For my Dads 73rd birthday we made the mistake of taking him somewhere posh we went to the savoy. He ordered roast beef and when it came he said i love pink but that looks like you have ripped the horns off wiped its arse and plonked it on the plate 😲😳😲poor waiter didn't know what to say so after a few seconds (that seemed like ages) said excuse me sir i do apologise ...we just wanted the floor to swallow us up.Never again did we take him anywhere posh from that day it was the pie and mash shop 😂😂😂 .

Absolutely wonderful. The view from the bar in the Shard was worth the prices asked for the drinks - well, nearly! It was good to see you both having a posh trip to London and that deal with LNER takes some beating. I went first class by train from Birmingham to London. The outstanding memory was a "gentleman" in a very expensive suit who (whilst "working" on his laptop) put a finger into his nose, pulled something out, examined it and then wiped it onto the empty seat next to him. I really, really, really wanted to rub his nose in it.

My husband had a similar experience recently. A posh looking man near him constantly picking stuff from his eyes ears and nose and eating it all. He even licked his fingers afterwards as if he’d just eaten a delicious cake or something! My husband nearly gagged.

I’m in London later in the year with friends. I was about to message to recommend we go to The Shard for evening drinks… it didn’t even get to the draft stage when you said it was £48 for 2 half lagers and 1 Dirty Martini…. Wow, the trip looked fab, the view from the shard was so beautiful all lit up! I’d be there all night just looking 😂the food looked so good but personally wouldn’t bother with the oysters and not really into them. The fish and chips look very nice and the peas you cannot have the peas and I would’ve gone for the raspberry. Pavlova myself looked delicious. You did a very good job of it James of course always professional. Helen adds a laugh x

I love the vibe you and Helen have when dining out. The Salty Pixie best describes it as being wiggly. Between 1986 and 2002 I was lucky to live in Scotland and commute to London weekly and living that type of life every week took it's toll. But at 67 I am a reformed character and still here. I still have nightmares about a lost weekend which stated with half pints of port at lunchtime on a Friday, ended up in France on the Saturday and got home to Scotland on the Monday . We live part of the year outside Torrevieja and your F&M meal would have been less than 100 euros at say the Lobster Restaurant in Playa Flamenca. However because of Brexit we are back in Scotland as we have run out of days. Love Yorkshire as my wife and I worked there in the mid 2000's living in Whitely on the A19

We called in Harrods cafe for coffee & a croissant, l'm sure it was about £35. But it was worth it, a lovely place to be and it's good to treat yourself. That looked a great trip away. 👍
