I’ve just realized. Trav is a genius. He has people watching thinking this channel is all about a guy working hard - never giving up - and going after his hockey journey dream. BUT - that’s not it. It’s not a hockey journey. He’s played less than 10 games in 8 years. So it’s not about hockey. The reality is he isn’t really trying to play hockey at all. It’s a travel channel - and an airport lounge advertisement. He wants to focus on trains and airplanes. He’s a genius - and transitioning the channel to a travel channel. It has barely any hockey content anymore. We never see him practicing - getting shots - working on the craft. It’s a travel channel. Pure genius. He’s fooled all of us.

Unfortunately those videos demonstrated pretty quickly that very few peoplexare interested in an ex hockey bro talking about anything other than hockey. Pat Shea has also recently found this out after quitting actual minor Pro (ECHL/AHL). So Trav has stretched out his "hockey career" to this dog$h!t level to stay relevant, because as soon as he admits it's over his viewers dissappear. Anyway, let's see if he starts tonight for his new team and can actually put some stats on the (mens league) board.

@@atex6175 it only needs to be on the ice when in ready stance and when in butterfly. Even NHL goalies have their stick off the ice when the play is not in their end zone. Modifications to his stick is not a problem and not what a coach should be focusing on.

I have to say I find it interesting that the term "pro" is used so casually when North Americans talk about adult leagues that are in fact not professional leagues. In Finland there are also a bunch of Canadian/American guys who play the 5th highest level and openly post contract signing photos and extensively thank their parents, teachers, dogs you name it for believing in them that they would one day play professional hockey (when in fact they are not paid fuck all). I am all for playing competitive hockey as an adult don't get me wrong, but let's keep the transparency and call things as they are.

These guys are glorified beer league players making enough money to barely afford to eat every week but some how these guys think their pros. I find it embarrassing to be honest. I get not wanting to stay in Spain, from a hockey point of view. It was sold as this ideal and things didn't go to plan. But, the issues that were raised (no access to the rink, no locker storage, no tape, etc.) is that going to be any better in Ft. Wayne? If not, why the move? If the hockey isn't any better of a standard, why not stay in a new country and see what happens? That said, I'd rather be one short flight from my partner than a long-haul flight and a transfer away.

Only those that have taken shots should have an opinion. It seems like alot of players watch and think all goalies do is stand in front of the puck and let it hit us. Keep up the good work trav this position is taxing on the body and teams will wear a goalie out really quick so I think you made the right call. I don't care about competitive hockey I watch for the goaltending content. Remember the days of playing for the love trying out for the kings winking at reporters and trash talking. Don't forget about hockey being an awesome sport and forget the haters.

You have to look out for yourself and do what you know is right. The management in Logrono seemed to have no concept about how to look after players at your level. As one person commented here it smacks of running a beer league, except in beer league you know what to expect.

As a european, I learned today that Spain has a Hockey league :D For real tho, it seems pretty obvious that Spain is a complete mess when it comes to hockey. If you want to have the next european experience, then maybe go to Germany (could see you in 3rd league there called Oberliga), Scandinavia (no brainer) or eastern europe. Thing is, they have a lot of awesome guys already, so not sure where you fit in there.

I know that you can play prohockey in very exotic places and i know many guys who have played in Spain, Turkey etc and they’ve been ”pro” there. Getting houses and very little amount of money.. But in Finland they all are amateur players, playing third or fourth tier. I kind of like that Trav is trying, but i think it’s time to focus this KZbin and beerleague stuff. I’m not also pro, but Travs movement and skating are so bad. I think he trys to use his size very much and try to look calm, but he looks so small in goal especially to be 6,5 tall. Butterfly stance is so narrow and he is just slow in goal. In videos it looks like he’s working alot, but i think he’s just very very average goalie. I like the content, but i also get angry watching it. He never finds any blame on himself.
