Hahaha, oh man. I was there 4 months ago! Different situation in my case. Brother , the feeling is actually trash in the seat. I opted to go to 400 lb progressives for my build. I am happy with this amount, and the lift was great in the rear. However, it felt like shit at first. And I had a driveline shake at the carrier bearing. Fixed the shake with a drop kit and then threw all my snow tyre's and my wife's snow tyre's after I had changed wheels over. Figured it added close to 350lbs. But while I did the leaf swap, I tore some other weight off. Long story short, I have my canopy now on, and my tent and kitchen and it's all good. But what a shit feeling before it's corrected! Excited to see your weight management and utility ideas for the future.

pick up a used decked drawer system for 200 lbs and add another 100 lbs of spare parts and tools. add your spare and you are back at 200 lbs over stock

Respectfully heck no! Haha ain’t no way I’m putting a decked system in here

Chase rack, dual spare carrier, jack and tool box might get you close to what you need to gain back

Also as far as the weight…what’s the plan with it, like do you want it centered over the axle? In front of it? Etc etc to keep the geometry correct

That fine details like that will have to be worked out with SHP. He’ll get me right

@@desertdime gotcha I’m just curious on what they decide to do as I plan to run a spare tire in my bed along with recovery gear but I want my leafs to have the longest amount of life so what’s the move for something like that
@desertdime3 ай бұрын
@cameronutter1 having a leaf that can handle the added weight is key. My old leafs couldn’t handle the single full size spare so had to get stiffer leafs. Figure out what you want your bed set up to be and once you have that cemented then you can plan the leafs for the weight you’ll have

Hey I’ve had similar experiences with my 2nd gen Tacoma. They are super light in the rear, I noticed my bed getting marred up and the fiber showing up over the years and bought a rubber bed mat and they are heavy. You could just cut out your spare mounting points in the rubber. That’s one way of adding weight cheaply and clean plus with protection. 🤙🏼

Crazy because I’m legit having the exact same problem with my rear end. Funny cuz I’ve done all the same mods as you. Instead of adding weight is there another leaf kit you could throw on or nah
@desertdimeАй бұрын
Yeah you can go with a less stiff pack like the Deaver j66 or Accutunes Deaver n98. I had just witched from the j66 tho cause it didn’t provide enough lift and was too soft. So I’d for sure go with the n98 for that extra inch of lift and maybe they won’t be too soft with the lack of weight

@@desertdime awesome thank you. I rlly didn’t think you’d respond so I shot u a dm as well myb appreciate the insight. Still figuring everything out so it means a lot 🤙🏼 trucks 🔥 btw

Would it be better to just get a new Leaf pack? Or a steel bumper?
@desertdime3 ай бұрын
If I wasn’t already planning on adding more weight to the rear end then yes, it would be better to find a new leaf solution, but I already plan on adding a jack to the bed and going up in tire size for the next set. All I’m really adding to the plan now is adding a second spare. As far as the bumper, if that’s a style someone wants to go with then yeah you can add the weight back that way. I just have always wanted this bumper and love the way it looks.

You should go back to the Deaver J66 or just consider getting a Deaver N98 or Icon RXT leaf pack
@TheNewps3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the heads up on the N98 from Deaver and AccuTune. Exactly what I was looking for, 2" of lift made for stock weight. Seems like everyone's 2" lift rear leafs are being made to carry 300lbs+ of weight.

I feel like this episode needs a whiteboard so you can do a comparison…lots of numbers….
