbin 😄.

not sure, I haven't really seen any big influx of followers. I feel that most people tend to like one app and stay mostly there. However I've always been an advocate of being on many places, because then you're personal brand will be seen across mulplie different platforms. But as I said in the video, now that I have two kids and don't have the same time anymore then I've been feeling like it has split my attention and focus to much. Basically since I'm a one man show I've been spreading myself thin. Plus the fact that monetizing is not as good as here and the app is idk, not nearly as fun as yt imo :)

Mix of all, mostly selling my own digital products and then sponsorships. I don’t do that many sponsored videos, but the ones I do I make with brands I really like and make sure to get paid for them. Ad revenue has always been very low and not something to rely on. Just a nice bonus. However now that I’m focusing more on yt it’s starting to pick up and usually sits in 2k a month atm. Not life changing or anything, but it’s not bad.

I'm doing KZbin as a hobby. Got arround 700k views (Time Warp Iceland) . I've made around 5k total. I've got the same amount of views on TikTok, I've made zero there.
