Hands down one of the nicest and down to earth guy in the sport. Such a fantastic instructor too, looking forward to part 2.

That was great. So cool to see a guy like Tarik be so nice and technical as well. Didn't have to go spazz mode at all

I rolled with Tarik recently and he smushed me (he was much less flowy, he was in comp season afaik). I’ve rolled with a lot of great guys, but Tarik was really amazing. It’s like he just doesn’t even acknowledge your guard, he just blitzes through it. It almost feels disrespectful hahaha.. I just couldn’t form any meaningful connections to him. He’s so outrageously strong and knows exact where he needs to use that with beautiful technique. Truly a special talent and one of the nicest dudes I’ve met in the sport.

Ha! Maybe I’m just not perceived as a threat. It gives me hope to see super high level guys that are also nice people!

The way you filmed it was awesome...The view was very clear. I was studying all the movements of your butterfly and his counters.... This is gold for beginners like me! 🔥🔥🔥

I learned so much from this! This is what I would consider the "ideal roll" It is Challenging, Fun and Educational. Way to go! I had no idea Tarik was a person and had a channel. Cant wait to check it out! Thanks for including all that information 🙏

Love the video I would love to see more local black belts and their specialties. Jordan Teaches Jiu Jitsu was a great more of that and commentary rolls always good

I ask quite a few folks to do these with me; Not everyone is comfortable with it, but I will continue to search! Thanks for watching.

Would love to see Craig Jones as one of your guests, but if not, maybe some no gi rolls and how you translate your gi -game over to no gi

Hello! I do, I even teach no gi - I post clips on my instagram. I was supposed to do a no gi roll analysis but the guy got sick.

Tarik did not invent this move. I first learned it as “The Amazing” from Jeremy Arel (a Gordo BB) on his KZbin channel Great Grappling 11 years ago.

Thanks for sharing that! Maybe popularizer would’ve been a better term.
