I think the reason why the guy throws his gun away is due to implications. Its a firearm that is registered witg the police and to him. So he gets rid of it to show hes essentially AWOL. That is at least my guess.

I keep saying that Dead to Rights should have been a one and done game, like kill.switch and Urban Reign. I would like Namco to remaster those three and release them as a package deal. But if they do, they have to be the PS2 versions. Why? Because the PS2 Dead to Rights has the cheat codes, that's why. Yeah, you might not be able to get achievements if you do that, but some sections of the game can be hard even though the PS2 version is toned down in difficulty.

Reckoning on th PSP was better than Dead to rights 2 because the bodies stayed around, blood splattered on the environment, you dive into enemies and a cool disarm animation happened and you could shoot from a prone state. Seemed like 2 was meant to be the PSP game and Reckoning the console game.

While DTR had more to do and the story was a pretty nice die hard camp plot, I think I could play DTR2 before I play DTR again. God, the gun and melee gameplay were BAD in the first one. The slow mo got me killed more often than not, the snipers NEVER MISS no matter the distance so you're bleeding damage anytime they're around and you're not in cover, and the melee combat was bullshit; you would think you can counterattack after the enemy whiffs their combo, but they get to dodge and weave you anyway, and you don't get the same luxury. I dunno how you beat Hennesey so easily... but then I did play the whole game on hard. Funny thing about the bosses in 2 is that while they have their weird invincibility thing going on, you can cheese them out with throwing weapons to keep stunlocking them. Do it right and the cowboy boss never gets a chance to call for backup. Gotta agree about Reckoning, the fuk was up with that damn camera. Nearly ruins the whole game. Along with the lockon that decides to loclk on to a different target whenever you release it. Like it's prioritizing going through somesort of a list instead of who is closest. DTR Retribution is pretty good like you said though, and has the coolest looking Jack Slate of them all (hated the designs for him in DTR2/Reckoning) but I never even knew they had a gameboy version. Want to try it, but it certainly sounds like trash. Overall, really enjoyed this blast from the past. Never played Max Payne, but I've alwyas been curious about that series so I'll check out those videos next.
@senoka46382 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say it's underrated. It didn't stand out because so many others did it better. Much better. But I can see someone enjoying it for what it is. Janky knock off games can have a certain charm to them.

@MrHammers5 ай бұрын
Being the same genre isn't why I call them clones, but using the same gameplay mechanics and presentation is pretty obviously a clone. It's not a bad thing, but devs definitely do it. An innovative game comes out and then studios start wanting to make a game like _____. Happens with every popular game and Max Payne was one of them. Same with GTA 3, God of War, etc
@diamondhamster43205 ай бұрын
@@MrHammers True, true but DTR was made by Japanese with their own spin and Japanese general don`t even know that is trending and popular in the gaming world. This game most likely was inspired by 10 000 Bullets and not Max Payne.
