I read the infernal devices for the first time || spoiler free reading vlog

I finally picked up the infernal devices by Cassandra Clare and this is defiantly joining my list of one of my top series of all time! I fell in love with these characters and got my heart absolutely shattered. I can't wait to see their stories continued in other series in the shadowhunters universe! 🥰

unrelated to the books, but using instant coffee for iced coffee is the only way i do it. its so easy and so much cheaper to make and it uses less plastic and stuff than if you buy cold brew. i either just make a mug of black coffee and pur it into a big cup that is half filled with ice anf then i fill it the rest of the way with milk. or i can make a jug of black coffee and put it in the fridge to make cold brew and then i use less ice since its already cold. i'm australian and i was shocked when i found out that people dont just use instant coffee for everything. and also that people have to actually buy cold brew, like it honestly just sounded stupid to me same as when i found out americans dont use electric kettles and they put mugs of water in the microwave.

Did you find it necessary to read the first 3 books of the mortal instruments? I haven’t heard that but I bought these 3 books and now I’m hesitant to start them lol. Will I understand without having read the other books ?

I think you can read these first but the first couple mortal instruments give a better introduction into the shadow hunter world and what they are/how they operate 🥰

As someone who started by the Infernal Devices, I can say that you will understand everything perfectly. Maybe you'll miss small references here and there, but nothing major is lost.
