Brad I've really been wanting to point out that "you you you" has been a staple adlib in hip hop since like the 90's, and its more meant to just be a sound than a word. Most people associate it with Kendrick because Blacker the Berry is definitely the most popular song to use it.

Something about Logic just seems so inauthentic and fake. Like he tries to come off as this guy that’s comfortable in his own skin but then he desperately wants to be someone like Kendrick or J. Cole who is mainstream and respected while he’s put into the “niche nerd rap” corner. He claims he doesn’t care about other people’s opinions but desperately craves the approval of an internet reviewer like Fantano. It comes off as painfully fake. Reminds me of that saying “confidence is quiet, insecurity is loud.” And Logic is loud af.

I'll never understand stans who attack people on Twitch or KZbin for not enjoying a thing they like, implying that their status as a content creator means they need to be impartial. They don't. They're people, and can come into an album, or a movie, or a video game expecting to have a bad time. Truly impartial, objective reviews of any medium don't and can't exist, and nobody can possibly come into something completely blind without prejudice.
@TyTheTurtle
@TyTheTurtle Жыл бұрын
It's fine to have bias and not be completely impartial, but it's obvious Brad was just going to nitpick the songs and complain about details that aren't really that big of a deal. Makes for a really uninteresting video when he's just moping about it and can't even be bothered to think of anything decent to comment on 🤷‍♂️

5:26 it is very annoying when somebody for whatever reason assumes that every music reviewer must completely drain all bias or expectations (negative or positive) for an album. These type of comments pop up here, in fantano and shawn cees reviews/streams. Are they supposed to be robots to properly give their opinion on an album?
@TyTheTurtle
@TyTheTurtle Жыл бұрын
I think it's less that the reviewer needs to be a robot, but like with Brad and College Park it was VERY obvious that he just wasnt going to like it even if the songs were good. He spent a majority of the video moping and complaining as much as he possibly could which to most viewers just looks like hating the album just to hate it, but also makes for an unenjoyable video that people aren't gonna want to come back to if its just him looking dead for 30 minutes.

@@TayTayMakesBeats Yeah exactly my thing. Love lots of drum styles but people act like boom bap type drums and breaks are a thing of the past. I ain't a oldhead, the trap beats go, but I like diversity. I just wish Logic would stop tryna be Kendrick MAAd city era, you cant win like that. We already got that, we wanna hear your ideas. Other than that instrumentals great, skits funny and Logic's presence was decent to great. The skits funny af also

I feel this reaction. I got sober a couple years ago and I don't want to hear no preachy feel good bullshit when I'm trying to stay in my feels. It comes off as annoying and yeah don't tell me how to feel logic, k thx.

Has Brad ever done a video on no pressure? I feel like that was honestly the last good album he dropped, almost every track is pretty decent - good and some are just really good imo. It’s odd cause even haters were callin the album good and a great comeback album, and then he “retired” just to comeback like a month later.. I was a big logic fan before but now not so much, I wonder if brad can react to no pressure since that album imo was good

Don't really care about this guy's music after the fakeout of a retirement. Lost all integrity then. Was and am huge fan of work before then though, but will never listen to anything after the fakeout.

@@jeremyusreevu237 Maybe it is, I just have a bad taste in my mouth that prevents me from checking it out after Logic basically lying to his fans with it quite literally being the marketing for No Pressure and expect the Ratpack to just be okay with his comeback. Makes him look like a fraud with no integrity and the recent stories about the s***cide song being just for profit certainly doesnt help that.

@@user-qs1eq6nw9x Oh I definitely agree that Logic lying about his retirement was pretty scummy. But I still genuinely enjoyed his post retirement stuff. Bobby Tarantino III, while far from Logic's best, was still a fun, entertaining mixtape, with some legit bangers, Vinyl Days was one of my favorite albums of last year, and now we have College Park, which is fricking awesome! I definitely agree that lying about the retirement was a scummy thing to do, and I can definitely see why it left a bad taste in your mouth, but I do think that Logic used that time to hone his craft and really develop his skills, while going back to his roots.
