I have a suggestion about storing small piece (like rice or ground beef), soups, and sauces. Get gallon size freezer bags. Label content and date. Spoon rice, grains, small pasta, oatmeal, or ground meats in bag, going about half-3/4 full. Flatten as much as possible, squeezing out air. Seal, freeze flat. Soups and sauces (like leftover jarred sauce): place bag in two-cup measuring cup and fold over to form cuff (like pastry bag fold). Fill bag with contents till up to cup lip. Take out of cup, lay on flat or inclined surface, and squeeze till contents reaches bag opening. Seal bag and freeze flat. By storing these flat, in thin layers, it’s easy to break off whatever you need, and heat.

Just found your channel and completely agree about the book-I don’t need to return it because I got it on Libby through my library. I kinda mix batch cooking which just wears this old lady out and what I call madeovers. So I pick a protein for the week (a roast, chicken, ground beef, etc). First night it is the main dish plus a veg. Then I think of ways to make it over-hash,casserole, soup, etc. And once a week I have a meal with fish. I haven’t seen anyone actually do meal planning this way, but it works well for my family and they don’t gripe about leftovers (if the teenager leaves anything 😂)

Believe me really easy, fast daily nutritious food helps. In Greece the euros is high but the food has got higher since Sept 2023 esp. They don't freeze as much. They consider cooking every day. Weird but food is still a headache. 😢😢

It all looks good Sara (OK, except the broccoli. LOL) Since I live alone I cook big batches and freeze single servings. If I cook a large batch of spaghetti I can put 10 or 12 small containers in the freezer. I have multiple recipes I use to keep the freezer stocked. Good video!

Please, take a good care of your body. I see you've gained weight. Or is it just me? It doesn't matter how hard we try to save money. It's not worth it, if we don't take care of our health. Health is expensive and super important. 🙏
