I think the dev needs to add, "Harvest" missions where you are tasked with "Harvesting" a murderous alien prior to missions. The alien would eat one of the team in return for the person being eaten being absent in the next mission. Instead of 5 $ you would get 250$ ensured.

The lack of a goal is why this game is so fun, its the reason you can walk up to two guys with one explaining how landmines work, then stepping on the land mine killing all three of you then laughing like mad rather than being pissed cause the greater goal is now unobtainable when every run is already doomed to fail from the get-go.

I can understand the whole solo-player, no friend type deal. But I gotta be honest, I went into a lobby once, with chinese players, I don't speak a word of it but we ALL understood each other by moving around and general knowledge, we saw nutcracker, we all went back and get zap-gun and shovels and killed it, not a single word said, ofc it wasn't anything like playing with a 4-man friend group but it was such a chill and tranguil experience. This game can transcend speech xD.

I think there being "No goal" is really the only valid complaint that I would agree with. Like, you use Minecraft and Slime Rancher as examples of games that you can play endlessly, and that's completely true, but you've completely ignored the fact that BOTH of those games have an "ending" or "end goal" that you can achieve if you choose to do so. I know Lethal Company has stuff planned and in the works, so in a way it's not really an issue as the game simply isn't finished. But story wise, personally I hope that there WILL be a way to "save" yourself and your crew to achieve some sort of ending if you want to not play endlessly - especially since you _can't_ play endlessly. At some point the quota gets to high it's impossible to continue on. I don't think you're _supposed_ to keep playing.

Also, there are many ways to progress in minecraft and many more to play. Really, minecraft should've never been brought up because they have nothing in common. But bringing its cousin phasmophobia up wouldnt have done anything because it has the same problem. The game isnt for everyone, but that isnt brought up. I am partially deaf and can attest that you can actually see a lot better with and without a flashlight in this game then a lot of other games. It's only really a struggle if you have low vision, but glasses and using a flashie in game seem to work for most people. I would like audio queue indicators (what direction audio is coming from) in the future. I think its a really impressive game for it being indie. So much content and really well made Edit: I should preface that I rely on sight for playing most games due to my bad hearing. Especially directional

On top of "no end goal", I think another valid complaint is that it needs some more tilesets. The "industrial" stuff gets kind of samey after a while, so the mansion tileset is a breath of fresh air. Maybe stuff like laboratories or a big botanical research station would be great. I'd also recommend a randomly spawning charging station - maube with a limited number of charges. It's a great game, though, and even with randoms it can be loads of fun.

the inverse teleporter straight into a springhead is almost as funny as my 4th time using inverse teleporter spawning ontop of a mine, not looking down and blowing up game has sick sense of humor, at times mines under the fire exit, bracken camping the fire exit, little girl spawning outside right as the ship lands

@@dinoaurus1 The inverse teleporter, while dropping your items, does speed up time to get into the building which helps at harder planets because I believe I heard no real monsters spawn until like 10am or sometime but even if that is wrong earlier on the monsters aren't as numerous and its relatively safe. Besides the situations that can unfold are usually always funny.

agreed ive speculated with a friend of mine that its a way of breaking down the wall at the company building to find out whats up with the company. im also fairly certain its connected to the apparatus because its the only item thats got questionmarks upon first scanning it and second of all its the only item that is found in a special room(generator room) also the 2 slots on the secret look exactly like the generators where you take the apparatus out of so maybe the company will be the final dungeon with the players blowing up a way inside but first you need 2 apparatus before to access?

Most of the people that hate on this game have either not played it more than maybe 15 to 30 minutes, or just don't have any friends. I don't say that in a meme-ish "ha ha, look at the no friend loser." kind of way, I'm saying this in more of a "This game genuinely is better with other people." kind of way. The amount of gut busting laughter you can experience seeing one of your friends get fucked over by a monster, jump off a catwalk into a pit of death on accident, or die on the ship while you spectate them to a dog creeping up to them while they flip switch to take off to fleeting safety only to have the monstrosity jaw fuck them into a VIP full access pass to the gates of heaven- yeah, it's fucking hilarious. The people who can't experience this are of course going to get bored pretty quickly when they have no one to make said experiences with, and that is genuinely sad.

To be fair there is PLENTY of stuff to criticize the game on. THe graphics are terrible, beyond 'art style' terrible. Like "its hard to read the readout on the terminal" bad, where HDLethal Company mod is mandatory if you have a half decent monitor. The server browser is sophmore-in-college grade, no sorting by player count. No sorting by best connection, no server history to see recent players. You join a public lobby and the host says hes going to restart it? Sucks for you its a pain to find the lobby again. Then you can criticize monster-player interaction. Aggro an eyeless dog? Well its perma-aggro'd on the last area it heard you, if thats by the ship entrance, it camps it the rest of the game. Aggro'd a giant? It will follow you forever. If it follows you to the ship, it camps the entrance.

Also giants are not bad as you should get a teleporter incase that stuff happens, you can tp as they are getting chased if no one can stun it. There's so many strats that you learn after some time played. I have around 40hrs now and can regularly get to well over 2500 quota with my friend as a 2man. As group of 4 it's even easier and you will usually have one in ship, two roaming and one grabbing loot back to ship. Even ghost girl can be made useless

It's a genius choice, the game is clearly built around multiplayer with 4 players, and by having it be $10 you can buy it for your friends, equating to about $40-$50 total. I doubt this was intentional, as Zeeekers tends to set their games at abnormally low prices for the experience they offer, but it's food for thought

For a game that has no overarching goal, it's the first multiplayer game that I've actively enjoyed playing without having some other kind of incentive to keep logging in (battlepasses/special events). Most multiplayer games get old and I just use them to play with friends because the randoms in other games can be rough. This game has core gameplay that always makes me feel part of the team and I love it.

One thing about other multiplayer games is that they’re so aggressively competitive that it makes them not fun to play. This game however is way more cooperative which leads to whole lot less anger from both you and your friends. I think that also partially comes from not having an overarching goal so when you lose it’s more of a, “New PB! it's almost like you don't need fomo incentives to hop on and play something if that something is actively engaging and fun lol only actual incentive we have atm is to goof off and have fun, and the game's really, really good at providing opportunities for such I sorta don't know if I'd prefer an endgame goal over more opportunities to mess around. on one hand, being able to end a run sounds neat and gives players something to actually play towards, however I think it would lend to people getting fussy about goofing off if that person would prefer to just rush the goal. I've met a lot of randoms in my lobbies, and they've universally just been chillin for a good time in a good game. I think the dynamic could change if a steady goal was actually set and I don't think I'd prefer it over continuation of monsters, moons and a bit more narrative.

About the scaling - from what me and my friends noticed, there is actually one based on player count, but it doesn't affect the quota, it affects the amount of loot. We might be delusional about this, but we noticed how much the amount varies based on player count, especially if you have mods increasing the player count (items literally everywhere). I'm aware of the possibility that it might have been the mod affecting this, yet we still noticed a big difference between 2 and 4 players in vanilla. All that means is that even if you can find a way to carry enough loot solo, you simply might not get enough, making this game even less hospitable to solo players.

Less loot for more players doesn’t make sense at all. You get in, split up, return with your two items each and you’re ready to leave at 11am after picking the moon clean. No, there absolutely should be more items when there are more players to carry them. HOWEVER, there should *also* be a value modifier that works in reverse. Baseline for 4 players, increases with less people so that they can reach the same quota with less scrap because it’s worth more.

Yeah I could see how having almost no means to defend yourself with a weapon could be frustrating to some, but even if you did have some means to protect yourself, the game can still find ways to screw people over. I mean, on one run with friends, I didn't even take two steps into the facility when a bracken immediately snapped my neck without me even seeing him or anyone else being the wiser and I think it's that type of randomness in the maps and the creature spawns that adds to the games hilarity and entertainment value imo.

Never played the game but watched it. It seems the most fun part is playing with another "human" being and seeing them fear for their life while also learning about the mechanics and the monsters. The learning is fun. When you learn enough, you put that theory into a test and try to survive (you won't). Your objective isn't to just fetch stuff, but to survive WHILE fetching stuff. While it's true that the game doesn't have a lot, it's still plausible for an Early Access game (also it's "cheap") and being made by like one person. Graphics are adding a lot to the game, because you would be scared more of a few polygons that are screaming at you in 8-bit than a hyper-realistic looking ahh that sounds louder than your mom when you forgor to clean your room. The "bad" aspect of the game makes the game "fun". A game doesn't need to look good to BE good. Only thing that matters is gameplay. The difficulty only changes with the time you spend on the planet and depends on what planet landed. The game forces you to learn quickly and efficiently and punishes you for not doing so. It also allows you to play the game while somebody is AFK, as you don't need their input to continue. EDIT: Also, yeah. I think that playing this game solo, and also other games, doesn't make you feel the full potential and will make you feel empty inside very quickly. Either bully your friends to buy the game or buy the game for them OR join randoms and hope you don't die first.

The game also encourages playing with more people as there's a difficulty scale that increases how many items you get with the more players in your team, so at some point playing by yourself actually becomes impossible because you just won't have enough items to meet quota, especially when you're having to get the items yourself. Zeekerss should have that difficulty scale also effect quota and have it be nerfed with the less number of players in your party.

The problem I have with the game is that if you want to try and get a high quota, the best way to do it is to split up and grab as much loot as you can before stuff starts to spawn, which leads to players missing the "funny" moments because they are apart from each other. Also if you're decent nearly all monsters can be avoided, also removing the funny moments.

In fairness, I think "no greater goal" is a valid complaint, because at some point you'll reach a level where you simply will not be able to make the ever increasing quota. Some ability to reach an "end" would make it feel less like you're just playing to inevitably lose. My only other complaint would be that if the whole crew dies you lose everything stored on the ship, which does feel a little BS. Still, it's a fun game that only needs a little bit of tweaking to be perfect.

i absolutely agree with the greater goal thing, i played this right after playing in phasmophobia and in that game being able to level up and unlock better equippment is a huge motivation and a fun part of the game that makes me feel like im progressing in lethal company once you game over everything just resets back to zero and you gain nothing (except experience) itd be nice if you unlocked more stuff or had levels or maybe how splatoon salmon run does it where you basically get cooler suit colors depending on your experience in the game, or maybe improved equipment, like you can only unlock the pro flashlight after a certain level, or maybe you get a scanner that reaches further, or you can get batteries that will let your equipment last longer, also i feel like you should be able to save your ships layout because if you have a certain position you like to have for the furniture, having to move it all one by one again every single round gets tedious i just dont bother customizing my ship anymore because its all temporary anyway :(

I mean, on the monsters side there is one exception: the forest giant: those bastards are faster and stronger than you, you can't kill them, and they have eagle sight and bats hearing. Sure they can't really get you in the ship and the kill animation gives you an extra second if you were already getting teleported before getting caught, but I feel like they're the one thing with no real counterplay besides avoid it and hope it doesn't spot you from halfway across the map.

I dont think the Thumper is really difficult, they can only accelerate in a forward direction but struggle in changing directions which is why you utilize moving sideways more when trying to fight a thumper with a shovel or just go zig zag and lose line of sight due to the thumper not being able to hear and can only see. I have killed multiple thumpers using this strat coupled with a shovel or a shotgun solo.

I mean the only 2 bad things about games like Lethal Company would be: 1. Overhyping. Cuz recently, I've seen this trend with modern indie horror games that got me into thinking that whenever someone popular plays them, others NEED to play them as well despite the fact that they might not actually enjoy the game themselves, but claim to enjoy them as a way of "acting cool" about 'em. There's also the exploitation side of it, in which people play these type of games as means of making money and only that. 2. Forgetfulness. Once you overhype a game like LC too much, it usually leads to a quicker disinterest towards the very game. I've seen LOTS and LOTS of overhyped games be forgotten about in 2-4 months, which makes me believe that Lethal will be forgotten as well (which is really Phasmophobia in Space if you think about it, XD). I mean how many people even play It Steals, Bloodwash, Among Us or even Phasmophobia anymore?! (I do know that the game's still in early access, but I honestly cannot wait to see it be forgotten about afterwards) And this is just what I think. I don't care if I'll get hate for this, but this is a thing worth pointing out towards everyone here. Opinions are opinions and we gotta respect them.

I think the only actually bad thing about the game are the giants. They offer almost nothing to the game. All the monsters in the bunker are perfect. The eyeless dogs are terrifying and can be hilarious whilst easily countered. The vultures can be scary to new players whilst also adding a level of "realism" for more experienced ones. The earth leviathan is terrifying. But the giants? They are barely scary, they have almost no counterplay, and are incredibly annoying. I think they could be improved if they were modelled to look like trees, and stayed absolutely still and quiet until you came too close, promoting the idea of trying to remember a seemingly random environment.

Flashbangs, jetpacks, avoiding line of sight, etc, are all methods of counterplay. You can just crouch and lower your chance of being spotted by one. With friends, the teleporter can be used to help someone escape death by a giant. As for what they add to the game: first off, there's the lore aspect, and second off, they're a dangerous high priority threat that is different from the other nightime threats, adding important variety. I do think that some of the moons they spawn on are bad for their design, because they incentivize staying out of its line of sight, and good luck doing that on some maps.
