Or hear me out .... Get a stream deck+ and a Wave XLR and good to go. Sure the EQ and everything is done through software but the stream deck+ has 8 pages of macros and control and supports VST through Wavelink so you can EQ any Mic. The Wave XLR provides plenty of gain to power the ShureSM7B and Ive compared the size of the Rodecaster Duo and getting the Elgato Devices is a smaller footprint. I think if I had the option I would get a Rodecaster Duo and still use the Stream Deck+ to control all of my audio.

I love my Rodecaster duo, but I also kept my my vanilla stream deck. Only because I would like my stream deck to focus on control and my Rodecaster simply focus on audio/sfx.

I was thinking about doing the same thing, I have a Stream Deck + and I might get a Stream Deck MK.2 or XL to replace it. I rather use the RCD for audio alone as well as using it on a dual computer setup.

Sm7b sounds heavenly with this audio interface 👌 especially with those rode presets that are tastefully done .

Your audio progression has been nearly identical (I landed on the Earthworks Icon Pro over the Shure SM7B). I've had my Duo for a couple weeks now and it's been great. Fun to learn and streamlined my setup. Goodbye Wave XLR. Thanks for your content. It's been enjoyable watching your audio journey.

Hey thank yoh! The icon pro has been on my radar but at this point any mic is just a vanity buy lol (I don't have a problem) all I need now is for rode to 100% integrate unify and that's a wrap

I had the Elgato stream deck for 1 day and got rid of it. That was two days ago. For my July 4 bday I picked up today the Rode caster duo = ZERO regrets. Night and day. A few technical things to sort out. Tip: Use ONLY A to A (from Rode Caster to computer.). Do NOT use USB A and USB C (or any type of converter.) And I LOVE the microphone as well. $800 package. And the boom beats yeti hands down. I hated that crap boom the yeti had. Never held the mic quite rite :)

I must be missing something. Are you using USB A to USB A for your rodecaster? Can you tell me more lol i'm mega curious. Is there a difference in performance that you've noticed ?

@@StreamGearTalk I was unaware my new computer has a usb C plug So thinking it only had USB ports I purchased a c adapter. I put the USB port in the back of my new computer, and the USB C adapter into rode. This is because I only had USB to USB chord. Spent the next 2 hours figuring out that don't work 😩😩. Looked one more time to make absolutely sure my brand new computer didn't have a C port. It did 😅😅. So make sure it's USB C to USB C chord. Ask me how stupid I felt at 1:00 a.m. 🙄🙄😩😩😅

@consumerdebtchitchat hehehe it happens. In case it helps, USB 2 CNA work with USB c (at the rode USB 2 port) to USB c to a adapter on the PC.

I have no hate for Elgato, I use their Stream Deck for both streaming and as a work peripheral and absolutely love the thing. The Wave XLR though has been less than stellar. I understand they were going for simplicity with the product but they have been having a series of really bad technical updates as of late which have made using the thing almost impossible for me. VSTs either stop working, glitch out or require a technical update to be usable again. It really screws up my entire process when I just want to hop on and record something. I'd prefer having more hardware with fewer software glitches than more software with a higher chance of glitches. Honestly, your solution with the duo looks fantastic and I'm likely making this as my next purchase. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the benefits.

Looking at an upgrade/replacement to my GoXLR Mini. I definitely want to wait for the update which brings virtual audio channels. Another potential device I’m considering is the Roland Bridge Cast, but this won’t replace my stream deck

I use the duo with Switcher Studio in the M1 iPad Air usb-c, I would love the midi to control 1, 2, 3, & 4 keys on a (virtual) keyboard as this would cycle the 4 cameras, now that would be cool
@Stampede_G8 ай бұрын
If they really want this to be that all-in-one device, it needs optical audio in/toslink for consoles, and more virtual devices just like the goxlr. Without that it can’t truly replace the goxlr as a streamer mixer. I haven’t heard someone’s rodecaster setup give any significant mic quality benefit over the GoXLR.

Great Video!!! So I have an older Macbook pro (2015) with 2 USB-A ports. I have 2 cameras. A canon 90D DSLR as my main, and a logitech c920 as my overhead (using Camlink 4k). These work great with ECAMM thanks to your videos. My problem lies with the Rodecaster Pro II that I'll be adding to my studio. Given that I only have 2 USB-A ports that I'm already using for my two camera inputs, I'll be forced to eliminate the overhead USB cam to make room for the Rodecaster Pro USB audio input. I'm aware that I could run audio from the Rodecaster (monitor out) 1/4 inch to 3.5mm into my Cannon, and then into the Mac via HDMI to Camlink/USB-A. This would leave me with the second USB-A port availible, however everything I've seen suggests that running audio out of the Rodecaster and into a camera mic input isn't the best way to go. This is why I'm considering going with an ATEM Mini Pro I could combine both cameras (TAO converter tor USB cam) into the ATEM mini and into my Mac and then the Rodecaser into the second USB-A port via USB-C/USB-A adapter. I was just hoping you could shed some light on what equipment is available (hubs,docs) that would allow me to use muliple cameras (4 max) with the Rodecaster Pro II and Ecamm. I'm not ready to upgrade my Mac yet so making my Mac Ports limitations (2 USB-A, 2 thunderbolt-2, 1 HDMI) work has been difficult to get info on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the Pro Version of Ecamm Live and i love it. -Blessings

@@StreamGearTalk yes everything was up to date. Still nothing. I did some research but it shows only rode x mics work.
@StreamGearTalk3 ай бұрын
True but if you're using a duo you'd have your mic (whatever mic) on 1 fader, and unify on a separate fader. Unify in this case would control all source volume levels except mic since the duo itself handles that. Then I'm obs you add Unify as one input source and your Rodecaster Duo mic as a separate source.

Two things that I don't like about Rode is that Unify is really rudimentary and quite unreliable (at least for me). And that the headphone outputs in Rode interfaces are pretty bad.
