If people were to get the right shafts more often, the scores will go down because the shot group average will tighten up as will average distance. This leads to more accurate gapping between clubs. That leads to overall landing balls where you want to. Spine alignment or purring shafts? It is amazingly useful to do. Lastly, throw in regularly using an electronic distance device and there you go. You are maximized to know how far the ball will go for each club. Next is the course management aspect of golf. ALEX: course management / club selection. Do some videos on this topic. This is where average golfers make some of the biggest mistakes. For example, if you do not hit a club that can put you in the water, in the trees, out of bounds, or in a majorly difficult bunker off the tee, you can save yourself several strokes a round AND still get on greens and score. On my home course, a par 5 has a narrow fairway for 200yds from the tee. I hit 5W every time. That is my most accurate, consistent wood. It opens up after that. I don't end up in the trees from the tee, ever. Course designers always get the suckers out there.

Should be interesting to get some indoor testing with premium balls. It might be that the range balls are spinning too much or it might be the shaft. Worse case you can always drop the loft down a degree to control the spin. Grip choice was right, looked excellent

Not gonna lie, I put dad's senior flex shaft into my RBZ 9.5 degree driver... it is awesome. Swung sub 100mph, probably 85-90 mph.. still ended up total 275m (no idea on carry, as it was during a round) but data was from arccos.

Having built spine finders before for Irons I like the idea of 'Puring'. However once fitted, what happens if you decide to rotate the shaft to a different setting on the adaptor? Surely it's no longer in the determined plane of the puring?

As an insurance broker, i find travel insurance very difficult with regards to golf clubs. I always use one of the insert poles to protect the clubs when flying, i also put clothing around the heads etc in the flight bag. I have flown for years and so far no broken clubs. Golf shoes stolen on way back from South Africa, padlock on the shoe pocket had been opened, and yes, value below the excess. I buy travel insurance for the health cover, but the accidental damage and theft cover is useless. I don’t sell travel insurance, i am a commercial broker, i can assure you, ive had some interesting conversations with travel insurance underwriters, both barrels doesnt work, but makes me feel better.

2:17 Surprised you don't know this already but CPM stands for 'cycles per minute' when you put the assembled shaft/head/grip combo on a stiffness testing machine. The higher the CPM the stiffer the shaft unless there's some kind of special tech that breaks the norms.

Alex, thank you for showing the whole process of replacing a shaft. I've done my own, and several others, clubs for over 30 years. I've also had quite a few shafts pured. I'm a little confused about one aspect of it. When I've had shafts pured, in the paperwork I get it says to align the puring line to the intended target line, not in line with the face of the club. Can your guys explain why that is?

Does puring really make a difference? Moving the driving setting moves the puring line so…
@atamagashock3 ай бұрын
Well if you’re putting your shaft, then obviously you should have it done to the setting you play. You shouldn’t be moving your settings once you get fitted into one. I think many people mess with their settings too much, and half the time have no clue what they are really doing

Proxima actually is a very high end Japanese golf club manufacturer. Known for its woods. Seems like they are now into golf shafts too. I think you have a wrong club head for the shaft for you. You need a Qi10 driver 9 Deg, not Qi10 max 10.5.

That stink was not the graphite. It's the plastic or epoxy matrix the graphite is bonded with.

Man City blue is ALWAYS a bad choice! Do you think Proxima had already pured the shaft, as the decals on it were aligned perfectly? Can't have been a coincidence, surely!

CPM = Cycles Per Minute. In theory the faster the shaft is oscillates, the stiffer the shaft.

Just shows how overated these custom shafts are.New golfers today can learn so much from the old ways of playing a course and different ways to hit the ball.In all the watching on youtube.I have never seen a 5 irion used as a putter just of the green.Tee it high ,hit it low.tee it low hit it high.It seems the old days.you had to shape your shots a lot more.JN used a reg shaft.JD won open with 2 piece ball.I watch BD hitting all sorts of cheap clubs and scoring with them.The old days.if you were not hitting correct.you fixed it.these days its your club or shaft.I have lost count of people getting fitted,and going back to there old clubs.Taylor made standard shafts are very good.If you are not hitting it correct.then its you.Unless you are the likes of rory etc.etc.
