Thanks for sharing :) i can imagine how different the trail was with time alone this thru hike. I noticed you had a healthy tool box, pod casts, phone calls, support from trail angels/family, listened to yourself, set small small goals for yourself, made time for new friends/tramily. I think its important to live in the present moment and let the universe talk us all through others nature songs etc. Serendipity! Thanks for sharing your perspective it was really nice to watch your adventures! The fall will be such a nice time to finish. Keep on keeping on :)

Loved the friendly deer video. A couple of years ago we drove through Shenandoah Natl Park, and the deer were right up next to us…such fun for them to be so unafraid. I think they are very well protected there. One of my fav parks…love seeing you hike there!

Slugs in SNP is bringing back memories :) I had a few on the bottom of my tent that I didn’t see, and packed my tent up… then I slept in the shelters for 3 nights. My tent smelled like death when I finally pitched it.

I love honey buns even though I'm a type 2 diabetic LOL. That's what we had for breaks when working in the tobacco fields of eastern NC when I was 10 yo to 18 yo. Anyway my family & I are vacationing in the New England states this week. We crossed the AT at Vermont route 100 today & thought about you. Wondering if you got out of Virginia yet. Keep the great vlogs coming. They make my day. Take care.

Awesome job on the 900 miles. My wife started watching and I joined in. I wanted to point out one thing. The area is simply known as Shenandoah. It is not a mountain range. It’s a park, valley, and river.

I have a question while in tent do Yu ever get scared thinking bears or coyotes coming up ?
@cerealdude890
@cerealdude890 Жыл бұрын
Bears yes. That’s why you don’t keep your food in your tent. Hopefully they should be more occupied with wherever your food is than you. Coyotes can be scary, but it’s extremely rare for them to attack humans. I think there’s only 1 or 2 recorded deaths by coyote in the history of the US.

The deer is 'yogying' for 🍭 candy. Too many hikers and curious are feeding them . . . they develope a dependancy and no fear. Then some hunter comes along . . . Do not feed, not you, Namsha, but those not familiar. If they weren't being 'candied', you would never see them. They know where you are, and move to the other side 'o the mountain. Deer knowledge. btw . . . eat those candies when you can, but be careful of 'huneybun abuse' . . . Overindulgence gives you, you know what . . . 'honeybun fever' 😂!

I laughed when the deer weren't afraid of you. That's typical of Shenandoah, where all the animals -- including bears -- know that people won't hurt them. Those are the Blue Ridge Mountains, by the way, not the "Shenandoahs." Shenandoah refers to the river and valley. Sorry about your food issues. The waysides are more oriented to day tourists and family campers than backpackers.

Carbonic acid will do a lot things but it won’t hurt you if consumed in great moderation. That stated, I rarely drink any “soft” drink. I don’t need the sugar rush and despise artificial sweeteners. Drink water.
