Love the recommendations. I’m still surprise how some people can read a book so fast! I read two of these books, it took me weeks to finish 😅

I always feel like a book was worth reading if you pick up at least 1 thing, tip, quote or idea that sticks with you. Something you come back to when situations arise that it could apply to. Sometimes one quote or idea can sum up the entire point of a book

The essential thing that everyone should be thinking about right now is investing in non-government sources of income. Especially in light of the current global economic crisis. It is still a wonderful moment to invest in gold, silver, digital money, and stocks.

The subtle art, despite being a bit of a meme at this point, is actually one of those books that really is full of those “a-ha” moments. And Atomic Habits for sure has a few life changers in there - you were dead on with habit stacking, that really is the key take away of that book. Great video 👍🏻

There are studies that found self help books do more harm then good, at the end of the day just making people feel bad about themselves or becoming more self critical. Also if they really helped it wouldn’t be a multi billion dollar industry because people wouldn’t need to keep buying. Just be aware that if you find it doesn’t make you feel good it’s okay not to continue reading them ❤

good advice that if it doesn’t make you feel good, then stop reading. but i’ve found that some of the recent self help books have been more inspiring for me than harmful- for example brene brown books and atomic habits. i wouldn’t put all self help books under the same umbrella but for sure some are toxic but some are actually helpful ❤️

The third book you discussed struck a chord with me. The situation you describe is basically where I am now, I'm working abroad but I've returned to this place after being in the US for many years. I chose this job and this company because I know from past experience that they're legit, and I enjoy my job so much. But at the same time, some of the people I work with are in that "passing through" phase, just kinda using their job to be here and planning where they'll go next, and because they're doing that, they tend to complain about work more. I know, I used to do the same thing when I was working somewhere I didn't want to be. My aunt told me long ago, "Bloom where you're planted," and my response at the time was, "But I don't feel planted anywhere." But now I do.

Would anyone be interested in helping me with a little social experiment on another video? I still struggle with my confidence due to my disabilities and lack of "normality." But I want to see how well people respond to confidence when you're different and disabled, to test that whole "it doesn't matter what others think of you" moral. I want to see if believing in it--and yourself--saves your dignity. In this experiment, I would act all confident despite my weaknesses, and whoever wants to join in would play a mean role who belittles me, to see if people will stand up to you. Then we tell the person we were just testing them. Anyone interested?

Of the five, I've only read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and, sorry, hated it with passion. It's self-obsessed sexist mansplaining. Just the fact that he used the example of an abuse victim making false accusations against her father to illustrate his point about false memories shows this guy's tact.

"Dale Carnegie started this whole school of positive philosophy, positive thinking: Don’t see the negative part, don’t see the darker side. But by your not seeing it, do you think it disappears? You are just befooling yourself. You cannot change reality. The night will still be there; you can think that it is daytime for twenty-four hours, but by your thinking it, it is not going to be light twenty-four hours a day. The negative is as much part of life as the positive. They balance each other. The philosophy of positive thinking means being untruthful; it means being dishonest. It means seeing a certain thing and yet denying what you have seen; it means deceiving yourself and others. Positive thinking is the only bullshit philosophy that America has contributed to human thought-nothing else. Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, and the Christian priest, Vincent Peale-all these people have filled the whole American mind with this absolutely absurd idea of a positive philosophy. And it appeals particularly to mediocre minds. The very idea that you want to influence people is the idea of a salesman, and that’s what Dale Carnegie was-salesman turned philosopher. The whole philosophy can be condensed into a simple sentence: if you want people to be influenced by you, just behave the way they think is the right way to behave. You prove to be their ideal, which they also want to be but have not been able to be yet. Of course, you cannot become anybody else’s ideal, but you can pretend. You will become a hypocrite. And if you are going to influence many people, then of course you will have to have many personalities, many masks, because each person is influenced by a different mask. You will have to continuously pretend that which you are not, and you will have to hide that which you are. Now this is what makes a man phony."

Wasn't impressed with subtle art of etc atomic habits was quite good. Hands down one of the best books I read was Tony Robbins unlimited power. Completely changed the way I think & introduced me to the topic of n.l.p if You'll not read any those I highly recommend. Way ahead of these other books. Plus Jim rohn Robbins mentor his audible book was amazing also. Plus his old videos were also amazing. That man could talk, yet the information & humour he shared got the point across. A lot of the self help books nowadays can be very rigid & don't help to get underneath our own psychology. Check them guys out. N.l.p by John grinder was a nice introduction to the subject. Very cool to know we can break old thought patterns.

Taber. 💯😍💯 love ur videos. Although there’s probably a self help complex in the book complex so thanks for putting out there the top tier. And cause I’m just old like to me and it’s not like really know or know anything but I think knowing sociological political terms is way more self help and self actualization than atomic habits. I think zadie smith NW is really good, it is fiction/literature. And like for me it’s not something to just read it’s like to walk through life. Also, markets of labors, leaps of faith I think it’s called I can’t remember the author it’s about Katrina. Yeah super serious but like I don’t know how self help is going to make climate change just go away. If that’s just not how gen z rolls, like blackout podcast season 2 with king is really good.

Also I will recommend listening Elon about life goals. In the end if you want the best advices what to do with your life use the one of the most achieved person in the world.
