Imma reiterate what I said on the last video. These designs are cool, but they wouldn’t pass as Eeveelutions. And when I say they’re cool, they’re really cool. They all have this over-the-top, funky element that makes them unique. And that’s the problem. Eeveelutions get their charm from their simplicity. They represent their type and nothing more. I think where you went wrong the most is seeing something you like from another Pokémon/inspiration and slapping it on. You did this for all four of them. -The hand tail on your Umbreon fits well with the design and really balances out the cute aspect, but no Eeveelution would be caught dead with a tail like that. -Same deal with Espeon. The rings tie together with the rest of the design, but is a little much for an Eeveelution. It does have a mythical Pokémon vibe, which I think you pointed out. This especially annoys me because Espeon is associated with the sun, not whatever Hoopa is. -I really like Leafeon, but the tail just throws me off. That may just be my opinion, though. -The witch design is a really cool idea, but looks too much like a Dark-Type. Fairy/Dark would be a perfect type combination for your Sylveon. Another thing. I noticed you hated on some of the designs because they didn’t fit the stereotype for their type. Not all Dark-Types have to be scruffy and emo. I think Umbreon’s sleek look adds to its appeal and the yellow bands do a good job at embodying the moon. If you find my other comment, you’ll see that there are a lot of Dark-Types with yellow on them. Well, there’s my rant for the day. I just wanna emphasize that I do really like the designs, I just don’t think they’d pass as actual Eeveelutions. Hope y’all have a good day! WOO! One more thing. I wanted to point out that Espeon is based on the Nekomata, that’s why it has the forked tail. Same with Espurr and Meowstic.

I feel like my biggest advice for him is to look more into actual real world inspirations behind Pokemon instead of leaning too hard into already established Pokemon designs. I can understand him looking at Caterpie and Spewpa when designing a "route 1" bug, for instance, but Eevees are their own archetype. I feel like a better move would have been to do more research into actual feline, vulpine, and canine animals. That being said, I do have some disagreements with you though. Not all of his designs feel over-designed (I personally think his Flareon is pretty great. Maybe the black body was too much but I prefer the fire actually looking like fire instead of just puffier Eevee fur) and not all Eevee evolutions feel like they have a very simple design. Hell, part of why I don't like Sylveon is because I think it is a bit over-designed. Am I the only one grossed out by the tentacle ribbons? Maybe, but I'll die on this hill lmao

Listening to his reasonings makes me believe that he never understood the motives behind each eeveelution design. Like Espeon is inspired by a nekomata, which is a Japanese yokai. Umbreon is known as the moonlight pokemon so yes it has a moon theme in its design which contrasts beautiful with the red eyes and black body. original Leafeon design is one of my top favorite. obv green leaves and the more yellowing colour that reminds me a bit of autumn i beautiful and seeing how he butchered the redisign just couldn't find any actual faults in the original makes me think of "If it ain't broke why fix it?" He's lit just copy pasting ideas from other pokemon or fanarts for the redesins which in my opinion makes them look like Frankenstine's monster. Aside from Sylveon none of the others feel like actually having a theme. and redesign Sylveon doesn't feel like a fairy type. Hatterne wasn't pure fairy either. The redisign could work as seperate pokemon, but not eeveelution redesign. Espeon even looks more like a magical girl side kick which fits more in fairy type than the Sylveon redisign

Umbreon was originally a poison type and had purple rings in the G/S beta demo. That's my explanation for Umbreon. Espeon was originally yellow too.

Always think was because they were the introduction of the mechanic of evolving in certain times in the day, Espeon with the small red gem to represent the sun and Umbreon with the yellow rings to represent the moon, but can be quite wrong tho, because this was just how I interpreted their designs as a kid

Something that bothers me whenever people say: "Umbreon doesn't feel like a Dark-Type Pokémon because it doesn't have certain [insert characteristics, features, attributes here.]" Is because Umbreon was one of the FIRST Dark-Type Pokémon ever made - before it was inevitably switched from being a Poison-Type. Of course a Pokémon that's the very first of its kind won't have design elements established years later after being created. I wish this is something more people would keep in mind! So, whenever certain people attempt to redesign a Pokémon ( This isn't just limited to Eevee ) they'll be focused and dead set on making something "Cool and over designed." That it not only ends up looking vastly different from the original idea? It honestly looks like someone's original furry character. Not a Pokémon. Umbreon really is the best example of: "Less is more" - it's cute, sleek, cool, and can appeal to multiple people. Not just one group. That's what a majority of original Dark-Type Pokémon are like also! There's one or two aspects to their design that aren't over complicated. Just because a Pokémon's design may not initially scream "I'm [insert type here]!" Doesn't make it bad. 👍

Back in generation 2 Beta designs of Crystal gold and silver Umbreon was supposed to be a poison type because back in its dex entries it talked about secreting poisons or something like that coming off its fur. but back then it was scrapped because of them trying to add a poison stone in the game. they just decided that it was the best idea and went with the Espeon evolving mechanics but at night and decided to give Umbreon the title of its dex entry the Moonlight Pokemon because of Origins that is based around the Moon rabbit and how it's rings represents the glowing of the Moon. But before Umbreon was ever created as a dark type Pokemon, Umbreon was supposed to be weak to Espeon because of the poison typing if Umbreon was a poison type but they decided that Umbreon should be stronger than Espeon.

I really agree, the dude’s designs are good, but just aren’t as good as the originals. Pokemon get their charm from their simplicity, like the first comment said. Adding too much would not make them great as much. Yes they don’t look like others, but that’s the point- Like in humanity, for example, no one is the same. It’s not like he did something bad obviously it’s just that now i just realized it’s weird that he wanted to make them almost the same with designs. For Umbreon: I really like that it doesn’t look mean and evil like pther dark types. It’s also the moonlight pokemon so it makes sense for it to have those yellow rings. It’s not supposed to just be a dark mean pokemon. It’s supposed to be the light in the night. NOT TO MENTION it evolves with happiness, of course it’s not gonna be mean. It’s calm and collected while still being cool. A lot of gen 2 dark types are smooth rather than fluffy. The colors are also boring, there is not contrast. Espeon: your espeon is top white. It looks more like a fairy type because of it. While you might think it works for Mewtwo to be mostly white, the ”white” on Mewtwo has a very clear purple undertone. I also don’t like how you again, stripped the eeveelution of its personality. As a counterpart to Umbreon, I think it should have kept the calm and collected personality. That personality is also something you will see in a lot of psychic type pokemon. A calm personality screams psychic type. Leafeon: I like that you brought more green into the design, but the design feels too much like the bulbasaur line. I’m not a huge fan of how you stripped it of the leaf motif as a whole. Sylveon: this just feels like a psychic or dark type. If you look at Hatterene, you can see it has very light colors and a white body. Most fairy types are supposed to be pure and bright. Dark colors fit grimmsnarll because of the very clear inspiration to a type of ”fairy” it os based on. It doesn’t fit with a witch theme because witches aren’t fairies. When redesigning stuff I would highly suggest you look up the original inspiration and just research the pokemon as a whole before going at it.

I don’t really see a problem. He still redesigned them, but he went off preference. I personally think all the designs match their part (besides sylveon.. he didn’t do it justice). If you ask me, I don’t really think he made them look less like their actual types. If I were to look at his redesigned leafon I’d immediately think of grass and outdoors. Or now let’s switch to umbreon, dark and scary or in more commonly used terms emo and depressed (that’s a joke please don’t come at me). A few of the redesigns are, well, questionable to say the least. But I don’t think it makes them any less of an actual redesign than someone who were to do research on the Pokémon themself.

Sorry, but I just...don't get any of the design choices. Why is Espeon the one with the rings, why does Leafeon get Ivysaur's bulb, what's with the hand tail for Umbreon and how did Sylveon turn into a witch for next Halloween. Same thing goes for the first part; Flareon getting cooked and removing the floof, Glaceon is just Alolan Vulpix + Eevee and Vaporeon's goofy hat. Jolteon is decent (even if the spiky fur is gone to get a tail), but that's one out of 8 I don't flat out dislike.

I think the hand tail should be a bit smaller, then it could work. Although I have to say that feels like it fits the Ghost type more. I do like the bangs over the eyes, it is very cute; maybe you were thinking of Deino? I like how original Umbreon stands out among the Dark-types. It's very simple and I like the glowing yellow rings (what's wrong with yellow?). Umbreon was a Dark type when it was still a "nocturnal" type (only in GSC), and it has a moon theme. The rings were put on there I think to reference the blue-ringed octopus which is venomous, and Umbreon was originally Poison. I think it translates well to the Dark-type. I like Espeon, but your design is very adorable. I love the closed eyes. Leafeon... meh... not digging the bulb tail, I'm sorry! The witch aesthetic doesn't really work for a pure Fairy IMO. It actually looks like it could be Dark/Fairy. Pretty cool and cute, but maybe for a different Pokemon. I agree that original Sylveon is an excellent design.

Your design ideas are so fun and I love the way you render!! I'm still desperately wishing your Flareon was real omg. and your Espeon is SO cute!! I'm obsessed with it as a design concept but I don't think it looks particularly like a psychic type, and it gives me more the vibes of a legendary or mascot-character than a fairly common Pokemon species among trainers. My biggest advice if you do more videos like these would be to look more into the designs you're critiquing before you critique them! Umbreon's rings symbolize the moons phases and they glow in the moonlight, something highlighted in the anime and certain 3d models; it itself may have even been inspired by the "Tezcatlipoca", an Aztec mythological being who is the embodiment of the night and is depicted with glowing yellow jaguar spots! Meanwhile Espeon's tail is split at the end to be reminiscent of "Nekomata" which are magical cat spirits in Japan which have split tails and psychic abilities. In the fan Skitty design you showed, the tail-hand may be inspired by the "Ahuizotl", another legendary creature from Aztec mythology which is described as a "small dog with waterproof fur with hands on both of its forearms and at the end of its tail" (which was also used as design inspiration for the darkness centurion, Tenebrae, from Tales of Symphonia!) (Most) Pokemon are designed with intent, and many traits that you might discard as "strange/unimportant" often have reason for being the way they are if you look into them and I feel the intent behind each design is as important as the design itself in a franchise like this! : D

I don’t really like how you make assumptions on espeon like that. Espeon is based on hairless cats I think (explaining it’s sleekness), as well as being based on a nekomata. When a cat transforms into a nekomata, it’s tail splits in two. It also has magic powers. Add: Sylveon imo is a bit overdesigned, sticking out from the rest of the evolutions. You can see most pokemon having simple features and shapes, it’s details defining them from their pre-evolutions and evolutions. So I think sylveon’s butterflies and ribbons sort of get in the way. I also noticed that your redesigned leafeon has hair, or what looks to be hair. Maybe instead it could be a leaf or flower, as leafeon regenerates it’s power by sunbathing. Also to note from evolutions 1, vaporeon can literally turn into water. Look up vaporeon’s pokedex, I am not kidding. I just have a feeling that maybe if it was real the pokedex would need to be changed because of it’s more complex (sort of?) design.

It just doesn't really look right to me 'cause, well, the other eeveelutions don't have too many odd details and have simple, cute designs. The tail-hand could be like Grimsnarl and its hair-muscles. I guess what I'm tryna say is it looks too much like a third arm or a butt-hand and not really like a tail, and seems odd for the pokemon universe.

While I think, these are fantastic redesigns (they all look very good), the one I dislike has to be espeon, I feel like it just took slyveon's colors which makes it look more like a fairy type, in my opinion, the hoops are cool and the gem looks really nice compared to the previously solid red color, but I feel like the purple-pink colors on espeon are what made it a standard psychic type (also the split tail is from Nekomata, a yokai cat with a forked tail which is a part of Japanese folklore, which in my opinion is very cool). Reading these comments are very interesting because a lot of them seem to prefer the original designs due to simplicity. I think that I might be in the minority that feels that the Eeveelutions should be pleasantly overdesigned because they're the purest form of their type, while everyone else seems to love how simple the originals were. Don't look at Vaporeon or Sylveon, I promise they're all very simple. Also, something I really wish you did when you made these redesigns was learn about what they were based on and inspired by in the first place so you can make a proper redesign that doesn't just completely overwrite the original concept. There's a reason Espeon looks the way it does... even if I don't like it.

OG Umbreon and Espeon were meant to capture a theme around the concept of night and day, which is probably where Umbreon's yellow rings come in. They're the light bouncing off the moon, hence why it glows in the dark. Your design is very cool, the hand-tail does end up fitting the "Dark as Evil type" as it implies your Umbreon redesign would be the type to be up mischief, pickpocketing with its tail and being able to easily lash out with a Sucker Punch or slash at anyone that bothers it. Not sure if you were aware of this detail when you first made this design but in Japan people who cover their eyes are usually seen as very shady people, a perfect detail for "Dark as Evil type"! As an Eeveelution... I think this one could work, just a shame it ditches the "Sunlight/Moonlight" theme going on with Espeon. Speaking of Espeon, this redesign is an odd one for me. I actually quite like OG Espeon, even if it doesn't look very "sunny" as it leans more towards the nekomata motif. At first I was not fond of your redesign but the more I thought about it the more I liked it as an Eeveelution concept. But not as an Espeon redesign. Plenty of Psychic types are also associated with space or are straight-up aliens, like Beheeyem, Deoxys and Necrozma, and I feel this Eeveelution could fit the alien motif due to ditching its ears for odd, fleshy appendages and its rings floating around its tail giving the impression of rings around planets like Saturn, even its tail tip could be seen as a star. This is a really cool Eeveelution!... But is it really Espeon anymore? I guess the same could be asked of the previous redesign, these two really do make for good "alternate universe" or standalone Eeveelutions. Hmm... Huh. A flower bud is a bit awkward as a tail for me, it ends up looking more like a growth coming out of its butt. I would have tried an iteration with a flowering bush for a tail instead but that's just my preferences talking. While I think the earthy beige and brown worked well for OG Leafeon in giving it a sense of it being "of the earth" this Leafeon redesign being green all over combined with the scruff around its feet gives it the impression that its fur is actually grass which really sells the impression of it being photosynthetic and nails that Grass typing. Other than the odd tail and that its eyes could have been a different color, like the pink of its flower, I liked the direction this one was going but it felt an iteration shy of being top tier on my list. Sylveon's redesign is also another one where I feel it makes for a great standalone Eeveelution but no longer feels like Sylveon. The "Sylv" in "Sylveon" actually relates to forests, the home of fairies, so using a witch motif causes it to no longer fit the archetypal fairy that the original Sylveon was going for, and while a witch Pokemon would fit well as a Fairy type witches are usually depicted living either secretly among people within civilization or in swamps rather than having a strong connection to forests. As it stands, this design makes for a cool "Alternate universe what-if" for a Fairy type Eeveelution.

Ok I don't like the umbreon redesign. Its a dark type, not ghost or ghost dark, which is half why the hand tail doesn't work. It's also just very bland and doesn't feel like an eeveelution. For espeon it was WAY better but I didn't really like the ears. Also it was very slim. For leafeon, I think it should have been more "leafy," and the tails didn't work for either. The lizard tail looked out of place and the flower tail looked way to much like ivysaur. For sylveon, the witch design was way too far off from the fairy type, and the second design was way too pink. These are just my opinions on the redesigns and if you made it this far, thanks for hearing me out and I'd like to hear your opinion.

Umbreon looks amazing, even tho the mane is a bit too much imo Espeon turned into a Hoopa-Sylveon... also, it looks too fairy-y. Maybe the Sylveon you designed would be better as an Espeon, and the Espeon as a Sylveon. For Leafeon, uhh... looks like a fox copy of Bulbasaur's evolution line lmao. I respect your opinions and like your redesigns (for the most part it), but I'm going to have the very much respectfully disagree with them because 1. You're basing their recreations on the (somewhat boring) characteristics / stereotypes of the type they are. 2. You're only basing these redesigns ONLY on their type and not their title also (i.e. Espeon being known as the sun Pokemon) 3. Some of your redesigns look like inmate them into a different type / gave them a Duo type (imo). 4. Sometimes the best/most beautiful designs or the most simplest to give it a modest/graceful look to it. (Hence why one of the reasons why I love Espeon and it's my most favorite Pokemon ever lol) But in conclusion I still respect your redesigns and opinions even if I don't agree with them, and it still doesn't change the fact that they look good even though I like most of the originals more. Okay before roasting a pokemon design RESEARCH the pokemon you are roasting to understand why the creator made it like this instead of insulting their hard work for example Umbreon was originally a poison type so the design looks like that and it and Espeon are yin yang pair so if you redesign a one of the pair make it cohesive with the one you didn't do or make both cohesive. the rings on umbreon DO represent the moon, and i dont know whats more dark type-y than that. all in all in the whole 2 videos it feels like you just got the idea to redesign the eeveelutions, which turned out super cool, but then bent over backwards to find flaws on the original designs (except for sylveon, because it is a very mainstream masteful design and it would be a bad idea to hate on it i guess?) it felt very non-genuine to me. but idk that being said leafeon is definetly my favourite redesign youve done, tied with jolteon which also happen to be my favourite designs from the original bunch. your leafeon definetly captures a grass eevee much better, and all the designs turned super dynamic and pleasing although a little over the top.

Just to answer your question, yes umbreons yellow is supposed to represent the moon, the oval on its head works as a flashlight as well as the way to evolve it is to level it up with high friendship during the night, which might be why it’s more sleek and not as beastly as other dark types, I said this in the last video, I do really love your designs for them all, and while I don’t dislike any of the original designs, yours are still really well executed and thought out. I appreciate that you are being respectful about the fact that they aren’t bad designs, this is just what you’d personally do with them. Mad respect!

Because without the inspiration you're making a completely different concept, not a redesign in my eyes. I love The Umbreon idea but I feel like that would work as a completely different Pokemon! i love the espeon redesign. it looks so ethereal and kind of celestial, which i think is often associated with psychic types leafeon is super cute too!! i love the bulb! i love the original leafeon but i would be just as happy to use your design. the witch's broom tail of sylveon is sooo cute, but i agree that it would make a better dark (or maybe ghost!) eeveelution, and the hat is a bit too similar to mismagius - personally i think i would change it to a wispy hair curl or try a different hat design these comments are crazy lol, for the most part i also prefer the original designs because they are so iconic - but yall really need to chill! redesigning some of the most iconic characters of a huge franchise is a big undertaking, and i dont see any problem with them critiquing the original designs.

i personally like designs, that break up the standard silhoutte of the typical eevelution. The lean quadruped body, the dropshaped head and nose and the long ears, the tail usually ends up being THE accessory that can be fiddled with the most . Og Leafeon and Glaceon bore me to no end because they literally are nothing else than the basic template with some (kinda lame) accessory thrown onto them. Umbreon and Espeon are Designs that have even less details to them, but somehow, they work that much better with what they have. Espeon's split tail is a reference to the nekomata, a catspirit from japanese folklore. They are kinda more iconic, than Leafeon and Glaceon. I do also like the og design of Jolteon, because it has no tail and the spiky fur keeps the ears from standing out so much like with all the other types except Vaporeon. Your Jolteon redesign is kinda... the basic template with a fancy tail and little else.

Umbreons name is derived from the word 'umbra' which is the darkest part of a shadow, most commonly associated with a solar eclipse. The yellow rings are likely supposed to symbolise the small ring of sun during a lunar eclipse.

I love the whimsy of these designs, though I think the first set was more successful as they were simpler and more in line with the spirit of simplicity that eeveelutions evoke. These are all really fun, but they're a bit overly complicated, especially sylveon. Sylveon looks really epic, don't get me wrong... it's just too intricate for an eeveelution. Leafeon was my favorite from this batch!

I absolutely LOVE the umbreon, the fluff gives it so much more character and the claw is soooooo cool. Maybe a tiny bit of colour like the yellow eyes in your other design would be cool, but i love it so much! The rings espeon has are really cool and i feel like the gem and the addition of white fits in really well, however i do think it would have looked better with purple instead of pink because purple really gives ‘psycic pokemom’ vibes haha Leafeon is amazing! I love the ivysaur inspo for the tail and the addition of more green. I love this one a lot and i DEFINETELY prefer it over leafeon :) The design of sylveon is really cool and i think it’s an amazing pokemon design, but my issue with it is that it feels more like a dark/fairy pokemon instead of just fairy. I love the witch design and the hat, but i feel like the dark colours don’t fit that well with the happy cute sylveon/eeveelution thing. mmmm video number 2 lets see if this one’s better than the last… umbreon. Uh, you said you prefer not to have yellow on a dark type. That’s a preference of yours though. An opinion. That’s the first time I’ve heard that statement… I don’t think anyone else ever cared for the yellow on Umbreon. Especially not me. In fact I think it fits with the theme Umbreon si mostly going for, the moon. In The moon is sometimes represented with yellow so I like how the design uses that. I don’t have any thing against the redesign (save for the fact it doesn’t represent the moon one bit, Umbreon is supposed to be a Pokémon that represents the moon and it’s redesign literally has nothing to point to that) but like most of your redesigns it’s not an Eeveelution. Espeon. Espeon is the only, and I Emma only redesign of yours I like. I mean it looks mor elige a fairy type but whatever. I like how it looks. Original Espeon is too basic and I like how you redesigned her. With the rings on the tail it gives it more of a sun vibe than original Espeon. This is the only redesign I enjoy. What the fuck did you do to leafeon??? God the tail looks atrocious. Like a Bulbasaur got slapped into this man’s ass. The colors look like barf. I hate this one so much please burn it. From a purely visual design standpoint they are very fun and look awesome. You definitely fixed some issues I've had with a couple of the canon design choices, mainly Vapreons ruff and head dorsal fin.(Like just why?) I feel like they lack some more cohesive familiarity though, if that makes sense. Some of them it clearly showed that you had more fun with than others, the juxtapose between the simplicity of some of these designs and the detail in others make a couple of these feel like they're their own line of pokemon(Espeon, Vaporeon) and others like you settled.(Umbreon, Jolteon) There were a couple designs I think you nailed the assignment on the head, Flareon, amazing balance of detail and simplicity that makes it feel like the fire evolution we deserved. 🙏 Others though, you just unfortunately missed the mark in my opinion. I love your Sylveon and Espeon looks fantastic but i feel like you didn't take into consideration any of the original inspiration or lore and reflect that in these iterations, which is why I started this comment with "From a purely visual design standpoint." I do hope to see you maybe revisit this in the future and redesign these to be a little more close inspired from lore and the key design points that the canon eeveelutions have. Except for Flareon, don't you dare touch Flareon you did perfect. Personally Jolteon is my favorite canon eeveelution and it really saddened me that you actually got rid of it's spikey floofy bits and corgi butt,. Just like with your Leafeon; I don't think all eeveelutions need long tails and Jolteons docked/short tail look was one of my favorite feature that set it apart from the other eeveelutions. The fact that Jolteon is a cool pokemon that hides it's sweet side behind a prickly demeanor is reflected by the design choices of lacking a tail to convey emotions like wagging when happy and soft fluffy fur that can bristle up into needle if it doesn't want to be touched. I did, however, like the blue in place of the purple but the lack of expression you gave it made it feel unfriendly which made me feel like you settled with a design you could have really made great if you had messed with it some more. Maybe you could have played up the short, sharp, fluffy features. That's neither here nor there though, they all ready do look good and i would catch them all. 🔥

I'm gonna put my thoughts here, instead of splitting my concrit between two videos. The designs on their own are alright - some are especially good, like Flareon and Umbreon for example, but as Pokemon (or even Eeveelutions), they just don't stand up. Fairr warning, I may be saying the same thing that others already have, so I apologise in advance XD I'm not doing this in order of what you drew, but I am gonna be loosely putting my thoughts in 'generation' order. Vaporeon is a very regal pokemon, which is why it has that frill in it's design and similar has been shown through Primarina, but also back then the designs were much more simplistic than some of the modern day pokemon designs. ... Flareon, by boy, you will always bee done dirty. Your design for Flareon was cool, don't get me wrong, but I believe they were going for a fluffy heater vibe with it which is why it's so floofy. Additionally, it doesn't HAVE a mustard and tomato sauce colouration anymore, it's colours have since been muted to the colouration you showed in your video. Also, the orangey red and yellow gives a warm, gentle fire look that makes it incredibly cosy. Tbh, Jolteon being w/o a tail is very strange, but I believe they were going for a more spikey look with it to give it thee shape language of sharp bolts of static or electricity. Though if it did have an electric tail it could turn on and off would be fun AF, and I do wish it did have that HOWEVER, the colouration issues you had can be answered very simply - complimentary colours. Purple is across the colour wheel from yellow, which makes those colours often a good match for one another. Additionally, the white collar it has could easily be explained away as a reference to 'white hot energy', as often times lighting and their flashes are white. Espeon just gives me Digimon/Madoka love child energy, and just ignores the Pokemon's influences. Espeon is based off of Nekomata (hense the forked tail), and its name is literally ESP eon. ESP being 'Extra sensory powers' (I think?) and purple is commonly a colour associated with psychic energy. Umbreon is based off Jackels, he see its more sleep design, and I think is loosely inspired my the Egyptian god Anubis (or at the very least, gives off Anubis vibes IMO), which is where the yellow rings come into play. Additionally, like another commenter has already said, it was one of the first dark types and was even originally going to be a poison type - something that pervades to this day with it being able to secrete poison/venom. For Leafeon, using the argument that 'grass types are green' is kind of a coppout answer, as not all grass types are majority green. I don't really haave many thoughts on this one, other than that you kind of ignored its namesake - the leaves. Leaves come in aa majority of colours, and the yellowy cream body colour helps to not make it so overwhelmingly GREEN. Glaceon looks very 'glacial' in its original design, like ice, and the diamonds add a very crystal-like the ming to it as well. Additionally, the formation on its head is very hat-like ANDD makes it look like its got one off those fuzzy hats with the long side flaps on it. Additionally the cool blues mixed with the darker ones add to the harcore ice themeing and allude to darker ice formations. Though, I do have to say your Glaceon design is probably my favourite just cuz is lil and fuzzy - it just doesn't align with its name aand themeings well enough. And then finally it's obvious that you just redesigned Sylveon because you redesigned the rest. And as nice as the witchy design is, it takes away from the fey aspects of its name and the cutesy, affectionate look it has itself that references its very evolutionary process. Dressing up your 'pets', putting them in ribbons, is very often a show of love and affection for your beloved pet and is shown of beautifully in Sylveon design - and the fact they add to this further by having them be feelers it can use to sense your emotions is a phenomenal attention to detail. If I'm being honest, my BIGGEST issue with your redesigns is that you use other Pokémon outside of their evolutionary track as reference for what to do, instead of looking into their specific influences and using that instead to help your redesigns. By using the 'aesthetic' of their specific typing and gaining inspiration from completely separate pokemon, you remove the 'eevee' aspect of them almost and make them seem more like separate pokemon lines or even designs more fitting for other franchises. They havee the designs they have for a reason, and by not looking into them you take away from the themes of them. Well, word vomit over lol - again, they ARE good designs, it's just they'd be better suited as their own thing or in different series'.

Anyways let ne just talk about ur designs but also a problem i have is u compring them with other pokemon and that u recreatw in the other video almost the same pokemon, First off al - Umbreon, i love the fluff and tail but again an eeveelution is supposed to be not too detailed, i mean this would never become an eeveelution since its way too detailed and thw fluff doesnt really fit it too, umbreon imo feels to me as a dark pokemon , it has the light rings and hes almost fully black with red eyes. - Espeon, ur pokemon is very cute but definitely feels like a fairy pokwmon,Espeon is a psychic, thats why its logical that it as a red sort of diamond on her head, shes also supposed to repersent the sun just like umbreon the moon or something like that, so espeon s tail fits the astrology imo.
