Just imagine it she's the villain who never wanted to be a villain and tried to do good and save the world and have been stripped of control of her life from when she was a little girl and every time she attempts to fix things they blow in her face and cause massive destruction. I can see her returning as a villain who wants to "correct her mistake" which is us the exiles and the atlas.

I’ve got a soft spot for the Prismatic Eclipse because it was the first (and for a long time, only) mention of the 3rd sister to Solaris and Lunaris, Viridi. I made a tinfoil theory about Viridi being connected to Harvest before Harvest came out based on that one item and now Viridi is in a lot of lore bits~ I love it

That part about the three faces sounds more like Alva to me. We know two of those faces already, being the main timeline Alva and then the alternate timeline Last To Die Alva (yes, it's been confirmed that was Alva), and we know she's playing a role again in PoE 2 which opens up the room for a third facet or version.

As of Innocence being Maxarius - makes no sense actually. Templars were found during time of Eternal Empire. Which came to be after Vaal Civilization already fell. But Sin spoke of times predating even Vaal. And more specifically he personally knew Arakaali, who were not just a Vaal goddess, but Vaal Queen as well. And who predated Atziri by a lot. In fact when Atziri came to power - all gods were already asleep because of Sin and his Beast. And it was actually Atziri, or rather her right hand Doryani - who first discovered property of Virtue Gems. They were first who harvested Beast for those gems. And again, at that time Eternal Empire didn't even existed yet, rest alone Templars. So, no, both Sin and Innocence definitely much-much older than Templar Order.

@@soulstealer5625 Likely misinterpretation by Templars. If to choose whom to believe, Sin or Divinia - i obviously will choose Sin. And from what he told us - he is much-much-much older than Templar Order. Could it be that burning still were involved during Sin's and Innocence ascension - possibly, especially taken how Sin's body is all charred. But it just couldn't be during Eternal Empire Era, rather much earlier. Best assumption is that High Templar Maxarius was just trying to recreate the process of ascension. Obviously with no progress, as at that era all gods were already asleep, and no new gods have ascended in a very long while.

I kind of have a theory that Kalandra actually is Hinekora. Because Hinekora didn't really appear "in person" after the awakening of the gods, and Kalandra can escape the lake but doesn't remember what happens when she does. If Kalandra is Hinekora and the few appearances she had were the occasions when she "left" the lake it makes some sense in my mind. THe bird form is just a "lake" reflection form, not her real appearance when she comes to the "real world". And I think that the Sin we know is a reflection created by the lake. If the lake creates reflections of people that go there and few people did reach that place and the reflection is the "inverse" of what enters there, then there may be a Sin-evil-twin that may or may not be the original that appears on the lore and the Innocense side of the story. If the Sin on Innocense story is a bad guy, he got to the lake to search for a way to save his wife and child, then got reflected and the good one got out with the ember because Hinekora wanted that to happen, it makes sense that the Sin we know is completely different from the Sin on Innocense story and it is so empathetic to humanity. I don't think I'm making sense but that is what is boiling in my mind since all the lore came out. Maybe we can have Sin's evil twin coming back with the evil reflections of the exiles that got to the lake (kind like what happened with the awakener storyline). Maybe evil Sin is the father of Maven and he lives in another timeline/universe/multiverse. Like the Last-to-die is Alva.

Awesome, KCN's videos made me appreciate PoE on a whole next level. I've always enjoyed just sort of taking in the lore and characters passively, but without ever really knowing WTF is happening exactly.. It's kind of like the FromSoft world building style. Having a storyteller like her put it all together and connect the pieces across random things like lore books and item descriptions etc, in videos is so great.

big bombshell I can drop: 9:50 -> Sin was trapped by arakaali in her Sex dungeon and he went like "ah damn, I guess my godly powers SUDDENLY DONT WORK ANYMORE" and then they proceeded to duke it out sexual style for a few decades until Arakaali was done with him and then sin "suddenly" reawakened his powers and was able to leave 13:30 Gruthkul is also part of Beastiary Lore and Harvest :)

I really appreciate all the work KCN does to tie the very distant lore tidbits together to make a mostly coherent picture for this game. I'm one of the folk that transitions between go go go and full stop pretty easily so I've always enjoyed Path's plot just the way it is (not to say I don't understand other people's gripes with it), but it's so cool that on top of the relatively good story they openly (if slowly) tell that there is also a giant dark souls archeological component revealing SO much more to also enjoy.

I want to mention something really cool about the kalandra lore, i think its implied she may be an eldritch being, as im pretty sure she stated that she came to the world before any kind of life existed. I think she calls it Primordial. She remembers a time before the gods. I think she hated the gods for using power that wasn't rightfully theirs.

Regarding the Beast and if it has its own intentions. We only have Sin’s words about this… and according to Sin the Beast was created to I some way nullify what ever was in place that allowed Gods to be gods and lull them all to sleep. It isn’t heavily implied that this affected everyone, including Sin. And that this was intentional part of Sin’s plan. Putting all Gods to sleep so they stopped destroying mankind and the world of the living. He says that one mistake he made was to not instill the Beast with any ambition of its own and that is how Malachy and others could tap into and use the powers in the Beast. From this follows (in my headcannon) that whatever was brought to and into the Beast was what was “communicated” back. That the Beast reflected and amplified. So Malachy had his goals and ambitions and he got sense of the power vortex that the Beast consists of (the Beast seems to be both physical and metaphorical at the same time) and connecting to that he got his own ambitions and urges reflected back. Interpreting it as being called or guided but in fact it was himself guiding himself. Without “ambition” of its own the Beast, according to Sin, wasn’t able to comprehend how do defend itself and not being used. And Sin concludes that the way the Beast was made and set up directly led to it being possible for humans to learn to tap into that power vortex. And Sin didn’t anticipate this. Also. According to what Sin says all the Gods there once mortals that got elevated through some sort of collective praise and belief from all other humans. So there is some sort of energy matrix in the world of Wraeclast, and possible even across the Atlas, that allows for creation through sheer belief and emotion coming from large collectives of living minds and souls. Sin (and the others) seems to be “local” Gods treated and bound through the energies within a world (map?). Then there is the Atlas with all its boundless amount or worlds (maps?). And Sin has nothing to say about these other worlds (he stops contributing after act 10). Sirius seems to have been able to tap into something like godlike powers but without going through same sort of ascension-through-others-beliefs that Sin and others did. And beyond the Atlas there is also entities like the Maven and others. Lots of layers to the cosmic lore. :-)

So this mysterious island called Wraeclast is actually a big prison for hardened criminals, that's us the players called exiles. But what is it with this island why all supernaturals are happening and all sorts of supernatural Beings converged? Is there a valuable resource here that they are after or is this just a place to test their strength ala Predators?

Wraeclast is a continent, and the playable area is really only the central and southern parts. Oriath is the island.

It's where the beast is located, and the mountain where the raw purity gems are from which make our skill gems. The skill gems are a valuable source of power. People are sent I to exile on wraeclast, but it's all just a farce to give human bodies to piety and dominus to do human experiments on and further the research of the templars. The beast creates nightmares, in which people can achieve their greatest desires and pursue power and prestige forever. People get affected by the nightmare, meanwhile zanas dad researches a way to access the nightmare via a portal device, gets played by the elder and loses his memory, becoming the shaper. He continues to shape the worlds within the atlas to his needs, realizing that the elder is evil and so on, and they battle it out for control on the atlas. We exiles come in and stop the elder, and the shaper, but then the elder manages to fully corrupt the weakened shaper, they power up and we slap them into another dimension, but we keep going into tve atlas, zana is like... Yo what the fuck the fight for the atlas is done why you still going. Well we actually had 4 other players in our party, we all keep going, grinding endlessly, the atlas of worlds, we are sort of the masters of the atlas now, we shape the atlas for our needs, and it shapes us... Or something like this. We become the conquerors of the atlas trapped forever in the nightmare because zana closed the atlas and put down watch stones at the edges of the atlas.... And then maven happened and then exarch and eater happened

@@RedCloudBlackSky the elder is an ancient creature that just consumes worlds. It doesn't talk it only corrupts, more like a natural chaos. It's like the mold of the universe. It existed outside of this world before the creation of the atlas of worlds and the map device made by zanas dad who later became the shaper. I think he got attracted by the major act of creation and wanted to spread his mold on the atlas. Other "primordial" creatures are the endless hunger, and searing exarch (and maven). They all act sort of as a way to disintegrate reality and all get attracted by major existences of realities. The harbingers I think were fleeing from a destroyed world to our world. And the atlas of worlds gives a way to connect beyond our world. The original mistake was making the map device, because before that our world was just like a star in the endless galaxy, but because of the map device everyone knows that we're like a world that hosts life. As for the beast, it's a creation of sin to put the gods to sleep who were about to destroy our world due to the endless conflicts between them. In wraeclast people could become gods simply by being worshipped or feared by the masses, there's some sort of path to ascension. Well innocence invented a story so that he could burn his brother on the stakes so he could ascend, the awe and fear of both sin and innocence ascended both into godhood with a sprinkle of the influence of the searing exarch which somehow had appeared way back when. (Probably limited influence because worlds were separated and only the atlas of worlds allowed direct connection) Anyways so theres all these power hungry gods trying to instill awe and fear for their own power, they get ever more powerful. things escalate, Sin who ascended by accident basically, not due to his own lust for power creates the beast and puts everyone to sleep, he did spare some gods we don't know of, but basically all the trash gods are sleeping. The beast creates the nightmare in which the gods could exist forever, chasing glory and becoming that thing they desire. It's like an illusion but it's half real. So anyways, as the nightmare grows, it sort of seeps out. My personal theory is that, the beast did not run the nightmare alone, the gods who were living in the nightmare sort of affected it too. And so the nightmare seeps out. People get these dreams, they enter the nightmare. The nightmare talks to them, calling them toward the mountain. (Coincidentally it seems it always seems to be powerful people with a lot of potential) Some notable people are dominus, Malachai, Venarius (zanas dad), and finally us the exile, we also hear the whispers of the nightmare. The nightmare plan falls apart as people with lots of power study the nightmare, they become able to exploit it, they get revelations about technology out of the nightmares. It's not just fictional, it actually can affect the real world. The knowledge inside the nightmare gives power, and they try to go in deeper. And with the map device they can even visit the nightmare and pull out artefacts.

Kalandra was one of biggest disappointment for me about "lose ends" in PoE. So, there are gods. Sin explaining that in old times humans could ascend to godhood. But he never spoke on what powers were involved to make that ascendance possible. And why is that not possible anymore. Then there are Eldrich Entities. But are there just other gods? or how they are related to gods? There also Titans. But likewise, no explanation on what they are, how they came to be. And finally, there Kalandra. And lore goes that she just existed, and eventually found that lake. But no words on what she is. She can't be a god, since she clearly predates them. But is she Eldrich Entity then? Or somehow related to Titans? Like... who created Kalandra? How she came to be?
