well, when you start a new game to try again, remember to actually connect to the power grid. 1. open the tablet 2. click blue COM button on left 3. inform the city you're operational to connect to the grid 4. wait a couple hours in the game for them to start accepting your power.

Operating and maintaining steam power plants is literally my profession. (I have a couple short videos of a plant i visited on my channel) I'm making this comment before i watch anything. I am Canadian but we use PSI for most pressure readings and Celsius for temperature. I will assume this is a cold start of the plant and everything is off except maybe for critical cooling of the nuclear fuel. 1. Look at all of your heat exchangers and make sure there is water flow. The valves should be open and the circulation pumps should be on. the last thing you want is a safety popping and filling the whole room with steam because you forgot to check. 2. To bring the plant online you need to make sure that the there is no water in the steam lines so open up condensate drains on all of the cold(room temp) lines. Once steam enters there will be so much condensation it will overwhelm the condensate system. Once the lines are warm enough to start maintaining steam pressure without condensing immediately (20 PSI) you should be able to close the drains. 3. The turbines take hours to start up. They MUST be brought up to temp and speed slowly. Start the turbine barring (slowly rotates the turbine) system and heating. All turbines are different, it could be direct stem heating or indirect case heating. 4. Slowly bring the boiler online (use the nuclear fuel) with low fire/heat. That could be using only one burner out of 10 for a large boiler, or using one burner with a very little fuel going in, or using one fuel rod out of 50 you may have. 5. There are generally several different levels of steam pressure in the plant: 1200PSI, 600PSI, 160PSI, 60PSI, 5PSI to name some common ones. Once you get close (80% ish) to the operating pressure (highest pressure line of the system) start bringing steam-using equipment online from highest pressure to lowest. You want to heat up all of the equipment and make it operable without using more steam than you can generate and vice versa. 6. This is the the part that takes skill, experience, and knowing what you're doing. Everything is primed to be brought fully online. You must now balance the steam/pressure production with the consumption of the equipment as you ramp up all of the equipment. Bring the turbines and heat exchangers online by hand one at a time. Once the turbine generator is synced with the grid looking a the synchroscope put it into power generating mode and then full auto. Assuming everything went well you can put the boiler/steam generator on auto and the plant will run itself and you can relax.

I have now watched the video. My recommendation is to hit the turbine trip on the panel and lower the control rods. Get that plant offline stat. That turbine is not safe to run. You only have 1 of 3 installed so you are unable switch over to a safe turbine and keep the plant operational. Keep the coolant system running. All of the pressures and temperatures will lower and alarms will go off but literally doesn't mean anything because that is the goal. If the turbine trip doesn't work then (OH MY GOD, panic) run down and shut of the INLET steam by hand. Make sure you lower the control rods first before leaving the control room. Repair the turbine and bring the plant online again. Random bits of knowledge that may or may not be applicable to the game: Condenser operation: A condenser that has to little coolant(condensate) could explode/melt and a condenser that has too much is not always an issue; it will just overflow or vent onto the ground or into tank, obviously not the best but better than too little. NCG purging: The vacuum pump is used to remove Non-Condensable Gases. Steam condenses into water, air will not condense. You want *only* water vapor in your steam lines. NCGs usually accumulate in the condenser. Having NCGs in condenser will lower its ability to condense steam into water. If you produce some steam at a VERY low pressure (1-10 PSI), run the pump, and have the condenser online, then air will migrate to the condenser and get removed from the steam system via the vacuum pump. Turn the pump off after purging the system. Turbine safety: Standard practice is to test the turbine trip of a turbine once before being put into operation. There are two types: manual and automatic. Test the manual by hitting the trip button, and test the automatic by safely over-speeding the turbine until it trips. If either fail, fix it before using the turbine. Rounds: Walk around the entire plant, get familiar with the locations, visually inspect the equipment. Leaks happen and you cant rely on instruments to catch it. Rounds are actually a huge deal in real power plants. Backup systems: When not in use make sure they are in automatic. If power goes out you won't get it back if your emergency generator is in manual mode instead of automatic. Steam pressure/temp: The most important thing to monitor is steam pressure. The temperature can go all over the place due to superheat. If the steam temperature is in the red THEN worry. To fix it reduce steam production, increase condenser flow, bring another turbine online, basically anything you can do to increase steam consumption or reduce production.

0:22 is incorrect. this game is not very realistic and has a lot of inaccuracies. i do not work in a nuclear power plant IRL, however i have spent a while now researching PWRs (the reactor type this game is apparantly using) and working on a close to 1:1 simulation of one.

nucleares definitely is not a proper pressurized water reactor. the design is a weird one (according to the devs it's an experimental research reactor) but could still work in theory. of course it does not have nearly any of the safety systems modern reactors have, and gives WAYYY too much control to operators (with barely any automation), and would definitely be worse than Chernobyl's RBMK design in practice.

20:25 Enable a 2'nd steam generator? I assume that should half the... pressure? steam? flow? whatever it is too much of? Also, disable nr 3 generator, because it is almost broken (22% integrity) and enable generator 1 (& 2) instead, then you can repair generator 3 when it is not running (assuming the game has a repairing mechanic?)

The reason why your generator is probably at a low condition is because its overworked or because it has foreign substances in it (such as coolant) so there is 3 things you could do to fix it. A: figure out how to connect it to the grid B: allow less steam to pass through or C: allow more or less coolent to pass through (im not sure which would be necessary).
