Nah I realize that maybe I was blinded by nostalgia for this show because it was what I grew up with and just every cartoon in general. I rewatched all of Regular Show again and it was even better the second time! Every episode literally was fucking amazing! besides some relationship episodes but since I do have a gf and was getting into my relationship with her I admired and loved those episodes in their own way. This show is just really good! A quote that perfectly describes regular show is “how did you get negative points?!”

Rewatched the show on HBO Max this year, and now being 23, the show was even better than I remember. Especially the first 4-5 seasons. I now totally understand what my dad meant by saying the show always reminded of "himself and his friends in their 20's". Can't wait to watch the series with my own kids one day. @@kichiwas-hargan4775 there was a few. the one where muscle man loses his memory is a big one. the ones that feature his family like his brother also give more insight to his character, hes just not really an interseting guy. he goes with the flow, likes music and is friends with muscle man, but that doesnt mean hes not a complete character. He just doesnt have as much going on as the others. hes pretty intellgient and well put together, he doesnt have massive flaws he needed to fix. the only issue he really had was when muscle man is being a jerk or when he needed help getting with celia (the woman he ends up with at the end and is shown starting a DJ business with)

I was really young when this show started. By the time I stopped watching after season 4, I was still in Elementary School. All I saw after that was the Movie and Finale. It wasn’t anything against the show that made me stop watching, I just thought I was outgrowing it. I ended up being very wrong about that. I finally rewatched it all the way through in the Spring last year, and it was then when I finally figured out how good it really was. It immediately became one of my favorite shows. All I really thought about when I was a kid was that it was funny. Now, as a high school student, I’m surprised by how relatable it is. A lot of the problems the characters went through really resonated with me. By the time I got to the movie and finale, I was balling my eyes out. So, you’re damn right this show still holds up today. My favorite character is Rigby

First 4 seasons have got to be my favourite. But then around Season 5, I feel like it was okay but that’s when it started to go down hill as the show started to focus more on Mordecai’s relationships which was just boring to me. The finale was amazing but I rarely go back to 6, 7 or 8, as those are probably my least favourite.

imo other way around, 7 and 8 are my favorites. i liked the crazy stories of the first few seasons of episodes for how fun they happened to be but by the end i loved seeing some genuine growth from everyone aside from mordecai's love life. 8 especially had some of the coolest episodes of the show with the new space setting and i thought all the lore stuff was crazy awesome. it was nice to see them graduate from complete bozos to slightly less bozos. i thought season 4 was the lowpoint cuz i found all that shit to be really inconsistent with logic and other stuff which was frustrating at times.

When I was rewatching the series a couple months back, I kept telling myself if they had only been able to extend the episodes to a full 30 minute length then I think they could have easily been THE BEST show ever. Some episodes felt really rushed once they got to the climax and it was typically the newer episodes that felt like that and it’s because the episode run time was only 15 minutes. If they had more time, they’d be able to flesh out more situations and really have bangers after bangers. Regardless of the 15 minute episodes though, almost every episode was absolute gold. Even got my mom and my 7 year old sister to watch along which just goes to show that it’s just an overall great show with an amazing appeal to all audiences

Dan Harmon is very upfront about this usage of the Hero’s Journey and actually goes into depth in how to present it. Many writers will agree that that format is the quintessential story arc writing technique, and if you look out for it, you will see it everywhere. The creativity isn’t in the template of the presentation, but what inhabits that template.

In my opinion, the first 4 seasons (minus some bad episodes here and there) were truly great experiences and really good. I'd say the show was great in season 1, and continued improving in almost every way until season 4. After that, season 5 and 6 started showing a drop, but there was still something great in both seasons. Season 7 and 8 are were the show started to drop. It's not that they were bad, but just kind of underwhelming compared to what came before. In season 8, the only episode I thought wasn't just meh, was the Pops montage episodes. In was very well written and very creative This is just my opinion of course

It really infuriates me that many are fixated on Mordo only in terms of relationships. Lol did you watch the series at all, or just the memes from 2019? He had a lot of stories related to how he saved Rigby, about the park, or making peace with his family. Mordecai's point wasn't about relationships. He is mature in terms of actions and behavior. Rigby wasn't mature until Season 7, if not later. And it's even a little funny that people hate one, but they adore Rigby, because he just finished school and grew his brains in space.

IMO when the show tried to make Mordecai's love life interesting by creating a love triangle between him, cj and margaret that was when it started gearing far from what we were happy with and that's when it's decline started for me

the last era of great shows, god how i was blessed to be able to grow up with this classic of a show. rip cartoon network and nick :( truly end of an era and i dont think there will be a run like this ever again.

Thats actually hard one… prob 1 and 2 tho. They got some of the funniest and most iconic episodes. But i think my favorites are spread out between all season

In my opinion, the finale should have been about Mordecai and Rigby's relationship. I know we saw that in the movie, but anything would be better than some anime Pops' story they pulled out of their ass.

The Pops arc was fine, for me. But, in hindsight, I wouldn't have minded them using this time to reflect more on Mordecai and Rigby's friendship (since this show is built around these two).
