I read the series a few years ago when I was writing my master's thesis (degree in international politics no less). I needed something lighthearted, easy to read and this fit the bill. I laughed so much at the "worldbuilding" and I hated America as well. Maxon, I don't know him. Their daughter was insufferable but I did like Erik too. It was fun to see you go through it because that was me once upon a time lol I just want to let you know that there are even a couple of novellas from this series if you ever feel like revisiting this trauma.

I would have loved it if selection was just hunger games in terms of killing each other in the competition. That'd have been something to see especially the stakes would be higher and somehow if winning was really important for the characters. What if those that lose always go missing or something because they learn and know too much of what is going on inside the palace. 😮

I loved this so much 😂 Back when I read the original trilogy I despised America but I thought the books were so mind numbing that I found them funny (in a ridiculous way). That being said, I HATED Eadlyn so much, I didn’t like The Heir and I’d never read it again, if only for the purposes of reviewing it with a new perspective lol The Crown was meh for me, I only liked Erik and that’s about it. Great video! I stopped after the third book, so it's been nice to learn what happens after that. Also, you should read fallen series by lauren kate or angel series by L.A. weatherly! Both of these are classic 2010s y/a paranormal romances. They were ridiculously fun!!
