I’m glad this video popped up on my recommend page. I have been going to college full time and working part time. But I work in the retail side of things at my job and I have been feeling so drained. I absolutely love the people I work with and they are the main reason I have continued to work there. But the main issue I have is just feeling so tired when I get home. I have no energy and even when I try to push myself to do things I like I end up having trouble enjoying them. I plan to spend a few more months at my job, just so I have enough money to have for a little while. But after those last few months I plan to focus a lot of my energy on just school and getting ready to find a job that is more related to my degree I am getting. Seeing this video though really put in to perspective that if I want to achieve what I want in life I need to try to remove myself from things that are taking away the energy I could instead be putting towards the things I am passionate about.

I worked for a few years after school and decided to go to university at 22. I was afraid I wouldn't fit in among the 18-year-olds who had just finished school. But, man, it feels so much easier for me to actually study because of all the experience I gained from my job. I'm an introvert, but can talk freely with classmates and teachers and can solve conflicts just how I learned to do with clients. Plus being more "adult" in my field of interests helps me to study History, Sociology and Philosothy properly. I also have a 40+ y.o. (!!!) coursemate and he is going great for same reasons. All I want to say is that you've made a great decision, and it's never too late to get a degree, change your career and stuff. Good luck!

You should feel proud that you took this step in life a lot of people become comfortable in a situation that they are in and even if they hate it they stay there. There are people that will call you crazy for doing this but it doesn’t matter what they think. Prioritize your happiness and flourish from this moment bro. 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Hey man thanks for sharing this. Ik stuff like this can be hard to talk about, as it can feel embarrassing. I’m 24 also and currently have a plumbing job that on paper is everything I could ask for, but it’s been eating me from the inside. I’m in a same boat as you where this is something that i decided a long time ago and even back then I didn’t really want to work here. I’m struggling to get and find a solution but glad to hear that you were able to be rid of that terrible cycle.

i’d love to see your perspective 6 months to a year from now, that’d be a great video to explain how you went through and executed your plan, love to see topics like this based around good and honest commentary, as a 20 yr old this video helps broaden my outlook on the adult life😂

You’ve saved enough money not only to quit your job, but to go to a 4 year school and not need a part time job….dude what? My brother in Christ whatever job you left go back now and keep earning those hundreds of thousands.

Hahaha I’ve been working for the past 10 years, mostly full time other than around 2015-2018. There were times I’ve held two jobs at once and I’ve always been really good with saving money/minimizing spending. For a majority of the past decade I had little expenses so that made saving easy. I also invested pretty heavily into crypto. Thank you for the comment man and I really appreciate you checking out the video!

The whole point of going to school for a degree is to ultimately get a job. Even doctors are working jobs. You've mentioned that you hate working a 9 to 5, yet your end goal is to get accredited to inevitably work a 9 to 5. Save yourself the time and focus on something more beneficial to you instead of school. It sounds like it isn't for you anyways and you seem to be using it as an excuse to seem productive.

Hey thanks for watching! You’re not wrong, I just feel like if I were to pursue something else that isn’t the traditional way the chances it works out for me might not be too high. I definitely am not thrilled about the idea of going to school but I’m just trying to think as realistically as possible.

Education doesn't seem something for you. Just get like a 16 hour job or something. 2 days times 8 hours and you should have more than enough to pay your bills monthly and only have to work 2 days weekly. That should be manageable.
