If you put the right (left) armrest on. In the new hole, maybe the length of the armrest will cover the obsolete hole’s ?

Glad you chose not to repaint the door. Love the look of the rose gold arm rests. Mistakes happen, even when you're trying your best. The money you save by doing things yourself, more than make up for the cost of mistakes. Press on, still loving the videos.

That was a good idea to paint the armrest. I think the color looks great. Sorry it was backwards. It was unfortunate accident to learn from. Anyway, Thank You for posting your progress on Carl.

You have the standard arm rests, the deluxe versions have stainless trim pieces in them, which make them really deluxe looking. They are shorter for a four door than for a two door car. I may have a set, I can look if you like - and if you haven't already cut more holes in the door panel.

I think the 64 deluxe arm rests had the stainless trim while the 65 did not (I could be wrong). But, they should be interchangeable.

@@sheldoncooper6230 I think you're right. The deluxe arm rests were rather plain in '65. But the '63-'64 deluxe arm rests are larger, and would probably cover those holes.

Mahalo for the shoutout (POPUP-OUT?😂😅) in your video! And…wow! That flexible paint you put on that armrest is impressive! Looking on the VERY bright side of all this, you all “modified” (I can’t bring myself to say “ruined”) only 1 of those 4 door panels. Your sense of dismay reached out to all of us, and we sympathize. This suggests to me that if you reviewed all this wonderful footage you have taken, you might have spotted the little differences between the driver and passenger side armrests. However…nothing…could have prepared me to even CONCEIVE that the standard armrests and the deluxe armrests could have required DIFFERENT attachment points from one another! What marketing moron or bone-headed beancounter at Ford could have thought this was in…any way, shape or form…a SANE way to create door panels, huh? My word… I blame Ford, by jingo, not you! 😂😅I join you in your sense of doom and gloom this week. While reassembling a laptop on Sunday, I managed to CRUSH a tiny little connector at the end of a tiny wire that got caught in something when I refitted the palm rest/track pad. This rendered my 11-year-old laptop…into which I’d JUST installed a new CR2032 coin battery to power the clock and keep the BIOS settings current…into a paperweight. Aaargh! I’m gonna remove the rest of the broken connector pieces and try soldering the individual leads back on to their corresponding points on the motherboard. What could possibly go wrong? 😂😅 I really enjoyed this video. When you all tune back into your video in the future, you’ll love it, too. Aloha!
