I like the designs but honestly I'm not sure about the idea of Applejack outliving her family. Out of all the mane 6 she's the most attached to her family, and I can't imagine her outliving her siblings, or being away from the farm for that matter, it being her family's legacy.

I've already thought about the physical differences that the types of ponies would have and I think that pegasus could have some fur on their hooves that simulate wings or feathers, and this could also be used to determine whether the pony is the child of a couple of the same species or not, so pegasus would have those "little wings" if both of their parents were also pegasus and most of the family were also, and pegasus from a mixed family or having one of their parents not being a pegasus would not have little wings. I also like the details on the G5's wings and the implication of the development and type of each pegasus, perhaps pegasus could train to develop their wings more and generate these extra feathers or be born with it, so Rainbow Dash would have these longer wings while Fluttershy wouldn't since she probably didn't practice much throughout her life as she preferred to stay on the ground with the animals, which could also affect her hooves and make Fluttershy have more visible hooves from being on the ground for so long while Rainbow Dash's would be almost the same color as her fur, unicorns could also have this type of hoof due to magic and earth ponies would have the visible type of hoof in most cases, there is always an exception after all.

I also think it's fair to make everyone an alicorn cause it's very likely that alicorns have a much longer lasting lifespans compared to other ponies. And like that suggestions that she gonna be alone without any of her friends for who knows how long. And that's really sad to think about.

I'm so happy right now because Applejack is my absolute favorite of G4! I can't imagine her necessarily wanting to be an alicorn, but I think she'd be willing to accept it if the rest of her friends were to do the same and if it would put her in the best possible position to help her friends, her family, and the rest of Equestria.

G3 was my introduction to MLP! I will never forget being 5 years old, sitting in my parents bedroom when my older sister walked in with like four shopping bags filled with a bunch of MLP dolls for me. We unboxed them all together and my absolute favorite was Starcatcher, she even came with a movie that I watched religiously! So yeah the G3 respect is strong in this house.

I'm with you on the gen 3 designs supremacy! (even though I've become quite a fan of the Gen 1 baby ponies toys, they're really cute.) Also hope I'm not going to make you too jealous but I actually had that Star Flight pony as a kid! She was my favorite of all my ponies and yes, her color scheme is awesome! Like them becoming the guardians/pillars of friendship or something would've been kinda cool. Maybe they get the alicorn body/build but not the horn and wing combo? Just a thought.

I think all of them becoming Princesses/Pegasi is ultimately not only good for their friendship, but for their world as a whole. Because like... I feel like there were whole episodes about how difficult but important both Celestia & Luna's jobs were, and how it was exhausting but also there would be major consequences if they failed them but then also... they just quit? And left just Twilight to take over for both of them? Like Cadence exists, but she's ruling a whole different kingdom, and Flurryheart is a baby and we don't even know what she'll end up doing. If all of them became rulers or at least powerful figures, they could take care of everything much more efficiently.

I loved AppleJack. She holds near and dear to my heart, especially after my uncle passed away in 2016, I was very close to him, and his favorite Pony was Apple Jack. So Apple Jack is a character close to my heart because of it! Plus I think she was a very good character and loved her episodes so seeing her not as popular always made me sad.

Even though I'm not a hardcore fan of MLP(introduced during Gen 3), I definitely love how fun all the characters look. Still remember having a Gen 3.5 Cheerilee figurine that came with a Happy Meal and a prior Gen 3 Kimono figure back in elementary school. Playing with their hair was always great. And I assume the fans had at least one or two coloring books or other merch at some point in time. Fun times. Amazing video!

Not sure what gen it was but the first MLP content I ever saw was the My Little Pony Movie (1) that had the three human witches and the Smooze. It was a fever dream that I used to watch on loop in my grandparents basement and even though I’ve seen all of gen 4 and its most of what I grew up with that movie is still my favorite. I haven’t seen it in years so I’m not claiming it’s good but I’m claiming that it’s something that I need someone else to watch because it still doesn’t feel real

I love this Applejack redesign, and I also think them all being Alicorns at the end would have been better. However, G5 couldn't have come about the same way if poor Twilight hadn't been left alone to hold up society - with her support system still in place the factions would never have split apart again.

It always seems kinda strange. When twilight became an alicorn. And bye the end of the show. It contradicts what they said. About twilight not out growing her friends. Turning the other main 5 into alicorns could have fixed that issue.

I really loved this redesigns but I just wished you had maintained her fringe in her normal form. She could have grown it out throughout the years and that's why she doesn't have them in her alicorn form. It could also allude to the fact that she has literally grown and shed her more juvenile characteristics to become even more mature than she was, because the fringe gives her a younger look.

I'm completely down with the idea of the main six being alicorns cause it can be a dynamic like Celestia and Luna. Celestia was the main leader but Luna was still there and Luna still helped. Also what they can do is divide Equestria with like the rulers, like Applejack can take Appaloosa or Rainbow Dash can take Cloud field, Rarity can take Canterlot, Pinkie Pie can take Ponyville and so on. So I think it's a great idea to make the main six alicorns and it can still be understandable under the lore. (Idk if I made myself understandable)

I think the real 'problem' with Applejack, at least in G4 was that she started off the show with basically everything she needed and wanted. I think giving her an actual long term goal (whether internal or external) could really help her feel as developed as the other five.

I'm the eldest of three. I have a brother and a sister, and we lived on a farm until I was thirteen. My parents weren't dead, but they were very...absent, much of my childhood, so I was a very "mature and responsible" child - aka, I did most of the chores and looking after my siblings. I've always resonated a LOT with Applejack, I had no idea there was an "Applejack Problem." She's definitely my favorite.

I agree that if Gen 5 had been a reboot of Gen 4, Applejack would've suffered for not being a cowgirl. Fun Fact: The Mane 6 haven't the same body type was a limitation of Flash at the time. Lauren Faust originally wanted the inviduals to have different body types, including Applejack being more Big Mac-like, Pinkie Pie being more childish in design, Rainbow Dash being more feral, and the Unicorns having cloven hooves and lion-like tails. I also disagree that Hitch is Gen 5's Applejack. This is because Gen 5 is the first Generation to share continuity with a previous generation. I can see the similarities. But the Gen 5 Mane 6 are NOT just reinterpretations of the Gen 4 Mane 6. They are their own characters. There are similarities, but If you pay attention, there are significant differences too. I would totally hire you to be a artist for Gen 6 if I had any say.
